I don't think you understand the point here. Doesn't matter who did or didn't use their stam. It is a matter of the attitude of the players. Not everyone is going to try to accomplish the unachievable. It is called discouragement and many of us feel discouraged due to wasting thousands upon thousands of stam and never making it to even the top 100. And then we get even more let down by not making it to the top tier. So why even try?

It wasn't unachievable.... not enough people cared...  you hear it all the time "I don't compose"  "I'm only level 2 composing, what's the point?"  It's the "somebody else will do it, I cba to care"  attitude... Part is because, like my friend Shin, the community is getting bored with the same old GE's.  Combining frags and chests was a good start.  An added incentive for those that go above and beyond minimum for ruby tier may be just the ticket.  I saw a suggestion about that somewhere.  A new activity is what we need, however.  I've seen several good ideas in this forum, here .  I can tell you right now though, all the grousing and complaining won't help, it will just exacerbate things... So will the bickering.

I say keep it at 25 % and triple the price to get in i dont know if anyone else notice but multis are playing the arena now to get rid of that rule will just make it easier for them. Cant you guys do a tracking system on the arena like you do on the temple. People will say they are losing money but when you have 5000 fsp and a billion in gold does it really matter if you r losing gold.

Are you insane?  The arena is slow as molasses.... what multis?  They must be playing by themselves... and waiting forever to compete with each other (themselves?)   IDK about the rest of us, but I'm not paying even more for a tourney that won't even start till next Wednesday... IDK how many times I have had to wrack my brain, trying to remember "when did I enter that?"  because so much time had already passed....

Guild names are like player names, once done, they are set in stone unless they are on that list of *unacceptable* names.  It has always been this way, and we have asked many times in the past to be able to change them, but this has always been denied.

There should be something more challenging, I agree.  Hunting is interminably boring, and GE's are more of that, with no XP or gold to be had.  GE's are expensive ventures, since the skeeters or what have you damage stuff at a high rate, as well...  Only those with high stam banks will ever make top 100.... This is discouraging to some..... What can be done for those with little stam/gold to spend to be competitive.... these are the people that need more incentive to participate...

:wub:  I voted yes.  Have a simple entry fee, no buffs, forge and craft don't count either, maybe drive it with the arena system to use the moves, you could use epics or commons or even quest prizes, stuff from shops, revive an old school gold sink... the possibilities are endless here....

I understand that part, Raku, but, that's just a straight win button, I don't play a game to just steam through it, I want to take a bite out of something.  The loss of XP is nothing, even the damage from a 100 stam hit can be repaired in minutes,  XP included, and it's part of the game, just an obstacle in your path.  A "you come to a crossroads and are struck by bandits" scenario... what do you do now?  It's just part of the game to me, and I'm not trying to hurt anyone, I'm just playing bandit because Hoof designed the game for me to do it.  It's what I pay for, it's what I designed my character to do.  I respect the *leveler* for his angst, but it's a game, and you're just not supposed to take things all that seriously.   All this squabbling has gone on for far too long.   And in the end it's all up to Hoof, and I've seen him around these forums a bit lately, so I know he's listening.  Hoof is a genius.... he'll eventually think of something.... let's stop all these threads that launch flame fests and invite unsavory characters and concentrate on positive things, and let Hoof do it for a change.  Patience is key here, with the situation and with each other.

I read somebody had 40 targets toward EOC.... So I checked.  There are only 24 in the entire list.   Many of those are in the same guild.... They can't PvP each other.... so where does their prestige come in? .... Sorry, this is as broken as the ladder as it stands.  BG's proposal for the ranges is reasonable, and like it or not, *levelers* (God, I hate labels) this really needs to happen.  The sad thing is this has never been about the age-old "PvPer vs leveler" debate, it's about extending attack ranges.... AND THIS SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED LAST YEAR, OR EVER THE YEAR BEFORE. This is long overdue.... 

 

 

Everybody's all up about bullying..... I've said this till I'm blue in the face..... THIS IS A GAME.  IT HAS PvP IN IT.  YOU HAVE OPTIONS TO MINIMIZE YOUR CHANCES TO BE A PvP TARGET.  YOU KNEW PvP WAS INVOLVED WHEN YOU SIGNED UP FOR THE GAME....  Did I forget anything?  OH, yeah, IF YOU FEEL SOMEONE IS USING PvP TO *BULLY* YOU, contact  BigGrim, via ticket, or you can even message him in game or here.  He can and does fix things like that......

 

And those who think an extended attack range will increase the incidence of this *bullying* consider this.  I'm assuming we are talking about real harassment here, right?  Hourly hits for days on end, nasty/threatening messages?  This isn't PvP, folks, this is bending the game to one's will... Yeah, I'm against this.  If it's a 10 stam hit every 3 days, that's just prestige, and your name is barely remembered 10 minutes from now.... nobody is really interested in you, per se.... Was it because you forget to secure your gold?  Well, that's on you.  If I saw it, I assumed you left that there just for me...  Lastly, was it retaliation for something you did?  Did you malign somebody in messages?   Yeah, some of us just say it with stam, we don't waste our breath with trying to come up with witty replies to asinine letters from anyone.

In 8 years?  Probably hundreds.  Why do you think I'm 900 levels behind you?  Smasher medal came later though.  Didn't start on that till April 2014.... Took me till July for Bronze, September for Silver.  That with ladder and bounty kills.....

Sorry, but this is not how it works. Not with the majority of what I've seen. Post the attacking player on the bounty board and they hit you again because they know who posted them. Or follow you around and hit you every chance they get. Or get their friends to hit you. Or send taunting messages telling you do "do whatever you have to - it's all good". I have checked the profiles of the people who have attacked me, and I don't think I've seen a single one who hasn't declared themselves a PvP'er.  Levelers looking for prestige is a bit of a myth.  Prestige is useless for leveling.  I can do better with buffs, so I don't bother spending the stam to hit somebody.

Prestige is not useless for leveling.  It's 10% more XP.... the same addition as EH enhancement... So, are you going to hunt in 0 sets and forgo that 10%?  I think not.  Well, I want that 10% from prestige,  too.... every little bit helps.  In stam usage?  For the full 10% for 1 hour, that's 45 hits.... yeah, 450 stam.   Sorry, your analogy is flawed, it's worth the stam.... even worth that level you're going to have removed from me.  It's my choice.... my risk.  I can understand your being a little wary of it and respect your decision to not partake, but it's not that scary.  I level, I keep up with my *leveler* peers.  I see no downside here.  

 

Oh, and by the way, find the statement that I'm a *PvPer* in my bio... You won't.... I'm a FS player, not just a PvPer... it's just one of my favorite facets of the game.  Does this make me a bad person?  I don't think so.....

This thread has descended into madness.  It was never about bullying or jacking gold, It was about expanding the PvP pool for those at the higher levels.  I support this for them.  I know a lot of them, they aren't bullies, most aren't even interested in your gold... If you get all bent out of shape over a 10 stam prestige hit, if this is beating you up, you have the bounty board.  Yeah, I'm probably going to 10 stam clear the guy.  He still loses double the XP he took from you FOR EVERY HIT!  And there are 10 of them.  And what do I get out of it?  Sometimes a dot or two, but usually a handful of gold and 10 Prestige points... My costs?  At least one bounty ticket, plus the costs of my buffs and potions that I need to beat his defense or armor plus get around that attack in case I miss.... Bounty hunters have long been maligned for "soft clears" but many times we get a bounty for that and can even lose levels, too....  Do I fear?  No, it's another facet of the game... the risk.   No, the target doesn't *choose* to PvP, but that guy isn't playing the whole game.   People are afraid to hit back because they don't want to lose all their hard work.  Well, I don't like to lose levels for successfully pulling somebody off the board, either, but I'm not going to clamor for Hoof to break the game by taking counter-bounties away.   A handful of XP for 1 prestige hit pales in comparison.  And in the end, that's what this is about.  Leefy doesn't want the attack range increased to go out and beat people up.  None of us do, really.

If somebody is really bullying you, whether or not you have PvP protection or not won't make a bit of difference.  Bullying is meant to terrorize, XP or gold are not needed to make this happen, just the attacks themselves will do this, and these should be brought to the attention of the cow gods if you feel this is happening.  I believe such actions should be dealt with swiftly and harshly, such players give the rest of us a bad name, and I am disgusted by such behavior.  Stealing your gold, that's not bullying, that's just robbery.... We have the bounty board for that...  And a prestige hit is merely that, 10 stam to get 10 prestige points.  They aren't personal, but bullying is..... See the distinction here?

Somebody explain to me how stealing your gold is bullying you out of the game?  It's a game, we get to be bandits if we wish... you don't want to be robbed, be prepared.  You don't go around irl with your bankroll in your hand for the next mugger to see, you stick it in your wallet and hide it in your pocket or purse. You have the same options here, bank it, send it away, convert it to dots.  Please, let's not confuse a little highway robbery with bullying, these are separate issues that rarely are connected except that PvP is used for both ends.   Bullying needs to go, so that PvP can be alive and vibrant again.  IDK how this can be accomplished, I don't envy the boss that task.  But stealing gold, that's an important factor in this game, it needs to be left as is (well, increase the average amount of gold stolen, that would be nice :D )

I don't want "safe" PvP, and I don't think leefy does either.  I have "safe" PvP... I GvG for my guild every weekend.  It's kind of fun, but not near as rewarding as run of the mill PvP.  The XP loss, the risk of the bounty, just add to the excitement.  Hoof has already said that XP loss will remain unchanged.  The debate about that was heated, and although I can understand both sides, I  still took a lot of heat about my opinion on that matter.  I won't rehash that here, some of the messages were nasty and downright rude, and I cba to have to look at such again.  This isn't about those things however, and I won't debate them further.  This will be my last post here, so I'll make it good:

 

I support this idea.  An increase in attack ranges for the higher levels is long overdue, like years long overdue.  The last increase was in 2009 (?)  and EOC was less than half what it is now.   FS has grown, attack ranges really need to grow with it.   Give the big dogs equal opportunities to appear on the bounty board, if that's what they want....  and if you don't want to be hit, buy PvP protection and put away your gold.  Unless you are actively provoking one and bringing attention to yourself, your odds of being singled out by a so-called PvP "bully" are actually quite small... and if you already have one of those, this kind of update really doesn't change things, now does it?
