Hi there.
We have not announced anything either way. Speculation like this is not helpful. If and when we decide to have an event, we'll give a week or twos heads up, like we usually do.

Considering how old the game is, and how big some of the stamina bank of some players become, the prior you could give us a notice the better, thanks

IMO, there should be NO notice of an event like that .. just spring it on folk and watch the ensuing panic
Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.
Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?
I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

In my opinion, speculation about 2XP dates has long been an integral part of the game. And, personally, I think it's enjoyable. Peeps get involved, ie... active. It causes a "sensation" that is positive for the game.
So in that spirit:
Last year's summer 2XP began on July 12. I'm "guessing" July 10 for this year.
And yeah, I could care less if it never happens.
Prosperous smacking all!

.. I wasn't able to hunt during the very small window of an event during the peak of the virus due to being an 'essential worker'.. some games I've played have launched and extended events during this whole pandemic.. please give the fallen sword economy the stimulus it needs during this dark time.. the world is changing and there's needs to be more light...

I agree 100%. Then we can watch the over entitled cry a river. XD
Also agree with the sentiment Egami posted. Little bit of speculation never hurts. People enjoy these events and that is a great thing for the game. Personally whenever is good for me.

I wouldn't care normally, but when the time for the XP event is close everybody stop playing other aspects of the game to save stamina, and I don't think that's a good thing as a whole, for the game itself...But just my opinion.

In the beginning we only had these double XP events once a year and Legendary events were few and far between. And if we got any advance notice at all, it was a day or two beforehand. That we normally get a week or so advanced notice is nice, but IMHO takes the pleasure of anticipation away.
But look at it this way guys, do we really need to know that badly? I mean, we don't get notice before a GE, or when chompers are gonna be released, do we? Oh dear, I should have kept my mouth shut.... hmmm ....
Next thing you know you'll want a calendar or something with a whole schedule set in stone.... Really??? It's a game, guys, let's please not turn it into a job where we're tied down with schedules and stuff ..........
Just one old lady's opinion

So you suggest a stamina depreciation if you don't use some stamina before events? Its only natural that players want to take advantage of good events and save stamina for them. The reason the game suffers is because we need more players in the game. Some will decide to spend their stamina on other things besides leveling to take advantage of less competition. Hopefully with the app launch we can get some new blood.
As a side point, if you had just used a good chunk or all your stamina to level or some other aspect of the game and then found out a few days later there was a double XP event in a week or two, you would be irritated. A good example was the global event we just had. I had a feeling another event would follow that would be even bigger so I held off but others went all in and used all their stamina. Maybe it wasn't the intention of the creators for players to have large stamina banks but its a reality. I think keeping with 2 or 3 weeks notice is fine.
Getting back to the original poster, the post was meant to stir things up. I'm surprised the thread didn't get locked.
