#972159 Tiered Inferno Hammers!

Posted by Filletminion on 19 November 2016 - 22:51

Yup your missing that coa and cod buffs do not work with setups containing non set items meaning that inspite of the increased stats the hammer is still not a levelling item.

Secondary issue here is hammers used to have +35 master inventor enhancement why was this removed from the upgraded versions?

#971782 PVP by people deleveled dozens of levels...

That's not harassment either. While it may be reported, there's once again, nothing abusive there.

While the statement is True, it is simply foolish for any serious pvper to interact with their targets, at times in the past what has been ok today has been given a week off the next or worse.

#971582 Oidhche Shamhna Wave 2!

You're welcome! Yeah, I've been super busy. Been a bit crazy. Now I gotta look to more content and Christmas! It's all go at top speed for the rest of the year!

There are tons of LEs in lower ranges and they certainly don't need any for the Oidhche Shamhna event!

So does the Bolded imply NO 10th Birthday event?

#971452 Comments on "List of Daily Quests"

This whole discussion about net return etc is why I was opposed to dailies being added in the first place.

Entitled players just keep asking and expecting more for less effort.. and sadly it keeps being given.

Nice to see,  Lag needs fixing still.

Regarding Ruby or not, many lower levels not all have not had the time we have to build our characters and grow stam banks So end up using pots far faster than many eoc's do.

There needs to be some chance for the community to hit ruby or people just do not try. Having a 5 point critter that drops a component for a potion that is largely obsolete.

Best solution is for both critters to drop Zombie Coffins but the Emaciated fellow also drops the tentacle so compromise is retained and maybe a lower drop rate for it.

#966111 Daily Events

Posted by Filletminion on 23 July 2016 - 01:15

I consider this being a great idea being done for the wrong reasons as such in six months I doubt it will rate a mention.

Hcs Does not have coders to do regular updates on their games.Grim is flat out maintaining the ufsg content and ticket system let alone storybook quests Zorgrom Shroud event etc etc missing content quests further set and game management...Who is going to develop and Maintain these daily quests / Events? Or is it to be generic rotating randomly?

And if you needed any further evidence of this just look at this closed thread.

#965954 Stat Changing Skill Levels in Super Pots Are Harmful

I would...They wont though too risky... Maybe same thing with Sigma storm... Fallensword 2? I'd play the beep outta FS2 if they fixed ALL the economy/game mechanic issues etc...

Risk always relative what is the consequence of inaction? And is that a greater risk than Action? Only HCS and Ultimately Hoof will need to Answer.

Thanks for the response. I would agree with you if we would eliminate offline hitting. otherwise, there is still a barrier.

It is a barrier that is reinforced and made greater when combined with composing the game has too many points of separation between the have and have nots already composing just adds another layer. For the game to be vibrant and alive it needs to be available to all equally, The challenge ahead is how to go back without disenfranchising the haves ..

I really wonder how many would stay if the game experienced a total reset with all upgrades and donations reinstated. and players get to start with a clean screen.. all gear needing to be farmed all inventing redone a total clean sheet..

How many would be up for that?

Cause for mine the game needs this infernal black cloud that has been hanging over this needs to be cleaned out and start again.

HCS work damn hard for the staff they have put yourself in their shoes they worked for years on Eldevin for what? Same can apply to every other mmorpg they have.

#965740 Daily Events

Posted by Filletminion on 10 July 2016 - 05:24

So we've been thinking of what would be a good new feature for the game with the following aims / aspects to it:

Competitive.

Accessible to all player levels.

Interesting (i.e. something always happening in the game)

Rewarding.

With that in mind, we came up with the idea of Daily Events. The idea behind this would be an event that runs in the game every day with a leaderboard and rewards. It would be possible to see the current leaderboard and also the following days upcoming event. The starting time for the events would slowly shift around by an hour or so each day to ensure that all timezones got an opportunity to be online towards the end of the events.

So what would these events actually be?

Each event would run for 24 hours and be for either players or guilds. Each event would be along the lines of the following:

Kill the most of a certain creature class (Vermin, Demon etc.)

Kill the most of a certain creature type (Champion, Elite etc.)

Cast the most buffs on other players.

Invent the most items.

Most PvP victories.

Most Guild Conflict victories.

Most items found on creatures (by type / rarity)

etc.

Cheers,
Hoof

The concept is flawed,

It is based purely on repetition and not challenge.

ie: a person can go kill an instant respawn elite champion etc for hours on end with am 500 on.. creatures would need to be super elites or invisible types.

Most guild victories would be abused easily as would pvp.

The game needs less rewards and more variety to allow play that does not require stamina, All of these suggestions will require stamina burns in a game where many struggle to have any to play daily.

#965041 Fallen Sword App Beta

Posted by Filletminion on 01 July 2016 - 08:50

I'm hopeful that we'll have it playable as a beta by the end of the year (not all the features of the game however). I'm seeing it more as a companion app initially so you can play on the move as well as on your computer / laptop. Eventually it would be great to have all the features, but I think focusing on the core of the game (ie. moving around the map, attacking creatures etc.) would be a good first step to have out there. Just thinking out loud on this.

My phone already does this on the full site..

What do you define as poor players?

In any case, this is a free game. There are also many players out there that pay for services, so I don't really get it.

In any case, there are many Guilds out there that help their players.

Exactly. It's definitely a complicated issue and I've seen lots of Guilds that run providing for their Guildies in many different ways.

But yes, you've seen how a guild can work together on this for their own benefit.

The point is it excludes people from being able to play all of the game further rewarding the rich and neglecting the poor.

Creating and ever widenening schism in the game is the problem..seriously unless a player is a pure leveller or they luck into a guild with free composing how are they going to be encouraged to play all of the game?

If this game is ever going to recover it needs all of its players

The point that many of composings advocates are missing is many of us at 60 or close to it are also advocating the nerfing of composing. Other than a gold sink it is detrimental to the game and is doing damage daily ..players being forced to not compete in areas of the game further limiting activity.

poor players cannot buy composing pots poor players do not increase their max stamina how are they supposed to get the gold to compose as well?

Unfortunately the self interested will always argue they need more.

#964461 Stat Changing Skill Levels in Super Pots Are Harmful

Posted by Filletminion on 16 June 2016 - 09:35

The "statement" everyone has access to these buffs equally is not true in any form, players of limited means have almost NO access to composing pots unless they are in guilds where they are supplied freely. Players who actually need sleep everyday cannot compete with the bots that managed to compose 24/7 for a year or more to reach lvl 50 and then 60.

The realisation that composing has made a bigger fracture in the game than existed  ever before. before the haves and have nots.. If you want to compete in ladders gvg pvp you need high level composing you have no choice unless you are planning to sit unbuffed with no care..

That Composing was the last major update HOOF implemented in game, explains why game morale is so low people are sitting in a holding pattern waiting for anything to happen .. and losing hope it ever will...

As players we need to understand the game our characters were never ours to begin with whether we spent 10's of thousands or nothing gives us no more right or priviledge. We are just here for whatever reasons each of us individually have.
