#807978 FREE BUFFS ARE BACK

Posted by MosesChen on 22 August 2013 - 23:19

You could say global chat is...A New Hope :).

I thought I was going to have to actually find buffs and spend a fortune to train :P.

#807972 What are you doing?

Posted by MosesChen on 22 August 2013 - 22:51

Formatted and reinstalled Windows. Now I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and it's genuine. I feel so free and clean.

#806987 Graphics of the Week?

Posted by MosesChen on 18 August 2013 - 01:06

We see you gheto o.o. We know you want in.

EDIT: I'll advertise it in the FS Box along with my auction haha. I'll do it a different day since I bought a Shoutbox message today before I thought of this. I was visiting the Accomplishments section of the Fallen Sword section when I saw some old SOTW things.

#806978 Graphics of the Week?

Posted by MosesChen on 17 August 2013 - 23:36

So I remember there used to be SOTW (Sig of the Week) events. They were pretty cool and brought the graphics community together with voting and prizes. If we could do something like that again, I think it would be really cool. Signatures don't really seem that popular right now on the forums, but maybe we could bring them back haha. Avatar of the Week seems like a better competition and we could run it every other week or something if it's too much to handle every week.

To get something like this running we would need people to run it, participate in it, and donate to the cause. I would be happy to help. For each competition we would specify a theme (and maybe if we're allowing  animated or not for that contest) and gather the submissions. Then we open a thread and post the submissions anonymously and have people vote on them. Perhaps we could split the prizes and have 1st, 2nd, 3rd. This will probably depend on the size of the prize pot for that week.

Anyone interested? :)

Specify which areas you would be part of please! Thank you.

#806096 Desktop Peek-a-boo

It's usually empty except for the Recycle Bin, Stuff, and Music folders. I've been lazy about organizing though. The wallpaper scrolls through nerdy, computer geek wallpapers.

#805872 How to view and make animated avatars/APNG's

Posted by MosesChen on 12 August 2013 - 16:23

Some people have asked about how avatars are animated and why they can't see them. Here is some information on APNG's.

APNG's are .png image files that are animated, like .gif files.

I personally use APNG Anime Maker, but there is other software out there.

APNG Software:

1. RealWorld Paint: http://www.rw-design...om/image-editor

2. VirtualDub APNG Mod: http://vdubapngmod.sourceforge.net/

3. APNG Anime Maker: https://sites.google...png-anime-maker

4. Japng Editor: https://www.reto-hoehener.ch/japng/ (Requires Java)

5. GIF Movie Gear: http://www.gamani.com/apng.htm

6. gif2apng: http://gif2apng.sourceforge.net/ (Converts .gif files into animated .png files)

7. apng2gif: http://apng2gif.sourceforge.net/ (Converts animated .png files to .gif files)

8. APNG Optimzer: http://sourceforge.n...APNG_Optimizer/ (Optimizes existing APNG's)

9. TweakPNG: http://entropymine.com/jason/tweakpng/ (Can modify APNG's)

This was just some simple opacity changing with lightning for example. You can do things like movement, rotation, and more. Sometimes if you make more complex animations, use Apply Image to capture each frame as it's own layer and then show/hide them accordingly.

Here since it was simple rotation, I just had different layers of the rasenshuriken that I would show/hide each frame:

Lerijs13_zps5a7a385b.png

Here since it's skewed and I changed some other things, I applied the image each time I wanted a different frame and just showed/hid those layers accordingly:

It's the same concept, just on a different scale. Sorry if I'm just confusing you, ignore me :P.
