#1001455 new player questions

Posted by duktayp on 12 September 2020 - 19:26

I just started, what do i do?

**you have unlimited energy till level 5. your energy counter will stay 500/500 till then. Also, the "death penalty" doesn't start till level 5 (loss of xp and credits)

# 1  ...  "I don't need no tutorial, i'm here to kill stuff."

the level 1 creature drops pants and a helmet add-on. you need to wear a helmet to use the add-on. Starting with level 1 and each new level you go to, make your way to the store473.gif for gear upgrades (like a helmet). the store on most levels sell gear. Creatures level 2 - 9 don't drop gear.

the R button for repair only works if you are at a repair center 3634.gif

you don't get skill points for leveling, only by doing missions, so if you just go power leveling, you will never have any buffs or be able to choose a class

or

# 2

in the tutorial, follow the directions of the "my eyes are up here" cyber goth girl

3270.gif81927.jpg?w=328&h=218&mode=crop&scale=bo

to refresh your memory, click your mission log and click on the mission

1905.gif?1239725209

if you get lost, click the overview map

1904.gif?1239724984

the overview only shows a dot where you are (and behemoth monsters, but that's much later), it  doesn't show regular creatures, like the sprites

this video: mute ... also go to settings , use a slower playback speed ... disregard the part showing ways to get free crystals for doing offers

a link to a layout of the first 5 levels (thx to EdTheHead)

there are 2 paths to level 5: one from the tutorial and one from "not the tutorial" (memory core):

http://ed-the-head.a...VRtraining.html

a link to a walkthrough of the first 49 missions (thx to player Syl):

https://sylenheaven....n-liv-1-49.html

- the only way to get skill points is by completing missions (quests). you don't get skill points by leveling (not all missions reward skill points)

- each world map has a chat feature on it. only the people on that map will see it

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i'm supposed to kill sprites, where are they?

the overview map only shows your location, not creatures (like the sprites)

there are lots of sprites in that area, but they may not be right next to the combat instructor. EXPAND YOUR SEARCH AREA. I went there and found this group

6f73ilQ.jpg

when sprites (or a creature on any level) are killed, they respawn on a random spot somewhere on that map. Since the sprites nearest the combat instructor are always killed first, they're respawning somewhere else. walk around, you'll find some!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

i have a blueprint to invent an item (to complete a mission, or a piece of gear). how do i invent it?

in your backpack, click on the blueprint to "learn" it.

it then it disappears from your backpack ohmy.png  unsure.png  huh.png

actions ---> view blueprints, to now see the blueprint.

1923.gif?1239802596

click on the name of the blueprint to see what's needed

1922.gif?1239800965

brings up the view blueprint screen

hover your mouse over an item needed, and note the yellow text:

"mission items" are usually creature drops

"parts" are usually sold in the store on that level

"resources" are creature drops

components are extracted from "resource" items

(resource items are creature drops)

when you get a resource item in your backpack, click on it to (hopefully) get the component you need

extracted components have their own section on your profile page,  under the backpack section

1924.gif?1239804586

"I have way too many of one component, and not enough of one i need"

***you can "transmute" 2 unwanted components for 1 wanted component for some credits:

Transmuting:

actions ---> transmute ... brings up the transmute screen, showing "available components"

1  " Select a component below to see what it can be converted into" ... click on the component you have too many of

2  brings up a new section "target component" ... click on the one you want

3  brings up the cost...to transmute 2 unwanted components into 1 that you want

4  hit the [transmute] button

once you have everything you need, go to any assembly building 482.gif and enter it

1921.gif?1239801481

entering the building takes you to the "view blueprints" screen

click on the blueprint

the option is there to "invent".....not all inventions are successful  sad.png

invented items show up in your mailbox (pink text on the left side bar) click on the text to collect

1925.gif?1239805916

your mailbox will "hold" the item for 60 minutes, after which it's gone

***on your "view blueprints" screen, you can "add new folder" to store learnt blueprints

create one for "old missions" and "move blueprints" there...you'll probably never need them again

you can create more folders for other stuff

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i need a hertz matrix / pulse line / surge vector ... where do i get these?

hertz matrix is a creature drop:

2412cf1bd6.gif
0.gifHertz Matrix (Unique)   Statistics Type: Resource Level: 1   Dropped By Energy Spike: 25%  (chance)   Failed Cyborg Unit: 9% (chance)

the surge vector 234b072f51.gif

and

pulse line 355d3924fb.gif

are extracted from the hertz matrix. in your backpack, click on it to (hopefully) extract.

1924.gif?1239804586

extracted items show up in the "components" section of your profile page, under the backpack section

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was killing creatures just fine for a while, why did i suddenly start dying all the time?

most likely you need to repair your gear, as it gets damaged in battle. go to the round building with the wrench on top to repair, for a credit cost (use your overview map to find the nearest one)

1918.gif?1239792598

on your data sheet (character page) hover your mouse over a piece of gear to see its' current condition (durability):

1917.gif?1239791589

in this case, even though a stat may be listed as 100 when you hover your mouse, it's actually only 89

starting on level 5, there are repair kits you can buy - to repair without going to a repair center

starting on level 5 , there is a "death penalty" if you are killed. you lose some xp and some credits.

when killed, you wake up at the pyramid building 480.gif, where you go to heal, for a credit cost

the pyramid building only heals health...does not repair gear

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i finished level 7 ... where is level 8?

the maps don't always follow a straight line. sometimes the maps are something like this:

                             4

                              I

1-----------2------------3----------------------6

                              I

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

how do i choose a class?

you don't need to choose right now, though you DO have to complete the crawling corruption mission to choose

you can stay a clone until you decide later, and you don't have to go back to the skill instructor to choose - thank him and move on. the first class-specific gear is level 9 and 10. Some stay a clone for dozens of levels deciding

when you DO decide:

go to skills

1919.gif?1239794226

click on the class of your choice (cyborg, for example)

3.jpg

which brings up the skill tree for that class

to the right of the skill tree, a side bar says "[select a skill on the left panel]"

select the one at the top - the primary skill

the side bar changes, to show that skill description. underneath is the option to "add (skill) points"

add 5 skill points, then click "add points"

you get a dramatic log message saying "you are now a (whatever)!"

you get a new "skill power" bar

1928.gif?1239807807

you get 1 skill power per kill, modified by the intensifier buff/stim (x2 or x3, etc).

skill power is needed to cast the class-specific buffs on that page ... on yourself, or others of the same class (you can't cast a soldier buff on a mutant, for example).

when you get more skill points, i recommend putting 1 point (only), into whatever that class has as a healing skill (for cyborgs, it's patch)...you can only heal (patch) yourself on that page....click on the healing skill and "activate on self" ... saves backpack space from carrying med kits

skill power "decays" by 5 each hour

***go to upgrades --> use crystals. an option to reset and change your class is there...first one is free

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

which class should i choose?

all classes are equally amazing and awesome in their own way. the question we most often hear is "which one is easiest?", so....

tl;dr ... soldier or mutant (easiest, least hassle, least frustrating ,,,, mutant weapons need no ammo! your radioactivity is your ammo)

cyborg gear has the highest offensive stats, but - it uses up the most skill points of any class to use all the items available to get those killer stats (less points for core buffs)

purists are awesome! but - ammo for purists is a hassle (veteran purists reading this will say "no, it's not"). if you choose purist, it may be frustrating to use purist weapons till you reach maybe level 40:

on the level 9 map, the first purist weapon is the psi thorn. you have to build it (unless you're in a faction that has one), blueprint is for sale in the store.

purist ammo is mind shards 8456f3c8b8.gif which are sold in the store...only they're empty....you have to "charge" them using your psi skill power....58.gif.....

......to charge empty mind shards, you need to sink the skill points you've been saving into a new skill: Mind Shard (look at your purist skill tree):

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

58.gifMind Shard 0 / 100  (skill points)

" +0.5% per point chance to charge a full stack of empty Mind Shards, allowing them to be used as ammo. "

a level 9 purist has maybe 40 available skill points. if you sink all of those into this skill, 40 x .5% = 20%...

...you would only have a 20% chance to charge your shards

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

after building your psi thorn weapon (or getting one from your factions' store), buy a stack (25) of mind shards

to charge mind shards:

-go to the purist skill tree (character --> skills)

-for example let's say you've put 20 points into mind shard skill

-click on the mind shard skill, and "activate on self". each attempt to charge a stack costs you 10 psi. if you have no psi skill power, you gotta go kill some creatures to build up your psi (you get 1 psi per kill, modified by the intensifier buff/stim... x2, x3, etc. )

with 20 points in "mind shard" , you have a 10% chance to charge the shards....even with the skill maxed 100/100, a 50% chance

an option here is to stay with regular weapons for now, save your skill points till you have enough to feel comfortable with the mind shard skill

if you have no ammo, your psi weapon is useless, you may not be able to kill creatures on your level, so you might have to travel to a lower level to build up your psi

you can buy extra stacks of shards and charge them as you hunt, but this takes up extra backpack space.

***this is the point: other classes simply buy their ammo (mutant weapons need no ammo) at the store with one click

-----------------------------------------------------------------

where should i put my evolution points?

each new level you get 2 evolution points - to add to your stats. the left side bar will pop up a message when you level "you have 2 evolution points available". click on it, or go to "Evolve"

1919.gif?1239794226

my opinion:

put 1 in damage and 1 in attack for now

a rough suggestion of what your points should look like over time

40% damage

30% attack

10% health

10% armor

10% defense

if you just "put all points into damage" you'll regret it later on

***go to upgrades --> use crystals. an option is there to reset your points. first one is free. The game is easy enough in the beginning, you shouldn't feel a need (if any) to reset till you're maybe level 1 or 2 hundred

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I leveled up and got a "bound crystal" pp_button_2.gif what should i do with it?

you get 1 pp_button_2.gif bound crystal for each level you gain

upgrade ---> use crystals ... takes you to the character upgrade page ... this is the only page where you can use these crystals

Best value is to increase things that are permanent, like your maximum energy or skill power = it's a permanent upgrade that will benefit you forever

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

how do i get more skill points? / how many total points are in the game?

*only way to get skill points is to complete missions

*you do not get skill points for leveling, only for completing missions

**there is a total of 2,200 skill points in the game. there are a total of 440 levels. 2,200 divided by 440 levels = 5. so, on average, you'll gain 5 skill points per level

**there is a total of 203 missions. not all missions reward skill points

#952053 Event token vendors are to stay

Posted by Savanc on 28 October 2015 - 14:31

Every time an event finishes some people will have event tokens left in their backpack. Whether it is because they didn't watch the time and were too late to trade them at the vendor, had trouble logging in or whatever other reason.

That doesn't really matter; people have event tokens left and no way of spending them because the event vendor disappears. But what is so bad about being able to spend candy canes (winter event ends in January) in February? Or spending Doubloons (summer event tokens) in October?

I suggest that the event token vendors stay permanently in Eldevin.

And I think the best way is if they get a building somewhere in EC (plenty of room still) to house them.
During events they always stay at the Eldevin City Central Square, but no need for that if their event isn't up. So a building should do fine.

So far we have 5 events (Winter, Valentines, Easter, Summer and Halloween), and some room on the calender for extra events. So a building that can house around 10 people should do quite well. wink.png

Sometimes you just want the pet to follow while you're gathering mobs, instead of attacking the first mob that hits you.

#947571 A way to get people to play together more

Posted by ernzor on 04 September 2015 - 00:19

We need to get people to play together more, this is one way (thought of briefly so is rough around the edges) to perhaps do that, so that you can pass on your wisdom to others and find new friendships so that you can continue playing with others.

First of all, people all have a current goal of what they are working towards, and most of them involve flakes. So for this idea we will use flakes as a reward basis.

A new type of currency/point system will be needed to earn the flakes, perhaps 'synergy points' (SP).

Each complete run of a dungeon (dungeon mode) you do with a player earns you:

Boodocks - 1SP

Vault - 2SP

Ohdar - 3SP

SV/GC - 4SP

To3 - 5SP

TR - 6SP

BT/RG - 7SP

ASV/ARG - 8SP

ICC - 9SP

This is per players, so if you do a run of Vault with 4 new players, you would get 8SP.

However, you can only earn SP if you haven't done a dungeon run with that person (account wide) that week. There will be no caps on how many you can earn as that will discourage people from looking to group with new players.

These SP can then be used to buy flakes in a similar way to artisan points, at roughly the same ratio too, so over time you can earn the flakes you need this way.

#947117 healer guide and icc guide for dummies

Posted by Removed18058 on 30 August 2015 - 04:51

giphy.gifgiphy.gif

Hi there and welcome to

my healing guide for dummies

DISCLAIMER

I am not claiming that this is a perfect build.

However i do claim that this is a nice starter build for the following reasons ( can pretty heal everything with it, very few mana issues not much to think about during healing just mashing 2 keys suffices :D).

Now to start with the guide

Basic stuff that you should already know

- quick explanation of spells

-dogma: great single target heal with a minor delay.

-crimson chain: great multi target bouncing heal bouncing towards allies healing them.

-dark prayer: great aoe heal heals all friendly targets around you in a pretty large radius fairly long cast time.

-benediction: great aoe healing dome heals allies within dome and applies a 30% damage reduction buff for the duration.

-snowfall: great aoe percental heal heald 5% max hp and regenerates 3% max mana per second to all allies in range and reduces damage taken by 50%.

-rejuvenate: simple heal over time spell.

-redemption: gives a damage reduction buff to ally.

-cauterize: massive single target heal with an instant cast pretty much a panic button.

-force of nature: gives a buff to all allies increasing the amount of healing done to them by 50% another great panic button.

-serenity: removes 2 debuffs on your ally and reduces the damage of the next hit by a percentage.

-Character stats attributes potions and talents

Healers want the following stats as high as possible: dps, healing power, spell haste and spell crit.

This means that all attribute points should go into sorcery.

Optimal gear would be light armor with a staff and essence.

Nifty potions and foods for healers:

sorcery potions, healing power potions roly polies and coco puddings.

Now then for the talents here's the build:

http://TalentTheory....H1I1J2K1L2Q1V1/

So we got our build now how the hell do we use it? XD

The actual healing

first of all we pot, eat and buff up :)

DISCLAIMER

i have chosen not to get the upgraded redeem for the simple fact that it's great for starting pulls and it's commonly forgotten inbetween the rotation and the 25% damage reduction during the pull makes it so one doesn't have to heal up a ton of damage or atleast a reduced amount of damage. if you think that this is stupid then this isn't the guide for you and you can skip to advanced class wich will be given later :D

we're going to do this with steps :)

step 1

ask your tank what kind of tank he is it's kinda important to communicate with your team talk about what strategy you're going to do etc etc. it's really awkward if you start healing in a spot and your tanks runs right past you ;)

if he's a healtank go to step 2.1

if he's a (regular) tank go to step 2.2

step 2.1

to better understand how to heal you gotta know how the tank you're healing works.

so we're going to explain the quick basics of a healtank the do's and dont's

a healtank bases itself on a few simple talents in the prophet tree one is the aura of tranquility wich heals 6% of their max hp per person healed these tanks want their team to be fairly close to them so their benediction and crimson chain hits all 4 other team members to maximize their self heals by 30% per heal. these players also have the upgraded redeem regenerating them 3% of their max hp per second.

do's normal healing with dogma, benediction, snow, crimson chain etc etc

dont's casting redeem breaking cc chains standing way out of reach.

go to step 3

step 2.2

normal tanks are great for absorbing damage keeping aggro on the mobs and staying alive ;)

do's normal healing with dogma, benediction, snow, crimson chain etc etc AND casting redeem during pulls.

dont's nothing really :)

go to step 3

step 3

the tank starts a pull as your tank takes the first bit of damage during the pull you cast your redeem on him ( not on healtanks eh!)  this generates no aggro and makes sure that you don't get attacked by the creatures too early.  whenever this redeem wears of in the middle of a pull make sure to cast it again untill the tank starts the actual grouping up.

step 4

once the tank stops moving and starts grouping it all tighter place down your ancestral spirit on the spot where the tank will be likely to group them up and then cast snowfall these spells generate no aggro making sure that you and your tank are safe.

now then we have multiple scenarios :)

scenario 1: your tank is around 80% hp go to step 5

scenario 2: your tank is around 50% hp go to step 6

scenario 3: your tank is around 20% hp go to step 7

step 5:

your tank took minimal damage so place down your benediction for an easy 30% damage reduction after this start rotating your crimson chain and dogma spells and you should be fine

step 6:

your tank took some damage no worries we start things off with a dogma to pump that hp back up so we can place down our benediction. if during the benediction cast the tank drops really low make sure to cauterize it back up and then crimson chain and dogma rotations

step 7:

panic!! cauterize right away and dogma right after that if your tank still takes serious damage make sure to use force of nature for an even bigger healing boost for a while when force of nature then wears off make sure to redeem for some extra damage reduction to keep your tank alive.

this concludes the beginner healing guide

weird-al-like-a-surgeon-hey-o.gifweird-al-like-a-surgeon-hey-o.gif

with this information you should be able to heal every dungeon with ease

if anyone has questions feel free to ask them

if anyone feels that i might've missed something feel free to tell me and i'll add it to the guide

healing icc guide, advanced healers guide and the pvp healer guide will follow shortly

if you found this guide usefull make sure to show your appreciation with a like and a  normal thank you or friendly reply down here also suffices :)

#944706 Friend List (update!!!)

Posted by ordinaryfunguy on 13 August 2015 - 08:56

I got an idea, in the offline section, it should say when the last time that person was on, so we know when they were last on.

This idea is not really needed in the next update but its just an idea. What do you think about it everyone, do you agree with this?

For example (random date thingy)

#941520 leave it as it is

Posted by Anakiro on 27 July 2015 - 08:08

This bug is absolutely being fixed. In fact, the way is has been done up until now is considered an exploit. We intended for you to have to go into BT more than once in the week, which is why that quest is not a daily. We feel that the rewards are worth more than making a group with someone and spam-clicking the first flag in the dungeon (which is entirely possible and something we'd prefer to avoid).

Judging from the initial thread it also seems this doesn't work for everyone. We want the game to be on a level playing field, so we're correcting the quest so that everyone has to do the same thing. I understand that it's an increase in effort, as it'll take more of your time to do, but it really was never supposed to be such a faceroll.

As of this week's update, the quest will be exactly as it is now. That is aside from the ability to spam-click the flags. If people still feel strongly about these quests given a few weeks of doing it, we can look at applying some of the suggestions in this thread. For example, I'm not averse to letting a flag count for the group. However, this would be a more substantial change to the quest that we don't really have time to apply before the summer event.

There are two other quests that will be affected by this fix. I can't really see them undergoing any further changes.

#941333 Couple QoL things

Posted by AwiesGoesRawr on 25 July 2015 - 18:27

1: Bulk making for alchemy and cooking

These skills are constantly used, even after maxed. Making couple hundred health pots after u run out of old ones, can turn into 20min afking. Bulking just makes this faster.

2: Add 'Do you want to leave Eldevin' (or something) warning message when clicking red X button.

Started to type this thread because accidentally clicked it and my game shutted...

3: Separate buffs and debuffs

Makes life so much easier when u can see what's troubling you. (This can be real pain, while in combat and u cant see it because all buffs are just flashing on and off) - at least please give us option to put this on/off

4: Timer to see when dailies reset

When u get away from eldevin, and decide to come back, u often forget when dailies reset. It would be nice to have timer in quest book or somewhere to see this. It will be handy for everyone, due to players around the world trying to explain when game resets. Same with weeklies would be neat:3...

5: Shop for dungeon gear actually near the dungeons.

In boondocks, u run couple seconds and get to guy who sells u gear. This has bothered me way too long! This would be handy everywhere. Now u have to go to eldevin and buy your gear from champion's hall. Soloing bt and getting relics is pain, when you have to go first ec and buy one piece, and get back somehow (which takes ages to go with Dragon, run to cathedral, through the dungeon - most of the time person havent even completed those quests yet and needs to beg someone to tele them there!)

#941247 leave it as it is

Posted by KeS on 25 July 2015 - 04:43

https://forums.hunte...in-some-quests/

Someone brought up spam clicking quest items to do the quests. Crimson HQ and BT (among other places/quests) was brought up. HQ is hard for some people and its rarely done in groups. While in BT, once a week, the quest is doable and usually a lot of people has to click the flags. For HQ, the quest is a 1 time thing never to be done again and for BT is once a week where people have to run in crews in order to do it. Yes, spam clicking helps to get the quest done faster but what is there else to gain from it especially in BT where almost everyone has to do it. For the sake of convenience and ease, leave the flags the way they are. There's no danger of these items being exploited for personal gain other than letting everyone getting the quests done in a timely matter.

#939357 DAILY ACCEPTED AND COLLECT ALL BUTTON

Posted by ernzor on 20 July 2015 - 07:13

Put another tab into settings that lists all professions and the dailies (that you can reach with your profession levels) with a tickbox next to each.

Clicking the tickbox will automatically accept that daily each day (if you completed the day before)

Then at the trainer he will have the unselected dailies visible to accept if you want for some reason, but the top option will be "Hand in dailies" which will then hand in all dailies that you have the materials/items for.

#939371 Don't Clear Either General or World Chat When Swithing to Alt

Posted by Lalalalalalalala on 20 July 2015 - 10:49

I don't know if anyone has suggested a similar idea like this one. But I really hope that the chats aren't cleared if we switched to another character in a same account. So we wouldn't miss any whisper or other chats/notification when we switched :)

#938351 Eldevin on Youtube

Posted by FlowingWater on 08 July 2015 - 06:51

hello HCS,

little idea:

launch some kind of "affiliate program" for superb eldevin content/vids on youtube that has been uploaded by active players. reward them with a (small) amout of ep for the amout of views their vid(s) get. there is "almost" no eldevin content on youtube that is worth watching it.

example: pvp session with audio commentary. could be funny to watch... but idk since i dont do/like pvp.

thats it.
