Good Afternoon Everyone!
 
Firstly, we want to thank you all for the feedback you have provided so far. We are still working on a number of bugs, including the lag, so we hope you can bear with us. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
 
In regards to the recent buff adjustments, we would like to share with you a few things that will - hopefully - give more clarity for those of you that are concerned.
 
As stated before, we would like to stress that these buff changes are not final and that we'll be entering a trial period with them. We would love to hear your feedback over the coming week or so, and we'd very much like to run a poll.
 
There are a number of other things we have taken note of, such as the lack of gear options across multiple level ranges, and hope to use this as a way to update other aspects of the game as well.
 
We understand that change can be difficult, but just want to reassure you that it's not too late to make adjustments when necessary.

Good Afternoon everyone, we have a few updates to share with you all!
 
Here are the changes that come along with this update:
 
Patch Notes:
 
  • Fixed issue with durability display not updating correctly when combat sets were switched.
  • Stamina now updates correctly when attacking other players on the app.
  • Increased private message character limit from 256 to 512 and updated other message limits to match.
  • Updated Private Message reply button to use dialog instead of new page.
  • Added notification for Private Messages.
  • Mass messages sent from a guild now goes to the new message section instead of the logs.
  • Fixed various issues with notifications not updating correctly.
  • The skills Deflect, Fumble and Unbreakable are now capped at skill level 175 (see notes on this below)
  • Fixed issue with Titan icon not appearing on the action list.
  • Optimised code to improve game performance (reduce lag).
 
The private message character limit will be increased for the app in the next app update. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. 
 
Furthermore, due to the changes made to the skills Deflect, Fumble and Unbreakable, we will be entering a trial period where we can assess how this affects gameplay. For clarity, the affected buffs will no longer be boosted beyond 175 with skills like Buff Enhancer or the Fury Shrine structure, though it is still possible to acquire a higher level version of the skill through a potion (example: an Unbreakable 200 potion)

#1003341 Potential Balance Changes - Buffs

Good morning everyone!

We've had some conversations about some of the buffs that you guys are concerned about. At the moment we are going to focus on Fumble and Deflect. We picked out these two as they seem to be the biggest concern.

 

I want to stress that we intend to create a trial period wherein we will review how these buffs perform and for a chance for players to give their feedback on these changes. This will go for any balance adjustment that we intend to make in the future. It's not too late to reverse a decision or change it further  :)

 

I do have one question to propose to the playerbase however: What are your thoughts on Titan Doubler? As it stands, 5x Titan Doubler will now be possible, and I would like to gather further opinions on this.

 

We are still working through a number of bugs, so I only ask that you bear with us.

Thank you for those who have taken part in this thread to share their ideas about current buffs in the game  :)  It has allowed me to put together talk points for the team. As already communicated, we are working to getting the bugs fixed first before we can move onto anything like this, so I hope you can bear with us in the meantime!

 

 

Hello people of FS!

A group of players have recently come together to discuss a few existing buffs from the vast Udder land and wanted to see what other people thought (including the Devs!) on these ideas. While I understand these are mainly used for the PvP aspects of the game, it is in our minds that slight tweaks to these buffs could potentially help stimulate these aspects to be more enjoyable for a larger portion of the community. Without further delay, here are some of the changes that have been discussed:

 

A number of your proposed changes sound really interesting! I'd like to go over them with the team in the upcoming week so they can chime in with their thoughts and ideas  :) The Flinch + Fumble combo seems to be one of biggest concerns at the moment, so we'll make sure to carefully look over that.

 

Many of the imbalances in the game comes from lack of gear. The last Attack/Armor Legendary or better set is at 3400, while Defense sets have legendary variants close to EOC.

 

The Count hit nail on head referring to gear beyond lvl 3400. The problem with the whole PvP side of the game is essentially that depending on your level dictates what type of set up wins. Lower levels it is predominantly about Armour, 3900+ it is about Defence. There isn't anything particularly fun about it to attract the masses, there needs to be way more adaptability in the buffs available that means you do not have one trick ponies hogging the ladder. 

More variety in sets is something we'd like to look into. A good opportunity for incentives to made for some neglected areas of the game  :)

Thank you to those who have provided some feedback and suggestions so far. From what we receive, we hope to put together an action plan and present to the wider player base what they would like to see worked on first. At the moment, bug fixing is taking priority, so I hope you can bear with us  :) 
 

 

#1 Power creep, General game balance, whenever we get an update the power creep is just furthered
 
#1a - Buffs (Buffs are to overly biased towards defense. There is too many buffs which play into each other. A lot of buffs are too powerful)

 

There is indeed a collection of buffs that seem, alone and in combination, very powerful. After reading the feedback (from both sides of the argument) over the past few days, this is something we would like to focus on and see where we can make adjustments, or where things can be left alone to play out with more data. 

 

#1b - Lack of Scarcity (IE there will never be enough demand for gear/services and there is also no proper trade off in composing, SH,KE,Coa,Cod 350/480 can be brewed and used for a poor mans penny)

 

At this point in the game, it is quite difficult to make drastic changes in the way the formula calculates composing costs without making it arduous for a great number of players to progress. Difficult in the way of: How does this effect the wider player base? Will this make it more difficult for a Level 25 player, who has recently unlocked Composing, to get some headway?

We can look into seeing how we could overcome this issue, but it is one that requires careful consideration.  :) 
 

#1c - Lack of Gear options (2000-3000+)

 

If I may, can I ask you to elaborate on what you mean here? Would you like to see more mid-level gear sets added to compensate, as there are many players who have yet to break into those higher levels? Or are the options given not satisfactory enough for certain play modes?

 

#2 - Lack of meaningful updates to various aspects of the game (IE composing got an update but it was our last update we got aswell)

There are indeed some areas of the game that are needing a little bit of love. GvG, Arena, PvP, Titans; all of which either need new incentives, store updates or mechanical tweaks. While we are going to focus on fixing what is broken first, we would like to create a poll in the future.

 

#3a - ... In addition we would like better patch notes.

 

The patch notes follow a standard structure, so what would you like to see done differently?

 

Inventable Items.

 

It was suggested some (long) time ago (and met with cow approval) that, to limit inventable items, scarce items were used in the invention process.

Scarce items such as Chest crystalline ('cos, heaven knows, other than "Sword of Emerald Fire", "Spirit Tainted Boots" and "Pulsing Heart Armor", they're all pretty useless)

 

SE drops (a list was provided, at the time, of the numerous SE drops that haven't been used so far - and can be, if required, provided again)

 

I'm sure this list could be easily expanded upon ..

 

We can have a dig through to recover that list, but if you are able to provide it that will be very much appreciated  :) 
 

Instead of tinkering with what working at the moment, There is a trail of minor broken functions left in the game from the various updates over time.

It would be nice to see these addressed and fixed before embarking on a new round of messing with things that are working instead of potentially adding more to the list that is broken

Bug fixing and focusing on what is currently not working is taking priority at the moment, so all I ask is that you bear with us as we work through these issues. An action plan will be created to ensure that we cover as much as we can during this time  :) 

Additionally, if there is any glaring issues that strike out to you as critical, please feel free to share and explain.

Good Morning everyone!

 
Since the update, I've been keeping an eye on both the Discord and the forums to take note of your concerns, and have decided to open a feedback thread in order to help compile this information in one place.
 
Firstly, I'll be conducting a get together with the team to have a look over the existing buffs and see where we can make some balance changes. I would like to address the issues surrounding some of these buffs that have, over time, grown extremely powerful.
 
Secondly, I'd like you all to use this thread to share with me what changes you would like to see for Fallen Sword. What is it that you like or dislike? What could use a little bit of love?

Hello,
 
I hope you are all having a wonderful day, but I would just like to introduce myself and update you all on some changes we are undergoing here at Hunted Cow.
 
My name is Sarah and I will be a Producer working on driving new regular content updates in Fallen Sword. We do have a few things planned for the remainder of this year, so please look forward to it!
 
As for the community side of things, Zue will be taking over as Community Lead with her own Support Team.
