so i just done the maths (hopefully its correct ) but from what i found if you fully upgrade your gold gain it would take 14 years to make back the fsp used to pay for it which i personally feel is abit pointless.

i have my gold gain maxed at 505 an hour, 505 x 24 = 12,120 so thats 12,120 gold a day and in total it costs 250 fsp to max your gold gain. an average price for 1 fsp is approx 250k ... so 250 x 250,000 = 62,500,000 and if you divide that by 12,120 ( gold per day) you are left with the number 5156 (rounded down) so that means it will take approx 5156 day ( 14.12 years) to make your money back from the gold gain

what do you guys think about it ?

your math checks out

this thread pops up every now and then

the answer is: in the beginning of the game, FSP sold for something like 5-10k gold

so the gold gain upgrade was a good deal

now, not so much

And the cows don't want to increase the amount of gold gained per upgrade because they are looking to drain gold from the game, not increase it.  Leaving the upgrade as it stands is a good way to drain gold from those that can't do math....lol

It should be incrased tho with exp gain, those amounts are like super low. but it should reduce to those numbers after like 7 days of inactivity.

or if they want to remove gold from the game they should change it to fsp shards, when fully maxed you get 50 shards a day maybe

I think that'd be a fair suggestion. That way the upgrade isn't completely useless.

what do you guys think about it ?

I did the math way at the beginning and figured I'd never make back the investment. Honestly not 100% sure, but believe it was something like 4 years at the time I did the calc.

However, I got it anyway for a variety of other reasons.

If the only value you can derive from the gain is eventually making a straight up profit, then, yeah, it doesn't make much sense.

But that's in line with absolutely all the upgrades, right? Some have use for things, some don't.

PS. Your calc is a bit off. You start off with a free 5 gold per hour. The upgrade only gives you an additional 500 per hour so actually takes you longer. ,oP

Personally, I want more gold (in my pocket, not necessarily yours, ofc), but the majority of players think that gold needs to go somewhere.... tbh, the gold gain upgrade was always a joke to me, and mine remains at +5 per hour.  IMHO, this particular upgrade should have been phased out at the same time as the FSP > gold upgrade.... it's no longer relevant to the game and should be replaced with something we all might use.

In theory, I like the idea of a shard gain, but I can about guarantee you there will never be a passive way to accumulate FSP in any form......
