#834269 Current issues + suggestions

Posted by Kaendor on 24 December 2013 - 02:55

I dont enjoy grindy games, and yet here I am enjoying this game. Also I could be playing any other mmo out there and yet here I am. problem?

Its good to be in a game that everything is not as carebear as stuff nowadays is, and yes there are tons of people who enjoy some challenge, they might not know of this game yet. I do notice that its mostly low lvl people complaining at the forums and some that no longer play and just come here to comment negativelly.

Also theres people who believe that when a game launches everything should be perfect and fun, but let me tell you, theres nothing perfect and exactly how you want it in life. Either you get used to it or help it to get better, many of the comments that Ive been reading latelly are full or hate, not like our community used to be.

Yes I hate grinding and there are not enough quests, but hey this game havent been out for a month yet, give the devs some time to release content. AND be glad that HCS really do listen to you posts because this is the first group of devs that Ive found that actually listen to people. So if you are going to do a cirtic about it, please explain and be contstructive, don´t insult other people and the game or its makers that just demoralizes yourself and makes you look bad infront of the readers here.

#834264 Gathering/Crafting boredom dissolving.

Posted by Kaendor on 24 December 2013 - 02:41

Im posting this which is an old comment of mine which is situated in the official suggestions thread that seems no longer active. I am not sure if I´m allowed to do this, but im doing this because I firmly believe that gathering and crafting do NEED something to break the boredom of grinding. Im copying and pasting this old post of mine into its own thread because as Ive seen latelly, people are complaining of the boredom of grinding both crafting and gathering.

Random events would be nice to lower the repetitive boredom of crafting/gathering.

Basically:

A chance to find a small amout of money -coin pouch- randomly while doing Foraging, Prospecting, Fishing, Crystal Cutting and Forestry.

A very small chance to get hit by your own tool -lowers a bit your hp- this would be to wake up some people.

While doing Farming, Foraging and Forestry you might have a small chance to get stung by bees -lowers a bit your hp-.

A low chance to get a knowledge rush in both gathering/crafting so the next item that you gather/craft gives double exp.

A small chance to get a container during fishing that might give a random item or some money.

A chance to get seeds back after harvesting your plot (Farming).

An extremelly rare chance during gathering to get an egg of any kind that later on might be hatched to get a pet.

A low chance to critically craft a piece of gear -slightly increases the main stat of the crafted item-. (not like the current random stats in the rare crafted gear)

The whole point for this is to make gathering/crafting less repetitive and boring (as it can be at high levels), and to attract players further into these activities, as theres people that see crafting and gathering just as time wasters.

Ive just slightly adjusted my post, If you wanna see the original post:

#833368 Vanity Wardobe/Closet - For storage of (Bound) vanity items

+1 we NEED this!. I would get more vanity items but I don't simply because of my storage space.

#827024 Boost Rested Exp Gain

Posted by Kaendor on 08 December 2013 - 13:39

Yeah rested exp is pretty low, I usually dont even leave my character insede an in before logging out, because the rested exp is so minimal that I dont care for it really.

It really needs a buff.

#827014 Do NOT make the game easier.

Posted by Kaendor on 08 December 2013 - 12:55

No Challenge = No purpose. Id rather play a game that challenges me than one that holds my hand to endgame. Wheres the fun when stuff is easy to do?.

#826854 wouldn't Auto Route be nice?

Posted by Kaendor on 08 December 2013 - 02:33

Sorry but Ive played crappy browser games that have this auto route. They are more like a video than a game. You dont do anything more than clicking what appears on the screen, the game gets as boring as a game can get at the first 10 minutes of gameplay. Not only that but it encourages botting, and laziness in a game.

The notification and Pms in a separated tab would be nice.

#826833 Kaen's Free Trade System

Posted by Kaendor on 08 December 2013 - 00:53

Alright we have been discussing wether getting an auction house or stores since beta, its time to end that discussion and come out with a solution. In the last poll I saw on forums people were more inclined to have an auction house system, but there were some people that wanted stores too. So after burning some neurones and thinking critically I came up with a hybrid system, yes it does look like an auction house, but in encourages player interaction, works in a similar way to Ebay.

NOTICE: What I want to end up here is with a solution in which we can agree in a system that works for both the auction house likers and the store likers. Lets not continue the Auction House or stores are better discussion.

This is just a Suggestion.

Heres my crappy visual aid example: (Yes it was done in Paint! you are free to laugh)

Eldevinfreetrade_zps395364e1.png

Now here is how it is divided, there are 5 tabs as you can see.

The Search Tab: Here you can browse the item that you are looking for, it shows all the results from every store out there. The search tab has a drop down menu for the item type, where you can choose wether if its armour cloth armour, ranged weapons, crafting materials, what ever youa re looking for. Theres anotehr drop down menu for the item rarity or quality. And a seller drop down menu (which might not actually work that well) So you can browse in the store that you prefer.

As you can see I didnt put a buyout button, thats a small detail to increase player interaction. Instead theres a Visit Seller's Store button, after pressing that button, you can browse the seller's store, and leave a message or a offer to the seller if the item is on auction, or buyout if the item has a buyout price. The Contact button is shortcut, so instead of entering the seller's store you can directly send a message.

The Bids Tab: Here you can see the items that you are biding now, and the current bid, you can also rebid here and contact the seller.

The Store Tab: Here is your personal Store Space, you can put a Name on it to difference it from other players, Theres a space where you can place up your items, and purchase more storage space. You cna put the items in different ways such as Accepting offers, Auction, and Buyout. Accepting offers is basically, you put the items with no price and you wait for someone to offer you. Auction, you put a set starting price, and when the auction time runs out, the highest offer gets the item. And buyout, you put a set price to the item that can be bought at any moment.

The Contact Tab: Here is the main player interaction of this system, in this tab you can post messages to the other sellers, in one of its sections. In the other section, you can manage the messages that people send to your store and respond them. Works as a messenger.

The Records Tab: Here you can see the record of your items sold and bought, and the money you have made in certain perods of time.

To access this system I elieve you would have to talk to a certain npc, the items bought using this system are delivered by mail, unless the buyer and the seller prefer a face to face trade. The only thing that you can access without being close to the npc is the Contacts tab, which you can acces from everywhere and manage your communication.

Remember it looks like an auction house, but its a different system that might work as both auction hosue and personal store. So Please lets keep the auction house and store discussions somewhere else.

#826514 Warriors Talent: Offensive Stance Bug

Posted by Kaendor on 07 December 2013 - 04:49

I thought that too at first but no, its just a bit confusing. Here is how it works we get confued by the Armour value, which at the lowest lvls that offensive stance is available might be around 600 it migth lower to the 300ish, thats because every 300ish armour u take around 5% more damage from mobs, there is where that 5% comes from, you basically take 5% more melee, range and  magic damage. Dont worry tweaking you build around it, and checking some templar talents might help you to deal with that defence loss.

#826485 Â Â Â Â

Posted by Kaendor on 07 December 2013 - 03:40

Ah, okay. I see what you are saying. I guess what I would like would be a way to denote a player name inside chat.

For Example: (Not whispers, but public chat)

[World Chat]

Player A: Hello!

Player B: @Player A Hey!

Player C: How is everyone doing?

Player A: @Player B Did you get that thing I sent ya'?

I guess folks just use whisper a lot.

I see, yeah thats interesting I've seen that before, could be nice if they also change the color of those letters that way its easier to see in the world chat :). And well at least I do use whispers alot hehe.
