I see no real reason to do so. Check the creatures to are killing for the items they drop. Find one that only drops commons and farm it. And ensure that your auto-discard is not switched on to commons.

 

doing that already  but just find it awkward that there are more critters dropping rares than critters dropping commons

and still think that crystalline should be the highest rated fragment since these items are the hardest to get ( arena only with an exception of a few critters that spawn every now and then) while super elite items can be easily gotten like deathspinner and lusika you name it ! don't know what the opinion of others is on this tho

but i tend to find more rare drops than common drops wich is kinda strange since one would expect that common should be appearing more than rare drops?  talking about critter drops that is.

 

but about my other question wil we be able to substitute lower tier fragments for higher tier ones?

Certain level ranges have a lot of rares drop. Others have more commons. You can go farm lower level common gear.

Sorry, have limited Internet access, so I hope this was not already posted. When breaking down items in a folder, it would be nice to stay in the same folder instead of automatically going back to your main folder everything you break something down.

i know but i prefer to hunt atleast mobs above level 100 so i get 2 fragments i could go to the level 1 area to farm level 1 commons and uniques but i prefer doing it at higher levels so currently checking every creature above level 101

Crystalline is no harder to get than non-crystalline gear. It all depends on the Legendary Event. If the Crystal stock is running low, out comes a Chomper Event. If normal Legendary gear is running low, one of those events will come out. Super Elites will be hunted again, and hopefully there'll be competition for them now. Who knows, the Golden Cockatrice and Cursed Samurai may just return to the Realms.

Will other SEs get replacements rotated in now too?? When GC was replaced the plan seemed to be that all would get this eventually.

If the breaking down of items maintains this level of enthusiasm, I see little point in rotating SE creatures. Any that are not quite as good as they used to be will simply be hunted by players to fragment.

My main hope is that this will help make Legendary Events properly viable again. I'd like to be able justify regular LEs again.

wish all Unique items that weren't Elite drops, would of been changed.. as of now, composing does little to boost Elite farming since i can farm low level creatures for common/rare/unique

That might be your intent, but Deathspinner Amulet can be created using resources from common creatures.  You can generate hundreds per hour.

Curious question...A lot of players seem to want old legendary events back...so why were they ever considered not viable?

I'd love to see the "classic" Legendary events. I remember hunting Plague that way. Fun.

 

Maybe I missed it: What was the rationale for not allowing breakdown of personally bound items, like some quest rewards?

Yeah I'd like to see a classic Legendary Event again soon. Maybe another one where all the LEs were released at once! Because there was so much choice, there wasn't a flood of any set and it gives a huge variety on what people can hunt

After receiving items through secure trade they wouldn't show up on the breakdown page. A common and rare gauntlets that were not bound. Why are they not showing up?

If items can be purchased in shops/markets then they cannot be broken down
