right Im hoping the forgot to add a zero. getting 6 xp mining copper at lvl 14 it going to take a week to level up thats like 3k+ cooper

Yeah dropped dramatically.

 

Was getting 17 XP per Prospect while Gathering and 19 XP while Smelting per bar last night before I logged.

 

Now I'm getting 6 XP for Prospecting while Gathering and 8 XP while Smelting per bar .

 

That's a HUGE  XP drop.

 

** On a side note I'm getting more leveling(combat) XP per gather/smelt now though but only 1 XP per.

The changes to crafting were meant to improve the experience not make it worse, it was scheduled for Tuesday next week, I am investigating please bare with me.
 
So we got a bug report about a movement exploit this morning that we fixed and as such the changes got pushed live before they were tested, this is my fault :(
 
I think probably we will do a build tomorrow once I've had a chance to look at the numbers properly, what I wanted was it to be more worthwhile to craft the higher end gear, not reduce xp what was currently being crafted.

I did some numbers and the drop was 59%. Don't, by any means, waste your materials and time crafting today.

Ok, been looking at the numbers for the gathering XP, we are definitely improving them tomorrow.
 
We're also going to reduce the cost of Vials / Dye / Polish / Spirit / Flux and Misc Foods.

Not a problem, these things happen.

 

Just glad you guys are so involved with the community and your response time to complaints/bugs is just plain awesome.

 

The changes to mat costs for crafting is also great to hear, great move IMO.

 

With that said, I've been having a blast playing and was on the fence about whether to subscribe.

 

Not anymore you guys just got another subscriber.

As of 11:40pm ECT and a Level 5 leatherworker, basic tattered belt (lvl1) awarded 23 xp and Improved Tattered Pants (lvl 5) awarded 34 xp. This is as a supporter as well. The other day I recall being awarded 40+ xp for making basic tattered belts. I presume crafting is extremely broken right now?

 

Also, I'm wondering if my character level is somehow factoring into the items I'm making instead of my crafting level in the given profession.

I honestly thought the formulas used during beta were right.  Experience gained by type, item, level, etc. all seemed to be rather well thought out and quite good.  If experience needed to be slowed down some, then a slowing factor in that would have seemed sufficient.  I don't understand the reasoning behind the whole change in the formula, because it just doesn't make sense now.  Even when it was "working", it made no sense like it did during beta.

 

We'll see how the new changes go.
