#857967 Bot solution

Posted by l3fty on 27 March 2014 - 09:59

If you find a bot while I'm in-game whisper me and I'll take a look. My game name is the same as this :)

What I suggest is that these mobs do little to no damage, so that when people are intentionally afk, they won't be killed by them, but bots will be stopped from mining. It's a good concept, and it might work. Alternatively, there could be player moderators, and when they have reports of a bot, they could have direct contact with the admins so that they'll respond faster.

#857595 Vanity for Proffesions

I wouldn't mind looking sophisticated in a labcoat and safety glasses. Imagine if jewlery was a pimp outfit with all that bling bling lol.

I would like to see Vanity clothes for all proffesions for example for Alchemy , the set would be a labcoat or something, Fishing would be a straw hat with overalls and mud boots.Maybe get this at the max level of the skill or even give them a set ability like alchemy has a 5% chance to make a second potion for free? Nothing combat wise though. You can even give existing vanitys a set stat like the Santa set would allow you to do a special emote or something.

#856640 Eldevin Army/Mage Quests

Posted by Zshmaendal on 20 March 2014 - 18:07

The Army and Mage quests need a bit of attention.

I believe that I read somewhere the players were, initially, going to pick one of the two quest lines - and if that's the case it sure seems that way. There are a number of times where these two questlines become cumbersome or difficult to players or decrease the strength of the storyline.

For example

1) Getting into Illaneska: It seems as though people taking different questlines were originally going to get to Illaneska at different levels (one via the main boat, one via the ferry guy just north of Crannoch) - which is cool. However, when doing both quest lines it becomes a bit strange. You can travel to Illaneska one way but not the other. Then you're doing quests to get into Illaneska when you already can get there. Which is weird.

2) Illaneska plague quests: These become strange because the quests are literally exactly the same. While in the warehouse you click on each plague barrel one time through for one quest, and then one time through for the second quest. When talking to NPCs (like the harbormaster who gives the quests) you essentially tell him you did something once and get a reward, and then tell him the same thing again and get another reward.

3) Enziostein: In two times of playing through these quests I've managed to go long enough in the army questline to "break" the wall in his room, but then I have to come back for the mage quest to talk to Enzio - and the wall is back. I remember there being a glitch in beta because of this - I think it's fixed now, but it's still weird to see the wall there, and then return again.

In addition there are a few more instances that I've forgot but were similarly weird. (Edit: I remember that the Yaroda Grove quests were weird, too. You essentially destroy the plagued thing twice - and the room changes when you go in. Bad for cohesion/realism.)

Possible fixes:

1) Make players pick one or the other and double the xp gain of both. This might be the best idea. Add in some melee/ranged/mage rewards in the other line incase players decide to choose one and then switch spec. This would also enhance replayability for new players as they would have a somewhat different experience playing through as mage or as melee/ranged.

2) Remove some of the egregious double quests and add their xp and rewards to the "other" quest (i.e., make just one "visit the plagued warehouse" quest that rewards mage/melee/ranged ring). This destroys some of the roleplay of picking to side with army vs. mage. I'm sure that, since it seems like HCS changed the way the army/mage quests worked during development, that this was the intended way for things to go.

Either way I think they need a bit of TLC. :) Thanks.

#840075 Heroic Crafting - Quested or Raid Dropped Recipe Scrolls

Posted by Smak on 12 January 2014 - 16:55

I suggest,

That there be recipies added that would not normally be shown on the tradeskill menus, unless they have been located and scribed.

I would like them to be part of long and involved questlines that take great effort or time to complete. Alternatively, they could be gained be completing nearly every achievement, or found as very very rare drops from chests at the end of raid bosses.

Some could be easier to attain and be vanity tradeskill combines, others could be found by completing very long and twisted tradeskill quests, and the very rarest should only drop perhaps 1-3 times ever.

So the artisan, who obtains these "blueprints" would be the sole source of the items crafted.

These weapons or armors should have 5-10% more power, or special effects than any other item that could be found by brute force and tenacity.

#839078 New classes [Ideas]

Posted by Dillias on 09 January 2014 - 22:18

I like the current classes but i feel they are too basic. The options are so boring (DPS/Tank/Healer). I feel like this game would benefit greatly with more variety of classes.

Synergist - Basically a supporting class that specializes in short duration single target buffing spells (life-steal, damage, move-speed, haste, attack speed, a shield that absorbs damage based on a % of spell power etc)

Summoner/Beast master - A class that specializes in summoning different monsters to fight along side them (each summon lasts 10-15 seconds with a max amount being able to be controlled a time, summons have mage/ranged/melee basic attacks depending on what is summoned. May also temporarily control an enemy or enemies to fight along side them etc)

Songstress - A class that specializes in debuffing enemies (e.g haste reduction, move-speed reduction, damage reduction, attack speed reduction, silences, fears

Monk - A melee class that fights with their fists (weapon used can be a special kind of gloves or something)

Just my suggestion that the game needs more variety. This will allow a different mixture of teams for dungeons/pvp etc

Feel free to leave your opinion below or make an idea of your own class.

#837064 Equalize supporter and non-supporter vendor prices.

Posted by huhbum on 03 January 2014 - 10:17

Well I guess people will want the Quest money evened up also... Last quest I did paid me 13s 68b.. Non supporter would get 10s 42b..  Sorry this doesn't cause imbalance at all.. You want the extra cash the pay out  the supporter money..  That is what is Fair nothing more.. Like I said I see this Nonsense in every game some one is not paying a sub fee and cries foul...  I can care less who spends how much.. HCS will get my money every month... How about yours??? Until then stop with the imbalance BS... It is called get what you pay for....

Please do not use a slippery-slope logical fallacy to claim that I am asking for something that I am, in fact, not suggesting. Nowhere in this thread do I suggest changing any of the other Supporter perks; in fact, several times I claim that they are just fine. If others suggest changing them, I will still say they are just fine.

Also, if you read my previous post, you will note that HCS also gets my money, and happily so. I think they are a great company based on my experience with them. I think they have created a great game based on my experience playing it.

I'm sorry you disagree so strongly with my post. You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion.

In rebuttal I will simply state that while you are certainly entitled to disagree, you have not offered any counter-argument other than stating that people who want a level playing field must pay. I agree to an extent: the F2P model must have distinct advantages to paying players, and subscription services are a good way to offer said advantages. I disagree that this does not cause any imbalances. It absolutely creates imbalances, many of which are acceptable based on the business model of the game, because I do understand that ultimately a game service is a business and HCS must have their game be profitable to continue the game service. I absolutely want people to subscribe to the game and get rewarded for supporting a good company. However, there is a balance that must be struck when offering incentives, and I think having a vendor price perk is too much of an advantage, in that it skews the game too far in favor of paying players, which I do not feel is healthy for the game economy and gameplay as a whole.

#835060 A meta-suggestion for the suggestion forum.

Posted by WowRefugee on 27 December 2013 - 12:54

I was about to post a suggestion about ways to mitigate the crafting grind, while still making special items harder to get, when I realized that I might be wasting my time. Not because suggestions here are ignored by HCS (they aren't), but because I didn't have a clear idea why HCS increased the crafting grinds so much for release, and therefore if any particular suggestion I made would fit into the overall vision that HCS has of how the game should be (and therefore have a chance to be implemented in some fashion by HCS).  I realized that this lack of understanding drives a lot of the discussion (and confusion) on this forum, especially when newer people come on, play a little, and then start making suggestions based on other similar games they have played and liked.  Often, the beta founding players will then respond in various dismissive ways because they have been around and seen (or read in beta forum posts now hidden) what kind of changes HCS will, are planning, or won't ever do.  But the beta players don't know everything (as if!), there are still many gray areas.

So what I am suggesting is an effort by someone on the HCS team to make this more transparent.  To describe their design goals for various aspects of the game, the constraints and and the pitfalls they are trying to avoid.  Other games that various members of the team have played and the various aspects in those games that they like or dislike.  Lessons learned from the other games that they developed, and how that affects their design ideas.

This would include posting responses to suggestions, giving informative feedback on ones that are interesting and on those that are clear misses.  This is to assist the community in making better suggestions.

#834077 Current issues + suggestions

Posted by Neon on 23 December 2013 - 16:16

So, half the EU server has me on ignore because I'm right and they don't want to hear the truth but the devs have to know this as well ( if they don't already ).

Half the EU server has you on ignore because you're an arrogant troll who thinks he knows better than anyone else, and anyone that doesn't agree with you has a "low IQ".

I think you would have your suggestions more valued by the community if you weren't acting like a little child.

Next time you start to write in the world chat or make a post on the forums I suggest you refrain from writing stuff like this:

So, half the EU server has me on ignore because I'm right and they don't want to hear the truth but the devs have to know this as well ( if they don't already ).

Devs, don't read the comments, as all comments will be made by current active players, and all my suggestions are for players who don't like the game as it is right now and probably won't be reading this as they gave up on Eldevin like all my buddies did.

Current Player Base consists of people who:

Play 10-16 hours a day ( If you only play 2 hours a day you don't want to spend the next 10 days trying to get forestry from 10 to 16 )

Have the ability to put their brain on stand-by while grinding ( Probably very low IQ. No offence. )

Bot/Macro ( I honestly think this game is made for botters, because no human brain can grind this much without suffering permanent brain damage )

#825589 Official Stance on Bots

Posted by Mojawk on 05 December 2013 - 14:24

Hey folks,

Just wanted to make it clear that we do not allow using any sort of bot.

A bot (or afk macro gaming) is a method of controlling an character by an automated means that does not require direct interaction from a player.

If you suspect a character is being played by a bot, please submit a ticket with the username of the suspected bot to https://www.huntedcow.com/support

If one of our Game Masters visits you, please respond to them, if you don't respond in an appropriate time and they deem you to be a bot your account will be suspended from the game for up to a week and a warning issued. If this happens again your account will be permanently suspended from the game.

#828857 You should lower gear repair cost

Posted by Raishin on 10 December 2013 - 17:15

you should stop dying ;p

and make gold from drop(like rare items)

i always have 5-10 from 1 day of play(1-4 gold - from deaths)

and i have 1-6 gold for me ;p

#828830 You should lower gear repair cost

Posted by joeyfox on 10 December 2013 - 16:30

3-4 gold on repairs, are you diying a lot or somthing? I use heavy armor myself and am a tank, so my armor gets worn down more than some players, but that repair prices seem excessive unless your waiting till everything is nearly destroyed and the only reason I can see for doing this, would be repeating dungeons with bad groups or somthing and lots of deaths :S

Nothing, don't make the game easier than it already is. I'm a non supporter and I'm doing just fine :)
