The Lost Era: 10,000approx-7, 500 b.k. (Before King Andrew)
This Age lasted approximately 2,500 yrs. And little is know of its beginnings.
What is known is from the latter millennia.
The Elder gods: 7,500 b.k.
The Earliest records mainly from ancient Elven artifacts suggest the Elder Gods first awakened around 7,500 b.k. In ancient ruins altars for sacrifice may be found for the Elder Gods. They are thought to be Edsih’n, God of Night, Sh’wun, God of Day, G’ym, God of Chaos, Lo’lmai, Goddess of Death, Hera’mi Goddess of Birth, and Bra'skin God of the Flame, Of whom Mt Bra'skin and Bra'Skin plains gain their name. Elven Society during this period is on the rise but had not reached it pinnicle as of yet.
The Age of War: 7,000approx – 4,500 b.k
It’s not known what started it, though it is thought that perhaps one small tribe battled another in the name of their God and their God was pleased, whereas the God of the defeated tribe was angered. The powerful Elder gods began to send the armies of the most ancient races against each other in what became little more than a great game for their own amusement. Elven society reaches its zenith and its' influence across the world continues for millennia before waning.
The Rise of the Younger Gods 4,500 b.k
Exerpts from the Ancient Elven Historical Document-The Archives of Life
Somewhere mingled amongst the spilled blood, despair and frustration of the lost soldiers, in the tears of grieving widows, young children and aged men, the young gods were born. As they rose to power, the Elder gods were displaced, overcome by a great slumber, a new era dawned.
In their retreat, the five races chose realms that they would claim as their own to rebuild their lives and create their futures. The bird people claimed the Sky realm and flew to the ruins of the cloud castles. The bat people, weary of a world they thought cold chose the Core, with it’s burning rivers of lava and sulfuric clouds. The night people chose the underworld preferring the darkness and it’s hidden treasures. The day people chose the vast forests taking to the tree tops thus they could still enjoy the sun. And the green people chose to return to the mountains from which they believed they first came from.
Left alone and forgotten were the Great Plains, where the war had ended, and the powerful seas into which went sacrifices. And out of fear, left alone was the place that one of the greatest battles had occurred, the desert. Lands so desolate and laid waste, that little could exist within it.
With the rising of the younger gods, a new seed was planted, and from it came a new race, one often called the last people. Short were their lives, yet they gave birth to many, many offspring and their numbers swelled. These last people spread across the plains of the world, and conquered its seas and islands, and wandered unafraid into the deserts.
They divided their newly acquired lands into Kingdoms, where the privileged ruled and the peasants scraped a living from the hard soils and unforgiving oceans. But superstition kept even them from the Mountains and Forests, which they said were filled with monsters and ghosts, thus the last people knew little of the five races beyond the fact that they had once existed.
The Ancient races themselves were mostly unaware of the last people. For as they shaped their realms to suit their needs, so they too were shaped by their realms and no longer were there just five races. But for some, the wars were not so easily forgotten.
The First Scribe: 3250 b.k.
The Creation of the Guild of Scribes. It was documented that the First Scribe was human and had lived during the First Age (For to human kind the Age of Peace became the First Age, as it was the Era of their Birth). In a time when the lands were still volatile and the very planet itself seemed to fight against its inhabitants.
The Betrayer: 2275b.k
(As noted from Elven Historical Documents -The Archives of life) once, thousands of years ago, a short time before The Age of Change, before the dawn of man, there was a great society of elves. Their rule was just. There was a circle of 7 lords and Ladies, each with their own separate kingdoms within the borders of what is now known as the Gothador. Spurred by premonitions of a terrible upheaval. Several of the Elven lords gathered their forces together to try and survive the approaching chaos. A king was then chosen to guide and protect all Elvenkind.
But one day, a solider by the name of Asmodious, Assassinated her Lord as he slept claiming the Ilythiiri throne in the name of a young dark Goddess. Asmodious felt that the former lord had betrayed all Drow by joining in on what she believed was the subjugation of all Fae. She had broken the circle of seven. This threw the fragile balance of the seven-kin into chaos.
The War of the Races: 2270b.k
Asmodious ruled for 5 years apart from the rest of the Seven-kin on a fragile line that was soon due to break. Deep in her dark heart, she craved power, lusted for it beyond all imagining. She took a pilgrimage to the Great Temple of Etharas, the Drow Goddess, in the search for what she craved, but the Drow Goddess would not hear her pleas, for as far as Etharas was concerned, Asmodious had already what she wanted. This would not satisfy the Drow Queen.
She summoned to her the daughter of the old Lord she had killed, who had been imprisoned in a small temple and had in that time became a favored disciple of Etharas, originally intending to free the girl, if only Etharas would hear her. However, Asmodious spied an amulet of great power around the girl’s neck and demanded it. Spiri, the disciple, refused. In a fit of rage Asmodious killed the girl and stole the amulet. In secret, she raised the power of the amulet, which was actually the Seal, which kept the Elder God of Chaos in deep slumber. He awoke and took Asmodious as his disciple, awakening the wrath of Etharas, who did all she could to create chaos of her own.
The once just leaders now struck with outrage and grief, not of their own; declared war upon the Ilythiiri traitor and her people.
Asmodious and her supporters fled deep into the forests towards the Dwarven caverns of the Gothadorian underworld. And in the wake of this betrayal, a chain of strange and tragic events rose within the seven kingdoms as a dark clouds rose over the lush and robust lands. Crops withered and farm life died as the life was slowly leached from the realms, for in the shadows of the Ilythiiri lurked the Elder God.
Before too long the once peaceful beats of Gothador turned violent. Ogres and primitive humans, dwarves and other races filled with rage joined the fray of the once the peaceful elves. The war lost its meaning as it spread out and chaos consumed the land. Within the usurped realm underground, the traitor Asmodious was drawing more supporters as the darkness embraced their hearts.
As the embers of Gothadors glory began to smolder, rifts opened from other worlds. Powerful lords of varied transdimensional races came to the aid of the elves. They crushed the dark armies of Asmodious; slaying Ilythiiri allied demon with incredible ease.
Asmodious, the first dark elf sensed defeat and set out a campaign to corrupt the minds of the remaining Elven lords against the transdimensional race. Dark sorcery caused the wary Elven Lords to believe that their summoned allies, the transdimensional, sought to take the lands of Gothador for themselves. The Elven-kin turned their attacks, driving the transdimensional back, leaving with a vow to one day get revenge upon the land of Gothador.
Before long, after the last Elven lords were resting in their graves. The Ilythiiri leader Asmodious, who was slain in a battle, the seven-kin, along with their demon and angel enemies and allies appeared to retreat entirely from the realms of Gothador, leaving the mortal human race to rebuild what was lost.
The Creation of the Gates of Heaven & Hell: 2240b.k
(From Human Historical Documents. The Book of Wisdom?) The Age of Change was a time of chaos, of people scrambling for power and rebellion against it. It was a time when all Gods fell into disfavor and who in return, punished the ancient races by withdrawing one of the five elements; ether. And with the loss of ether, magic left the land and those that thought themselves superior, found him or herself weakened, and even birthing human offspring. The angelic could no longer fly, and the Demonic could no longer Teleport. Elvenkind could no longer cast their glamour or illusions. The Ilythiiri suffered most, as they also lost their inhuman speed and night vision. Learning to be ‘Human’ was the undoing of many of the Great Houses, some never recovered and were lost for all time. Others remained weak in numbers throughout the passing of time. Humanity began to rise in power, building they’re own great Houses and dominating those who had once dominated them.
During the fall of the Ancient Races, great pillars thrust from the ground with sigils carved deep into the stone. Some say the pillars were how the Gods prevented the return ether to the land. Others suggest that the pillars kept out a great evil. Others still suggest that they were erected in memory of the Ancient Races.
The Little Kingdoms: 2200b.k
Upon the early deaths of the last of the Ancient Races, the age of Man truly began. The Houses of True-Humans and the fallen Houses of New-Humans gathered like to like and eventually formed nine kingdoms, named in simple terms; The Flatlands, the Hills, the Footlands, the Sands, the Seas, the Islands, the Lakes, the Mires and the Deserts. Eventually these Kingdoms would change, altering borders and names until eventually they amalgamated into one Human Kingdom, with one Human monarch.
The Early Reign of King Andrew 1 k.e("kings era"
Documentation available for this and the following in Gothador Community site. http://forum.gothado...opic.php?t=3742
In his latter years, King Andrew decided to recreate the calendar using his birth date as the start of what he came to consider a new Age. Though after his death, the Age of King Andrew was not kept in the Calendar, his birth date did become used as a measure of time.

They say all good things must come to an end, as well all-bad things must end also. Prince Edward, son of a princess of the direct line of King Andrew the Great, knew he would be remembered. He had left his mark upon Gothador. An evil chuckle left his throat, which turned into a rasping cough. He yelled for a servant to bring him water. They did not seem to hear him. All bad things come to an end and he was dying.
Hardly able to breathe, pale and grotesque in his appearance, his advisors had made excuses for their absence. Neither fear nor money kept the women by his side and his ‘loyal’ lords appeared to be waiting in anticipation from their homes, waiting for him to die.
In his hand he held a single gold coin, an image of a man’s face embossed upon one side and the banner of the long dead King Andrew upon the other. He looked upon the face, this was how he had once appeared, handsome, strong and healthy. It had been just a year ago that he had ordered the mint to change the image on gold coins. He tossed the coin slightly into the air and caught it with a sigh…
…and then he died.
It was upon a vague figure cloaked in shadows that his eyes fell. Within it’s grasp it held a wicked looking weapon that had Prince Edward ever been amongst the farmers and serfs of his realm he would have known to be a scythe. Yet even in all his ignorance, the Prince could not deny who the spectre was.
The blade of the Scythe glowed drawing any around to view it, though it shone no light upon the dark figure and the Prince’s ghostly eyes widened in fear as it began to rise above his dead body. It was then he saw the thin fabric of life that connected him to his physical self in some vain attempt to deny his own death. “Wait!â€

He was deep in concentration when the entrance to his lair was opened. Let it be Doc, he thought then grimaced as he heard his visitors greeting. Oh no, not Mort…
They were Omnilords, children of the Gods. They owed their existence due to the 5 billionth birthday celebration of the Universe, where the Gods had called a truce to the Games, had one too many to drink and decided that all that huffing and puffing and bed bouncing mortals did looked like fun. They, like so many of those mortals they sought to copy, hadn’t counted on the consequences. Hoof and his brother, Doc, were the sons of G’ym, Elder God and thus heirs to his chaotic reign, something the younger Gods neglected to remember when cooing and pulling faces over their cribs.
It was the brothers that were responsible for the return of magic. Even the patient God of the Shadow Oak could only take; “OOOOOhhhhh gooooooooo ooooooonnnn!!” so many times.
They were also responsible for the numerous dark beings, giant rodents and other monsters, which was due to Doc yelling to his brother; “That the best you got? Go on gimme something harder to annilate!”
They weren’t responsible for the dark clouds that inflicted the people, though they were blamed for them occasionally, but they were responsible for opening the transdimensional gateway allowing Yvews and Zenix Lords to invade during the dark clouds. The first time had been an accident, but after watching numerous heroes and villains running around wondering what to kill first...and when they had finally managed to quit laughing about it, they decided to do it again.
Hoof had been trying to make improvements to a particularly ugly looking demon, or at least make it funnier for him to watch when someone tried kill it, when Mort had shown up.
Mort was an anomaly himself, sort of the Mini-me of the Omnilords. It was said that his mother had started hiccupping during labour, producing Mortis Elder, the only Omnilord with more than one body (he had 500 thousand thanx to mom) and then she had sneezed and produced Mort, a complete carbon copy of his older brother(s) just one third their size.
Of course there were less Mortis Elders since the Gods got annoyed by something some cult or other did on Gothador, he forget the reason… but Mortis Elder never was the brightest penny in the purse, possibly due to having to share one brain between 500,000 clones and allowed himself to get hacked to death… 500 times or so. Regardless he was still a bore at parties. Hoof dismissed this train of thought and turned back to his work. An annoying buzzing started up in his ear.
“What do you want, Mort?” he asked irritably.
“Well,” Mort started in that squeaky voice of his. Hoof held his hand stopping Mort before he went any further.
“Just a second,” Hoof said. The buzzing was getting really bothersome. He sighed, they were becoming more and more persistant that usual. Normally a trinket or two would make them bugger off, but he hadn’t time for that right now. He turned to an odd looking orb, waved his hand over it a couple of times then turned to see what Mort wanted.
Meanwhile in a Temple down upon the Gothadorian plane, pilgrims paused midprayer as a booming voice filled the great stone building. “You have reached the Voicemail of Hoofmaster, omnilord of Chaos. I’m afraid I’m not available to answer your prayers at the moment, however if you would like to leave a message with the priest after the tone, I’ll get back to you.”
“Well,” Mort started again, “it’s about Death, he’s been enriching the populace far too much recently.”
“So?” Hoof yawned. “Go take it up with him. I’m sure He’d quite happy to play His game with an Omnilord.”
Mort frowned and tried again. “They’re thinking of starting up the Game again.”
“Tell me something I don’t know.” He looked at Mort, his gaze indicating that he wanted to hear the real reason for Mort bugging him now or Death would be the least of his worries.
“Please let me help you!!” Mort finally blurted out.
“No.” Hoof turned back to the demon.
“Oh please!” Mort begged. “I’ve got some great ideas!”
“Like the Iclings right?” Hoof replied sarcastically. “Only they got loose, multiplied worse than rabbits and swarmed down on Gothador. It took three days to clear up that mess!” He didn’t add that mainly he was annoyed by the fact that he hadn’t thought of it first, the little buggers had caused some right havoc! Then he noticed the beading sweat upon the Omnilord’s face and realised he was worried. “Don’t tell me they got loose again?!”
“No, no, no, not Iclings…ha…ha… no,” Mort giggled nervously then cleared his throat. “Rats.”
“What!?”
“Well you see, I was trying out this new breeding program to get some Super Rats and well….”
Hoof groaned.

Be Ye Warned,
All knowledge, other than what is contained herein and all speaking of the name of the unspoken one, are to be cursed. Anything other than that which has been granted us by special sanction, and at great cost is forbidden. And any that shall ignore this warning, and invoke it will suffer the full wrath of all the gods. This is the law as was given to us.
-------------The Scribes guild
Here now again we give warning to all..
For what follows is surely one of the darkest days in Gothadors history.
It is the origin of the worst curse to be brought upon the land, The plague of undeath.
This is the tale of Orine the Deathbringer, he whose name is not spoken.
In ages past when the land was at war, much as it is now. Only then the war was of arrogance, of sin and of envy.
It was during the age of war that a rage came upon one of the elder gods. A rage so great that she decide to destroy the races of mortals and visit upon them a great plague, that plague was so horrible that even today, nothing that has come since has been more feared or undoable upon the land.
Lo’lmai, Goddess of Death, hated the works of all the gods. She envied the purity of the breath that gave unto them motion and will, thought and grace. Mixed in with her anger, rage, and hatred, was also fear. And a loathing of all things blessed with "life". Because to her only the rot of flesh was clean and pure, As it renewed the world that so much was in constant upheaval. And it was from this sentiment, that she set out to find a mortal that would be strong enough to receive her gifts.
First, came the temples near the shorelines of the world. Many a mortal came, weather they were human, elf, or green-skin it did not matter. For the promise was life immortal free of death, scores went willingly to her with open arms. All were found wanting, and given back to the world as an empty shell, their souls consumed in her disdain.
And it was this way for over 200 years, before the coming of Orine. Orine was such a mortal human, that all fell before him. Most to their deaths in fear of him, as his every action was in veneration of her that he worshipped, Lo’lmai, Goddess of Death. He came unto her altar and there, offered up to her the bones of the many great monsters that he had slain. As he did those bones rose from the altar, blessed with the unlife of Lo'lmai, and went into the world consuming living flesh of their own. This continued until the world was filled with their kind, mindless creatures shambling about the world in the dark places, giving birth to new horrors in the land. Then Orine made his final sacrifice, he offered himself up to her and she was pleased.
Orine was the greatest of the undead, blessed with every gift that was available from Lo'lmai. He was a monster to be feared, and the entire world trembled in his footsteps.
For another 400 years he move across the face of the world leaving in his wake the desecration and defilement of many great temples and holy places. Dedicating them to his mistress Lo'lmai, who had come down to the world of men, and accepted him not only as her champion but her lover.
As time past many great champions came upon Orine and fought against him and his legions. And all fell none able to do more than stall his assaults upon the kingdoms and realms of men or elves.
It was not till the armies of elfin kind came together, backed by the efforts of the younger gods, that finally was Orine over thrown. So great was his defeat that Lo'lmai was force to destroy her lover as payment for the pain he had visited on the world. But in the blackness of her heart she conspired to keep her new children. And in the darkness gave them a place to call their own, midnight. Further her lover she broke into two halves and fed them to the two mortals that best exemplified the will and power of her now lost love. One became the first of all vampires that all now go to, to become one of that mighty race. The other was imprisoned in the cells and through sacrifices now grants to any whom would come to him, the gift of death.
But this was not the end of Orine. Lo’lmai, working with G’ym the elder god of chaos, secreted away the blackened heart of the Deathbringer and forged a great weapon. It is said that any undead that wields it shall be granted the power to blight the earth. And even worse, it is also rumored that any mortal who possesses it will be slowly corrupted and will forfeit their soul. Eventually becoming a willing vessel for the spirit of the unspoken one. And it is whispered in the dark places by things unseen, that if the unspoken one is ever resurrected it will signal the end of all life.
Notation.
We of the Scribes Guild believe that the last paragraph is a later addition. It is not known how this violation of our sacred books came to be, so can not verify the truth of this statement as no knowledge of this weapon has been found. After convening a council and much consideration and prayer, we have decided to allow this to this addition to the Book of Ages to remain.

Written in the book of lore,
On how the age of war came about...
Popular history tells us that the war of the Gods started because of the younger gods responding to the cries of mortals. But this is not the truth, for in those days the younger gods were more like the elder gods than most freely admit. This is the truth of how the war started.
In the years before the age of war, the younger gods 30 in all, who were less powerful, but much more numerous than the elder gods of creation, played tricks, games, as one against their mighty elders. During a particularly vicious one of these ‘games’ Bra'skin, the second most powerful of the elder gods next to G’ym lord of chaos, devised a strategy which would decimate the number of warriors and followers of the Younger Gods. Varo the trickster, upon discovering this devious plan, wove a web of deceit upon Bra’skin the elder god of flame and fire. By admitting defeat, then submitting to the elder god, and fanning his ego with words of flattery, Bra'skin was beguiled by Varo's seductiveness, and did not notice when a handful of heroes, followers of the young goddess infiltrated the encampments of his followers and change what was to be. Later when Braskin discovered what had occurred, he flew into a rage and slew Varo.
The younger gods buried her in what is now known as the Varo plains, where she fell. Their tears of anger, and grief flooded the land, creating the caverns of the Varo dungeons. The younger gods’ bitterness over this never left them. And thus started of the war between the gods.
The War itself lasted over 2,260 yrs and ended only with the defeat of Bra'skin. When the Younger gods finally attacked Bra’skin the battle lasted some 800yrs. And in the final days of the war, Bra’skin was cast down to the material plane were he took his stand. A crater was created where he fell, and is now named the Braskin plains. They warred 8 days and 8 nights in the material plane. The ferocity of their battle reshaped the surrounding terrain, creating a volcanic mountain range along the ridge of the crater. Their fight ended only with Bra’skin the God of fire and flame being bound deeply in a volcano, in that same newly created mountain range...Mt Braskin.

This circle was destroyed with the betrayal/assasination of the Drow king by his top general Asmodeous. And the suduction of the Drow race to darkness.

These are ascended mortal beings and creatures
yet to be named or numbered..
These are all i have to date but the total is 30 younger gods in all..and a unnumbered amount of lesser gods, so there is a lot of room.

The land of Reisan is said to exist far east of Gothador and it’s surrounding realms, and is said to be the origin of what we know as ‘elementals.’ Powerful creatures are said to reside in this region, having grown in strength over centuries of wars with other monsters and demons of incredible power.
The north west region is dominated by a large mountain, upon which the celestial temple stands, hidden in mists from all but those with exceptional perception. The surrounding plains are rumored to be filled with unruly demons and spirits of the dead, still threatening the mountain’s sanctity, a mystic barrier holding back their tireless attempts.
(*Good for special events, powerful demons/necros break through barrier)
Despite the younger god’s withdrawal of the element ‘ether,’ magic still seemed to flow within this spirit dominated realm, though weakened by the recession of the element in the other realms. It was during this time that the demons first broke through the outer barrier, which had originally kept the surrounding plaines safe from attack as well. With the lack of ether, those who lived in Reisan were forced to retreat the the mountain, as they could only produce a barrier of sufficient strength around it’s limited area.
It was in this time that Reisan the first Elemental Lord appeared, gifted with power enough to lay waste to any who wished to upset the balance that had dominated Reisan since The Rise of the Elder Gods. These elementals eventually drove back the demons, which threatened the plains, making them safe once again to explore.
