So when in a group I couldn't pick up the item for my quest.  When out of the group I could.

Originally I thought it was just one quest.  Or maybe that there were six people in the party.  This problem may be much, much deeper.  Can't tell the full extent yet but it is not isolated.

Happened to Brioche with ice magic shard.  For some reason quest items are producing an error message when picked up in a group.  In all instances I've seen at least one person in the group does not have the quest.

I additionally have this issue. It effects groups and solo play.

well after further investigation it's only while in a party... if you leave the party you can actually collect the loot.

I think it is to 'fix' group questing, i don't know but if all players in the party have the quest you *should* be able to pick up the quest items otherwise no such luck.

 

It's probably because in a party, the quest item drop calculates for each player so there is overall a higher chance for each mob to drop the quest item.
