I'd like to suggest that we can view alt characters stash by talking to a bank cashier.
This would be view only, you know for the time you want to find something but you have to login to all your characters just to check.
I think this would be nice and makes life easier for managing what you have.

Aye, was trading today and had to go through 14 alts to find the stuff i was selling.

Great idea.
Though I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind view-only. One is already using alts as additional storage, and one can only do this when at the bank, so I'm not sure I see that there is any major risk of unintended game-play consequences of allowing direct exchanges.
But even view-only would be a good step forward
