Currently the skill doesn't do it's job and take the enchantment past 100%.

Idk if I should've posted this somewhere else, but here it is now.

i always wonder about a lot of these so-called enchantments where i think nobody knows what %'s are actually out there...we all know 100% of an enchantment does not mean it will kick in 100% of the time...so how does it works...has confused me for years...it may be a more kept secret than the KFC chicken recipe...

.... especially as that has, supposedly, just been unearthed and made public LOL

Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.

Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

Bushs baked beans recipe - take 1 potato, dice, serve with coleslaw.

It's  about as accurate as most other stuff he did :)

100% critical means it kicks in 5% of the time (one hit in 20).

How doe one know this? One works out these percentages the way RJ used to: by ammassing lots of data and then analysing it. I used to keep combat logs (when FSH made that easy) to judge the efficiency of various 1- and 2-hit strategies and have lots ot data from lots of hunts.

Always has been around 4 to 5% activation rates at 100% depending on pvp and levelling stats collected.

So the buffs increasing enchants above 100% are increasing them to 6.75% chance to activate. 1.75% increase isn't greatest pay for using 40 stamina. ;-)

I'd interpret that as scaling 100% to 117.5% which only give 5.875% chance to activate.

Whether it gives you any payback depends on how much stam you use in the hunt and whether the alternative is to 2-hit (so each activation saves you stam). It also depends on what other buffs you are using already give you that 2->1 hit outcome. With distilled wither 350, I reckon you need to use about 23.5k stam in base 2-hit hunting to break even. That drops to about 21.6k stam if you factor in the added advantage of overkill activating slightly more often when both wither and crtical hit activate (given that, for a hunt that large, it was already worth paying the overkill cost just for the 5% you already get).

There are other buffs like this. I reckon that even now, with 40k+ hunts, I don't walk far enough to bother casting light foot. Even merchant, at full power, takes about 100 wins to pay for itself.

Using data for all PVE battles over 200 levels, I calculated 4.97%; the standard deviation of the mean (grouping data by each level) was about .018%

I liked row's post #7 and applaud the rest.

I think it helped hurja and it's a key point of the game: "Chance to..."

I think most FS Players ignore these things or don't bother to put in the legwork.

The biggest issue I have with helping players, both new and old, is making them understand that more isn't necessarily better.

Certain buffs for certain things is the key idea. You need to evaluate what you are doing and whether it will be helpful for you.

Thank you row, sincerely, for the percentage.

Nice to see that some others can get some benefit from the entertainingly complex spreadsheets I used to construct to work out my hunting strategy.

Glad I'm not the only one who likes to create complex spreadsheets :)
