You guys have player mods in world chat for fallensword.

 

Personally I think it is needed here for times when filters cannot pick up on things or when certain topics get out of hand.

 

These mods should only have power to give people a timeout and to remove messages. No bans or anything like that.

 

Mods should NOT have a special color in chat cause then if they were to buy/sell things they would stand out and it would give them an advantage.

 

They could (?) have the ability to post warnings to world chat (via a command to make it different to non mod message) to stop people abusing the filter or to get onto a different topic and this would show up in different color to stand out.

 

And of course, their actions would have to be monitored to prevent abuse (picking on certain people, etc).

Well thats me out then!

 

Anyway, was in no way expecting to be one, I am sure if HCS did do this they would find suitable people, I just think there should be some as I know HCS can not physically be on at all times, and they have players here who want the game to prosper and a way to help that would be to have them monitor WC for any unwanted talk.

Totally agree, there should be chat moderators. Choosing them could be a little difficult in the beginning, but voluntary moderators are nothing unheard of.

If no-one knows who they are people can't kiss ass like they would do in other MMOs. Nothing worse than thinking are they my friend because they like me or cos they just want to be a mod too.

 

If they are recognisable it's not the end of the world, but alot of people will act all nicey nicey in front of mods until they turn their backs. Another issue with being identifiable would be the mod witchhunt, there's players in everygame that love to see a mod get demodded and report them for everything they say due to jealousy.

 

Eldevin feels alot more grown up than some MMO's, I don't mind swearing myself but some topics in chat I see could cause offence.

Yeah would mainly be for topical reasons. I don't mind the swears either, but some do and have the filter turned on for that reason, so mods would also be there for people who purposely try to beat the filter.

Well...i posted about this months ago got some responses from one admin saying they would look into doing something like this when the population is much bigger,but another admin said they aren't interested in doing this.

Or...you can just expand global chat to see a whole bunch of the communication. Use "Snipping Tool", capture and save image. Create support ticket under category "Other", attach image, label ticket appropriately, and submit.

If you have the chat filter off, then everything you see in the chat is uncensored. If it is on, then certain words will be censored and there will be **** in place of it.

I agree I have several times sent in Screen shots of some not so nice stuff...

Was told they are working on a Report function for Chat....

No Idea when or if this will get done but I do think there needs to be some form of monitoring Chat....

well if there's an option i should be able to say whatever i please if its off with no consequences right? hence the whole reason of ability of turning it off? or that just misleading?

I really don't care,I don't get offended by words but I guess some people still do.I would only agree if that when I do get muted , I want solid proof that I did broke a rule.,a picture of what I said in the chat will do.
