Dear HCS. As your members of staff quote and refer to

https://forums.hunte...showtopic=74316

Can I ask what is being and has been done in an attempt to gain the following you require to justify allocating a full development team to it?

Unfortunately HCS can't rely soley on word of mouth from their players, especially now, when the game has no sign of being finished anytime soon due to scaling it down (Players are unlikely to recommend something that is unlikely to be completed any time soon) your loyal players can only do so much to keep it going themselves.

With this in mind, to fully support this game (as they have stated they are doing), it makes sense that HCS really need to do something to try gain the following they require.

Also, considering it has been stated there is no longer a full development team for this game, we can only assume this means there is at least a partial team developing this game. Could you confirm that this is the case please?

Thank you for your time. I await your answers with anticipation :)

When in doubt. Blame lag ;)

they barely have time to give you guys a valentines update and you expect a fully written out essay?

simple answers to your questions

Nothing has been done to get more follow up else you would've noticed a big spike in new players just like when it got released on steam.

and regarding your partial team on eldevin

I can only assume that there is still people working on it since you guys recently got your valentines update so you can just keep their development team to a state where they just keep the game running and toss in events from time to time and take the events off.

if you were to get an actual reply kudos but the earliest i'd expect it thursday or probably never since this is another please give us more attention thread wich have been increasing in amounts consistently.

they implied ur getting less attention deal with it.

if you are really that curious for answers call their offices with your concerns. you might get hung up on but you may also get the answers wich you truly desire. and in the last case share it with us if you want.

Steve, this is getting unhealthy for you

I already know the answers to these questions. You just refuse to accept any answers and even if they responded, for a handfull at least, it would be like amnesia had taken hold and you would all be raving about eldevin next week again blocking out what you already know and living in denial about the game.

The game did not take offffffffff, they are going to do the minimum possible to keep it online. They are not going to piss money away when it has never held a player base even when player poured in the door from steam. They have never ever ever shown any signs they were willing to advertise and roll out expenses to increase popularity, otherwise they would have done it. They have impied they would, but you know better now. Also a lot of mistakes were made and resources squandered, the time has probably passed without serious investment to correct this.

Also you are taking everything too literally, anyone who is left from the eldevin team probably are on other projects and lets say for instance the game crashes or they seasonal updates need to be put up. Probably someone walks over and does that, other than that, they have a main project game they work on.

Just pray for a buy out or something.

I think the roles of each staff member is not restricted to just one game. So other then Mojawk (events), I'm not sure who still works on Eldevin as there's no timeline. Maybe cowboy possibly but who knows.

And I think if you read the other thread, this might answer your question.

Just to confirm, the development update that Mojawk posted in June still applies:

https://forums.hunte...showtopic=74316

We are no longer dedicating a full development team to Eldevin. If we did, there would be no Eldevin at all in a very short time, and no other HCS games either. I know it's disappointing to our loyal players, and it's a disappointment to us as well. But we are a small team doing the best we can.

So nothing really. HCS is a business unfortunately and what they do with Eldevin is up to them. Also have to keep in mind they've been funding themselves from the games they've created.

I wonder though if they could invest in Youtube advertising? Since now Youtube has multiple ads within their videos  -_-

The ultimate money maker for Eldevin would be to make a dungeon editor and charge a subscription to make dungeons, that way the game would grow on it's own from the players themselves and HC would have a steady income from the game, of course HC would have control of dungeon rewards but it would work.  As many have said HC is a business and has to make money and the above way would be a great asset to Eldevin and HC.

Actually to everyone impying that Steve's questions have been answered I would disagree.

Quoting directly from the other post : "scale down development"

When Sigmastorm2  failed we received a clear cut message that development had stopped as it didnt gain a popular sustainable player base.

The message this time around has not been in anyway clarified and instead a carrot on a stick has been dangled that a slim possiblity remains.

With that said I dont think any meaningful answers will be obtained but I think its much more telling that certain sides of the communitly like to log in just to shoot down posts and sneer at others through the forums for a game they no longer love.

Some people still love this game and have hopes (however naieve we may be) that something, somewhere along the line might revitalise the game.

And as mentioned in previous posts multiple times, some feedback and transparency from the Devs would go a long way to keeping the rare few who still remain loyal subscribing to the game - again not something I expect to change but its the only business model that ever works so i can dream I suppose.
