Reduce the XP loss in general for players.. Specially those over a certain level, which can be adjusted. I'd say reduce the XP loss for players over level 500.
Maybe this will help out with players not wanting to PvP... idk, just an idea

Also have a modifier for activity.
Rating- 50(25-hours inactive/25) + the rating difference modifier.
After 25 hrs inactive no rating gained. 25 is used for ease of the equation and thus you lose 2 rating per hour to promote hitting online players. Also you can still hit them past the 25rating hours you would just lose rating instead of gaining it.

True, pvp has always had risk, but the reward part is on the ladder, which this thread is about. And you can still pvp without taking exp cant you? I know conserve works just fine. The opt in is included in this current proposal, at least from what i see on the 1st post. The opt in should stay, it's the only thing saving real pvp right now. I know i'm not the only pvper that doesn't want to play the ladder mini-game. My suggestion would make the real pvpers and the levelers happy. And let the ladder players get their hits in.How about a separate attack box for players opted into the ladder It would allow ladder players to take pvp points but not experience from those not opted in.. While the regular pvpers could take gold and exp as usual.
There shouldnt be an opt in or out. Plain and simple.
PvP has always been about risk and reward. Reducing pvp hits to No xp = No risk, Kills pvp.
The whole idea was to show who pvps. If you hit someone your on that leaderboard.

This would increase the hitters needed to delevel and defend players. Thus defeating the purpose of the BB. We want more to defend their guildies and friends. Not for them to shrug it off due to not having 9 hitters to take 5 levels.
My idea of less xp lost for those with 0 rating is an ideal medium.

this gives leveling players less to whine about...they lose LESS xp and can still properly punish the attacker

.
A pvp ladder should show all activities and aspects of pvp. If you attack someone your on it. One system. Not two separate systems. Both my and hors ideas stated from the beginning that EVERY act of pvp should show on a ladder/leaderboard.

Hello. All of the PvP'ers are still ignoring the basic question not asked originally by me, but by someone else. What does a PvP'er gain, when attacking a person with 0 rating (under this new system), who is not an active PvP participant but mainly a leveler who has done nothing to "deserve" this attack, by having their victim lose XP? Hor, Mae, LawDog, someone, please answer that, ok? Thanks a lot!!
Until the details are worked out I am not sure anyone can answer that question.
Aw, come on, that's such a cop out. What do you get from it? How does it benefit you? And if it doesn't, then what would be the problem if people who have not chosen to participate in PvP do not lose any XP when you hit them simply to get some rating or to steal their gold?
