I've only played about a month, but according to steam have clocked up 260 hours and this is the first time it's been down for me.
I started playing in February with a mac, because it was advertised to work with it. After the update it never worked again and still doesn't. I had to go out and buy a laptop to get this game to work.

I really love this game. It's annoying to play it small screen in chrome.

also, if this helps, the only way I can get it to launch is via chrome.

There looks to be an global issue with communicating with Steam's servers.
We've let them know about the issue and Zorg's put a fix in place to to allow normal logins (not via Steam) to function correctly while we wait for them to get back to us on the issue.
Hopefully this is just a temporary issue on Steam's side, but we'll keep you updated.

Able to get in now. I went top Top Lists and clicked Login from there and then was able to click Play and I'm in

There is no more information in this link. How do we log in around steam when it does not use a hunted cow account to launch?

For those still struggling to log in via steam, try downloading the client via the hunted cow website, and then log in through your steam from there. (when u hit log in via steam, it'll open a new tab, enter your steam info, and once you've done that, hit play on the client and you should be able to log in. )
