#997626 Upcoming Creature XP Changes

Posted by KitiaraLi on 04 July 2019 - 06:06

This is like watching footie on the telly and everyone is up in the face of the ref, whining and yelling. As if anyone, EVER, made a referee change her/his ruling due to their complaining

Change announced; Move along.

#997438 Got skills?

Posted by KitiaraLi on 18 June 2019 - 12:55

Yeah, I still have our old doc full of new skills and hope to be able to get these implemented sometime in the future. (Nebulous, I know.) I want enough for the skill trees as well as other places. Arena, Ladder, Inventing, loyalty.

Maybe just start with the skill trees? It you implement my suggested tiers (or whatever might be better than 4000+ , 4500+ and 5000+) that would both provide something new for the moment, but also something to look forward to for along period of time.

I get that many of the other aspects of the game also need some polishing, including new skills, but you gotta start somewhere - no need to pile up a ton of updates to launch at once.

#997434 Got skills?

Posted by KitiaraLi on 18 June 2019 - 07:28

So, not to be rude or anything - but are we ever gonna see any new skills in the skill trees?

I mean, I am now up to 4900 unused skill points and none of the few available skills I could use 'em on, have my interest.

I am also over 1K levels higher, than the highest tier of possible skills (and I am not the highest possible level in game).

Also, I seem to recall it was nice having something to aim for in the game... leveling up to achieve something new (usually skills set to be available at a higher level). It would be nice to restore that feeling back into the game with.. say skill tiers for 4000+, 4500+ and maybe even 5000+ while we're at it.

#996617 The Most Deserving Player Contest

Posted by KitiaraLi on 21 April 2019 - 05:31

Is this a reboot of what used to be known as Most Influential Player?
Most deserving is a silly name, since I would figure those with low to no means would be most deserving to get something for free? Or do we only reward those, who have made it easier for ourselves?

And to make this a OP relevant post;

I nominate bloody18. He is almost always blocking everyone in game when doing stuff, and then forgetting to remove the block after he is done with whatever. He has questions to ALL answers - and even though he might not always ask the right thing, he at least asks about something.

#995351 Potential issues in Titan Hunting.

Posted by KitiaraLi on 13 January 2019 - 09:49

Then please provide proof. Hearsay is not proof.

~ Grim

I think we all know that you cannot act without any proof; The problem is what kinda proof do you expect us to provide?
I cannot screenshot another players browser add-ons/scripts. Or.. that would require me doing illegal things anyways.

I know that a previously very active player provided videos of how it looks when someone is using a script to hunt titans - as in; He partook in the hunting, and made a video at the same time showing how some players kept being on the titan way b4 he got there. And he was fast, on an even faster connection.
I even think he wrote a script on how to .. well, script lol If he ever showed that to y'all I do not know, and cannot ask, since he got so upset with the game, that he had his account deleted and slammed the door behind him.
Oh, and the players he was filming and reporting are still in game today, titan hunting.

So, I am sorry, but simply sweeping players claims of the table with a "where is the proof" will not suffice.

#995350 Potential issues in composing

Posted by KitiaraLi on 13 January 2019 - 09:41

Then they are just using composing for simple leveling pots.... Those of us that regularly make useful pots (not uber, mind you, I'm far from EoC there as well)  go through uniques, SE's and Legendaries like water....<snip>

In this case, I think you should speak for yourself, or I might get declined to say "those of us who regularly brew very useful uber pots for both ourselves and the rather big guilds we reside in have plenty of frags by simply playing the game". I can see you have a problem getting LE frags, but I can only assume that has to do with how you choose to farm and/or partake in global frag events. If I knew I'd need 'em for my composing needs, I'd farm 'em whenever possible).
Sorry to sound harsh, just got home from a rather annoying run (windy, raining and cold).

As for the OP, I can only agree that the composed pots are making the game somewhat boring, at least the hunting critters aspect of it - but I sorta recall finding that boring b4 the composed pots.. and the uber donater pots as well... maybe I just find leveling up boring? Sorry, I sidetracked myself - I was aiming to do a history lesson, so.. brace yourself; Wall of text inbound.

Imo the game took a wrong turn at some point, where as those arguing it was "to hard" got the moo moos to make it easier. First they gave better gear (LE, SE), they started having too many LE/SE sets, then the buffs gained to much of an impact, the uber pots were introduced and now composing. All while the moo moos also had to increase the critter difficulty to fit the new level of power among the "heroes of the realm" - and by doing so, they had to deal with a new round of players arguing the game was too hard. I recall more than one critter getting added to the game (not in specifics sadly) where ppl ran to the forums crying faul, and the moo moos nerfing those critters. This was an never ending circle, where better gear, critters, pots, buffs, etc just kept bringing more and more unbalance to the game - mind you, while all while the aim was to make the game balanced.
At some point I guess, the moo moos gave up, and simply offered the players the ability to gain so much power, that no critter would ever stand in their way. Ever. Again.
Want proof? Play the game, and/or notice that the most praised leveling method of today, includes a risk of dying. Not even a risk of dying, but a calculated absence of trying to avoid dying. No defense. No armor. No SSI. No nothing. Just uber buffs to get the most xp possible from each kill. When XP became so easy to gain, that lives no longer mattered - those who called the game hard, finally had their win button. And my guess is, we will never be able to take that away from 'em again. (oh, and to avoid any confusion or accusation - of course I use that button as well).

I could make the same sorta spiral of thoughts for what happened to the PvP / GvG aspect of the game - but I will refrain, mostly because I (and plenty others) have made that b4 only to get shot down by the "heroes of the realm".

PS: Should there be a player or guild named "heroes of the realm" this is in no way related to him/her/it/'em.

#986712 Oidhche Shamhna Dawns!

Posted by KitiaraLi on 28 October 2017 - 06:09

It is so fun only visiting the forums once in a blue moon; Still the same ppl as years ago and they'r still doing the same crying about others being better or bigger or richer or faster or BG not adding the exact item they wanted or whatever is on todays whiner menu. Get over it already. (No offense meant, but seriously.. it would be natural to mature a little over the years)

Anyways. BG; Will there be anything new around this Halloween for those of us who do not give a rats a£$ about titan hunting? As in.. maybe a new seasonal quest? A few new seasonal LEs?

Apart from that, I am glad the global is here. I need the frags, the ZBs and also the chest rewards.... so, something for me to do either way

#982605 ♥ GXP in Guild Advisor = GXP ♥

Posted by KitiaraLi on 15 July 2017 - 11:37

Sorry Mary, but to me this seems like an effort to try and sneak the "tkp going to the player, not the guild" idea in via the backdoor, and I am pretty sure the cows will see it the same way. Not that I disagree with that idea, but I do with this.

One commits to a guild, and the benefits for each individual, and for the guild as a whole, depends on the players being a part of the guild; Not jumping in and out, whenever it suits the player - or the guild. If this was implemented, what for instance, should stop me from jumping outta the guild, clear the bounties on guild member, only to join again? (I'd love to do that, mind you  )

If you want for the cows to fix the coding, so that the guild advisor only shows the current gxp for each player, I am sure they can fix that - whenever a coder has time.

#980534 Suggestion - Player's Composing Level on Bio

Posted by KitiaraLi on 06 May 2017 - 05:48

I see no harm in adding this to the profiles, so yes to the OP.

and make nothing hide-able. We have never been hiding anything in this game, why start now?

Some may feel their numbers are not great/big/long enough? Well, make 'em better instead of trying to hide 'em - or just accept the fact, that not everyone can be the best at everything. Don't complicate simple things, thank you.

#980533 GvG rework proposal

Posted by KitiaraLi on 06 May 2017 - 05:41

I wonder how many pages this "exchange of thoughts to improve" would be, if all the "my nose is bigger than your nose" comments weren't in it

If it at all helps anyone to get back on the trail, big guilds have a disadvantage in GvG because; A. Too many ppl to coordinate and B. Presenting a vast amount of targets makes it take more time to find the ones being hit and buff 'em, and also makes it easier for the opponent to find targets withing the guild.

This is not something there should ever be considered any specific rules of fairplay (or whatever the frack you wanna call it) for.

This is something these guilds have chosen, and they get plenty of benefits from it in so many other aspects of the game.

The smaller, more GvG dedicated guilds, can be more dominant in this aspect of the game. They do however not (usually, not all) reap the benefits from having multiple EOC players among 'em - and that is again, their choice and not something that should be made any sorta rules/exceptions/whateverthefrack about.

Stop trying to complicate things to make it an even playground. There is no such thing as an even playground.

#980150 GvG rework proposal

Posted by KitiaraLi on 25 April 2017 - 14:15

I like the idea. It could add some more flow to the GvG aspect of the game.

Suggestions/thoughts (and I have only read OP, so pardon me if I repeat stuff already said);

1. The top 3 trophies should not be able to change hands!
If a guild goes to "war" with everyone, it should not be for profit, aaaand I think some will try to cheat their way around it.
For instance I envision new guilds, with new chars (*hum hum* multies), or a sister guild in a more GVg sized fashion with paid ppl, that guild then "sell" their reward to a huge "not-a-change-to-compete-in-such-a-thing" sorta guild. It could also result in a huge guild massively sponsoring a more GvG sized guild - again, to get the reward in the end. Just... make the reward stick to the guild that wins it. Simple.

2. Why so long periods? Want this to get rolling, make it max 3. months, including the finale.

3. There should be a cool down period of say 7 (maybe even 14) days, between attacking the same guild. Simply to avoid farming, and crying.

4. Good work from the OP. I hope the cows respond in kind

#979909 YOUR Reasons for:

Posted by KitiaraLi on 20 April 2017 - 10:09

1. Why do you play FS? Fun? Challenge? Other?
Outta utter lack of self respect and pure hatred to all things living, and dead :o  Nah, I keep playing 'cause I made a load of good friends in this game, and they're the reason I keep at it.

2. A.When you play "your style" do you use buffs? Potions? A combo of the two?

    B. What level buffs/potions do you use?
My style is .. uhm... I like to have ALL buffs. They're so shiny and makes a great win button ;) I try to spend most of my stam on PvP, and of course that does not include every buff in the game since I do alotta math on my setups and hate to break stuff with a buff.
The higher the buffs level the better - and that is not how it should be, I might add. That is what is required to be competitive these days.. sadly.

3. If you use buffs or potions or a combo, why?
Wt... because it makes sense to get the correct stats to win over you opponent.. or critter for that matter? If my gear manages enough stats to ensure a win, I go with minimal buffs in case the dreaded 2% kicks.

4. Do you use Global Chat? Why or why not?
Nope, nope and nope! It's... well... I tend to get upset when I have read what is going on there. Too many too full of 'emselves types for my liking.

5. What aspects of FS have you played?

All.

6. Why did you choose to play these aspects of the game?

They could be fun, some could be rewarding - and in my play style book, everything should be tried at least once.

7. How often do you log on to FS?

Several times daily.

8. How long have you been playing FS?

Started march 2008, so 9+a-little years   Geez that is a long time ... go figure :P

9. Are you in a guild? (I do not need specific guild names) If so, why?

Yes. Initially I joined a guild due to the structure bonuses. Now I am in a guild because most of the ppl I love in this game, are there

10. What level were you when you first joined a guild? (If you are in one that is!)

I have no idea. I think I made the no.1 rising star spot 2 or 3 days in a row, then I got alotta fan mail from recruiters. Joined with the crew that sounded like the most fun (and they were alotta fun  )

Fun note (for me anyways); I joined the game during one of the first real massive LE events (MANY new LEs around) and rather quickly made my level high enough to farm those thingies. Made a huge FSP fortune, and yes that was possible in those days; Put most in upgrades and wasted a ton of fsp on insta-stam. Good times B)

#979907 Lag

Posted by KitiaraLi on 20 April 2017 - 09:45

Perhaps I am just ignorant but what is actually the issue?

I have always been attacking all creatures on a square then press "0" and repeat the process...

On the old map, you could open the combat log, and press F5 (refresh) to do another round.. and you could press F5 quite fast and the kills would tick in (with AM500 of course to ensure the spawn).

On the new map you could do 111122223333 etc (or more for that matter) before you needed to hit 0, so each refresh would give many more kills than the usual 123456789 0.

This is no longer an option, for whatever reason. And I am not buying the "it was causing issues with the servers". The above has been possible, and done, in years - without that being the issue.
It made annoying tasks more easy to do, and hence less annoying. As it is, those who need to burn big stam banks on farming, hunting, whatever on the world map, have to use a vastly increased amount of time on doing so - and still run into the old "Error Error Exterminate" msgs, so it hasn't done any good.. quite the opposite actually.

#979900 Lag

Posted by KitiaraLi on 20 April 2017 - 05:44

Unfortunately the previous way was causing issues with the game so it wasn't possible to keep it like that.

Why is this a problem now?

I have always done globals on the old map, having multiple kills per refresh - and so have most others I'd gather. Same when hunting for levels, and farming for frags, doing LE's etc. Servers held up just fine.

I get that you see this as a part of the current server load issues (which in my book is not the real problem since they have been able to handle the load via F5 refreshing for years) - so I have to ask again; Why is this a problem now?

Hmrf. So.. no kick with the boot to the server? I am just saying, that sometimes this fancy technology needs to know its place :-P Or maybe.. kick someone at cloudfare... in the face mayhaps?
