If you're talking about the horse mounts, then I believe that pets and horses do not die.

Remember pets aren't just for Christmas, you can put them in the freezer to eat later on as well.

LOL, I know that may have been a serious question since in some other games pets and mounts may not be permanent but for some reason this made me giggle.    

 

Nope in this game pets and mounts are perm and you don't have to feed them either ( the way some games make you do that).

 

Also just adding in case this comes up with newbies as well:

 

Pets and Mounts of different varieties can be obtained in a number of ways, there are pets you can gain from certain achievements, pets available in the shop for both EP and gold,  pets you can get from holiday events, pets earned with prestige points ( these are gained through level 25 dailies one can to do save up for that pet), a pet can be purchased with loyalty points ( those are received daily as a login in reward and accumulate over time).  

 

Mounts : Some can be purchased with gold in shop, EP mounts also found in shop, Holiday event mounts, There is a mount for prestige points ( 25 level dailies), there are mounts that will drop from certain bosses ( carpet at boondocks, Troll 45 lvl boss, Temple of Three (dungeon), Valor Points mount ( again those are collect from pvp activities), Crafted mounts, There is one mount you gain after completing a level 48 quest line to gain access to Cronnach Castle bosses as a reward for completion....

 

anyway many ways to get different kind of mounts and pets, that gives you an idea on the variety.

 

Pets are just vanities, they do not give you stats or pick up items for you.

 

Mounts do not have speeds, you gain speed by paying with gold from the shop or riding trainer to upgrade from level 1-3 Riding skill and highest speed is 60%.  Riding skill costs a very small fee at lvl 1 then goes to 250 gold and last is 500 gold.

 

Once you obtain whatever level of speed you purchase it is on all your mounts on that character you purchased it on. 

 

It is not account wide so you have to purchase Riding skills on each character as you like.

 

You can't not ride any mount at all until you purchase Riding Skill level 1 ( cost is 1 gold, basic starter disc is 5g at riding trainer in ec or shop).

 

Welp thought I'd cover some of that for newbies.

Isn't ridibg level 3 1000 gold?

And you can obtain mounts from steam packages. Those mounts arw available for all chars same time in your account. Means: buy one package with 1 rhinotaur and all your chars can use it.

oh yah maybe it's that, thanks El. 

 

and yah that rhino is great because it's acct wide, also the wings you get for having 10 mounts on one character ( acheivement) which is the green wings is account wide.
