For all the people that think this will ruin "their game play" because "PvPers" will run amok, this has been a feature of the uncontrolled Fall Sword script since its inception so many years ago. It really changes nothing about the game except WHO has implemented the feature. Now the caste at Hunted Cow Studios needs to pick up the pace and implement the rest of the script features so that they can regulate the players who want to modify the Helper to their own advantage!

Like Luis said this has been part of the FSHelper for a while, so I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about it all of a sudden? The only difference is that you don't need FSHelper anymore. I'm confused what the whole fuss is about.

I have no issue with the change.

 

I have an issue with the reasoning behind the change... No one "forced" anyone to keep adding to their prestige, use it all in one shot just as we have been doing for years.   As I stated before, The Cows should not change a policy due to players changing their style of play.  

 

This is the last post I will make on the subject, The Cows will do what they do.  I have expressed my opinion and voted. 

I respect your opinion, however I still disagree with you. If no one is "forced" to keep adding their prestige, then they shouldn't be "forced" to use it all at once. I think this has been talked about for years, and I've heard people bring it up a few years ago. I just don't think anyone has opened a topic about it, until now.

 medals are stale and are worthless at their current state and several have no place being medals

I'm going to have to disagree with that, there are some medals that only a few have achieved diamond. For example, the Arena Master Medal, SE Hunter Medal, PvP Dominance, Bounty Hunter Master, Smasher Medal, etc. are the few and some others that many have not reached diamond.

So here is my reasoning why I don't agree with this PvPxp system.  Some of you might not agree, but this is my own opinion.

 

Losing xp in PvP is sorta like a tradition.  It has been going on since the game first started.  To the PvPers losing and taking xp has been a thing for a long time now.  So, what happens when you force these group of people to suddenly stop their tradition?  Well let's look at from real life too.  If a certain group of people were forced to change their ways, well, most would leave the country, others would protest, and some would try to adapt. When a change of tradition happens there is usually a mass migration of those people from the country to another.  I've talked to some of my friends, the majority of them have said they would quit the game if this was to happen. Even those who don't actively participate in PvP say they don't agree with this change, because it's sorta like a tradition to the PvPers.  So, the only thing I see happening if PvPxp is implemented a bunch of people quitting, some who would continue to protest against the change, and a few who would try to adapt.

Why do others who don't participate in PvP want to continue to change it? I doubt half the people here who suggested a change would even participate after the change.  I'd rather have this current system than most of the things suggested. Every single time PvP has to be changed.  Leave it alone!

Question:

What about the other way around... most upper level players stay in stam gain setups and are not hard targets on the BB when offline... I see low level PvP players bios posting wins on players in lvl 2000s... so I am sure they will think they should get more PvPXP... How would/ could that be controlled?  Level difference does not always define level of difficulty involved.

Regarding your comment on "upper level players wearing stam gain set-ups", that's a choice. Whether it's a level 60 or a EOC player both have the option to wear stam gear or proper offline gear.  I don't think that should be a factor to worry about, if this idea was to be implemented. 

 

Going back to the OP, I like the first idea.  It seems fair to those who participate in PvP and to those who don't, since those who don't aren't forced to PvP.

People complain about bounties, some complain about losing xp, and many other reasons. Why not just take it all out. No xp loss, no bounties,no gold loss. Make it like the arena. If they really wanna do pvp, there is a thing call regular pvp. Just attack other players. It's not that hard. Of course some people will find this obstructive and not agree to it. But It'll probably solve most problems.

If you don't like the ladder stay out of it! That's why the cows added a Opt-in button.

A friend and I conducted a test with deflect.  It seems like deflected hits can no longer bountied.  He attacked me first, I lost exp, and was able to bounty him.  While, when I attacked him, I was deflected, he wasn't able to bounty me.  Is this a bug or was it intentionally put into the game? If it was intentionally, why wasn't it announced like every update is?

I voted yes, both for ladder and BB. Deflect shouldn't be able to protect someone in epic gear for up to 6-8 hours, and yes, this has happened to me before, plenty of times.

2)Quick wear/recall/drink/etc

3)Group Stat totals while taking a relic

 

Though I'd like to see a couple more, I believe these are the ones I'd like to see the most.

Soooooooo, here's one I haven't seen yet....until today, ALL folks in my ladder range were in the same guild, all 4 of them.  I would certainly like to jump into the fray, but what remote chance do I have?!?!  Why?  Because....

 

1) Guildies cannot hit each other on the ladder (I do believe)

2) Guildies can still collect tokens

3) If say....another pvper jumped onto the ladder, where there are 4 others who can only beat on you, what chance would this johnny-come-lately have?

 

Now, the folk in my range are top notch droogs, to be sure.  But what choice would they have, but to smell raw meat, and pounce?

 

If this has not been addressed recently...further proof that the ladder and pvp needs huge fixes. 

 

***Perhaps let guildies cannibalize each other?***

 

What other option is there?

DP I do agree something but I disagree with others.  If a ladder is filled with players from the same guld, there should be no tokens or domiance medal ticks awarded.  But on the other hand seeing 4 or 5 people from the same guild doesn't mean an automatic loss to anyone else who joins.  Think about it.  You have 4+ targets to hit and they only have one.  Sure there will be greater exp loss for you in the end, but you have more targets to hit and gain PvP Rating from, therefore giving you the advantage to win.  Just throwing my 2 cents in.

 

But as far as letting guildmates attack each other on the ladder to fix this problem I disagree.  I'm fine with it off the ladder, but people can easily exploit it while on the ladder.

So out of my curiosity I thought I’d create this poll. I was wondering how much people would be ok with bringing back the smasher to all 100 stam hits are counted? Instead of just voting and saying yes or no, I’d appreciate if you could also explain why it should or shouldn’t.

 

I say yes to this, because I think there are plenty of ways to protect yourself from the hits.  For example, XP Protect is one or PvP Protection or even Deflect.  Also not to mention honor is another buff that reduces the amount of xp lost.


To prevent the farming of “bunnies” I’d say add a time limit to when each hit would count to the smasher, and hits on players who haven’t logged in the past 7 days won't count. Now I know that’s not the original smasher medal, but it’s to prevent exploitation of the medal. The time limit could be 1 hit every 24 hours on player counts towards the smasher, but there will be no time limit and all hits would count for players on the Ladder or Bounty board. As for the suggestion of the possible restrictions, if the smasher was to come back, is to prevent the smasher from becoming meaningless.


Bringing back the smasher medal to all hits would not only liven up the bounty board, but increase PvP among players. I see this as a positive thing.

*EDIT*- I don't remember the restrictions before it was Ladder & Bounty Board hits only, but regardless I believe those should be put on the medal.
