Its very annoying that the game does not full y function on macs. There are many things that need to be fixed, such as the delete button, zoom in/out, the random sound that happen, etc.
But there is a solución, kind of tedious for the deletion option:
You need to put the cursor before the letter/word to be deleted and pres FN+Delete.
