I wrote on another topic thread some things I feel that keep me wanting to play fallenswords.

I thought we should put what you like about the game and why you keep playing.  I think the staff needs to read the positive of the game.  There is always threads on the negative.

I will start my favorite things about fallenswords is I like meeting people from all over the world.

I like the game content is very simple to follow and has many areas to play.

I feel the staff answers questions on forum and in tickets in reasonable time.

I like the staff playing the game and giving us a place to express what we like or dislike.

I respect hcs staff efficiency in moving rule breakers and disruptive players.

These are just a few things off top of my head and I hope the community will put down what you like and why.  I do hope you read forum rules in respecting others opinion. You may agree or disagree but please no flaming. I really like to see all of the community have a say why the game keeps you coming back. Thanks :D

For me it's the people that keep me logging in. Have found a lot of really big hearted, great people in this game and with some the connections run deep, as sometimes one shares more of our vulnerabilities in this text cyber world I think.

Because of the people, that's why I so like how with FSH I can put my Allies up at the top under my Wanted Bounties list (though haven't been doing much with that of late - and they're mostly all friends on that list). Anyway - seeing the light on of a chum is great, even if I don't talk to that person that day -- somehow just seeing what I call their porch light on is nice. But I am more likely to talk to those I think are online and those conversations from shared jokes, to shared victories and losses in the game and questions of how do you do ..., to the shared dreams and heartaches all make FS terrific.

When I don't know something, it has been the people who have helped: I have learned from so many.

Sorry for the ramble and the FSH plug :) ... Kath

I have to agree that most of what you say applies to me also. Community is a big plus for me. I have made some good friends here and continue to do so. I like the fact that there is no level cap. I have played other games with lvl caps and once at the end there isn't any reason to start again.  I like the way HCS staff are always trying to improve the game. There are more reasons why I like FS and keep on playing, but those will do for now. I started thinking and now my brain hurts.  :D

I'd agree with some of what you say Chaos, and not with other bits but, for me, the game keeps me coming back for the following reasons.

1. Uncapped (so far) content

2. Many facets of the game to play - levelling, arena, se hunting, titan hunting and yes, the pvp facets too (not that I partake in those)

3. Community - made some great friends in here

4. Hoof's dedication to the game. I know it's his "baby", but he goes "above and beyond" at times to sort stuff out.

5. "force of habit" - given I've been playing now for over 6 yrs, I "have" to keep coming back  ;)

Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.

Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

Yeah, I could just have written addicted and saved myself a lot of typing LOL :)

If you are like me the extra practice probably didn't hurt?   :)

And back on topic, we shouldn't forget HCS dedication to the game. I've seen them online on weekends many times working on the game. I remember seeing Hoof and CO. online over the weekend more than once.

I should perhaps add, the diversity of play styles in the game keeps it interesting and the pursuit of medals ("oh shiny"). I like that I can PvP or just Titan Hunt, etc, whatever floats my boat at the time. Actually need to set some medal goals for myself again, as that keeps me engaged and enjoying the game.

BTW -- Great topic Chaos!

Worked in IT for 20+ yrs, don't need any practice typing ... could give a secretary a run for her money at my best - and a blind dyslexic pensioner a run at my worst :)

I'm Canadian, no navy, no army, no offers.

And I keep coming back for wil72, he's my hero you know....oh and the lopsided forum conversations with Belaric, feels like chatting with my wife ;)

Thank you for taking time to write what you like and I am enjoying reading. :D

I have to agree on the diversity of game play here and people to match. Silly as it may seems shiny medals. I think it is nice to see what you have accomplished as a player as you gain more wisdom moving up in game.

@BraveKath thank you for topic compliment.   ^_^

Let's hope HCS reads this and throws more person-hours into this little game....THIS is the Moo flagship, and the ship could get much larger.

The Guild.

The laughs, the cries,

The fall outs, the make ups,

The weird and the wonderful,

The great people I've met, the bad people i've met

The game and it's ups and downs,

The battles lost and won,

The help received and given,

The battle of wits and good debate,

The differing aspects and diverse game play,

The fact that I can drink and play,

The Studio that is Hunted Cow.

These are but a few of the things that make me log into Fallen Sword on a daily basis. :)

Cheers.

Been playing this game since, for terms of service sake, whatever the youngest age you can start playing is. Staying for the sexy people and alcohol.

Hmmm...I have a list, too:

1. The community and guild chat

As a retired person, who lives alone, without FS I would spend many long boring lonely days... But here, I have many many friends from all over the world and it makes me feel like I'm in a humongous family.

2. PvP

I have spent countless hours scoping out players for gold, checking the bounty board, and just playing tag with like minded individuals in my range... this is some of the most fun I have ever had.

3. Composing

When I came back to FS a few months ago, I was delighted that I could break down useless items and make myself some potions... This was a great idea!

4 Global Events

These things are so much fun, and it's nice to visualize the entire FS community working as one to eradicate whatever critters we are hunting at the time... And the rewards are great, too

5. FSP are purple!

Just one old lady's opinion
