I’m not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I was thinking, since the top 3 in GE get to design a LE/SE, why not have some GEs where the top 3 get to design new mercenaries?

This is a really good idea melons. I like.
You know who is really going to get behind this? Murloc.....she's going to go buck wild competing to make top three so she can design a merc.......so people will finally hire her 
but in all seriousness it's a great idea. something new and fresh - and it will allow a broader range of players to hunt the newer, very strong SE's

I'm not opposed to this. What do other players think? I could see this being open to more than just the top 3. Top 10 maybe?

Im cool with it but I think its a little bit late,, all the admin got mercs named after them long ago. Mercs get very little use as is.
Could I take this chance to ask again if other areas of the game could get this too and not just globals?

While im all for this idea, and love the top 10 part, i have to agree. Mercs get very little use as is U.U usually they get used for single people in a guild who have the ability to hire when no one else is on and they find an elite they cant beat alone.
Gold / Kill peaks at about Level 310 or so - and then drops again twice - once at 1601 (from average 300g / kill with no doubler/mer/th to 250g / kill) and then again at at 1626 (down another 50g / kill to an average of 200g / kill)
