comming to resources even a lvl 5 player can donate to game and get FSP'S to forge his items and have a fair chance to win the lvl 5 tourney..
for a huge range of tourney's you need to have a huge no. of BP's to get highest no's of win's else stick onto three or four lvl tourney's until you won some nice items to get more fsp's , then go for upgrade.

1. All your items should be forged .
2. first get the moves , three of each, or atleast two of each move ,
power, Crit hit, spin attack , get hold of these moves first as fast as
possible.,

for lvl 25, basic - > plague set , reborn guardian shield , ring , rune, ammy, weapon,
you can change this set a little bit for more competative , with uncrafted plague helm which will give you more armor and damage stats and only damage stats of raghazz amulet .
for an alternate you can choose the coweb sickle instead of reborn guarding axe
For lvl 30
basic - > Girath set, plague helm, reborn shield, ring, rune, ammy , plague boots,
you can choose the single stat's damage only raghazz amulet for extra damage. with coweb sickle , girath gloves, reborn guardian shield, rune, ring , plague boots, helm, armor,
Note:_ all of them should be fully forged,
good luck.

basic setup :- lesser set reborn cerberus armor , shield , ring , rune ,and plague boots or undead. (perfect will be nice if able to get them)
or lesser set , fire dragon plate , reborn cerberus shield, ring, undead eye, or cerberus rune.
for lvl 50 and 55 you moves will play an imp role.. the basic setup for the moves would be PA, PA, PA, CH , .....
for lvl 55 you can use the above or
lesser set , ghostly corset armor, reborn cerberus shield, ring , rune, or undead eye and plague boots ,

well what if its a non forged tourny? and what if you cant win one that has a combat move?

well if its non forged tourney you still enter with the forged ones only those stat's which gain from forge don't count.. and if you don't have any moves then only you will have a chance to win those tourney's where moves are not allowed , in a move tourney you does'nt have any chance to win as your opponents will have all forged items.

2 cents:
1. never enter moves tourneys without your own moves
donĀ“t forget a lot of randomness is involved. if you have a good setup v s 1 setup , there will always be a counter to it. Thus a bit of luck is needed too, both with the judges and with whom you face. With luck the opponent that wears a counter will be eliminated by someone else.
Questions:
would be interesting to see elaboration on which moves to choose depending on current setup. for instance spin attack seems smart move in def levels but not necessarily so in armor levels
and will PS-move make armor setups less plausible?

i thought you dont get the stats at all from the items if its forged and you enter a non-forged tourny

nope, you still get the stats, but there is a deduction for the HF

i will start with lvl 25 ,
for lvl 25, basic - > plague set , reborn guardian shield , ring , rune, ammy, weapon,
you can change this set a little bit for more competative , with uncrafted plague helm which will give you more armor and damage stats and only damage stats of raghazz amulet .

you can choose the single stat's damage only raghazz amulet for extra damage. with coweb sickle , girath gloves, reborn guardian shield, rune, ring , plague boots, helm, armor,
Note:_ all of them should be fully forged,
for lvl 35
Basic --> Girath set , plague helm, reborn guardian , shield , ring , , ammy or raghzzz tooth ammy (single stats) and rune undead eye , it can be used upto lvl 70 , want to go for higher damage use undead armor too.
another setup.. coweb sickle, plague helm, fire dragon plate, reborn guardian shield, ring , girath gloves , undead eye,
for lvl 40 same as above..
for lvl 50
basic setup :- lesser set reborn cerberus armor , shield , ring , rune ,and plague boots or undead. (perfect will be nice if able to get them)
or lesser set , fire dragon plate , reborn cerberus shield, ring, undead eye, or cerberus rune.
for lvl 50 and 55 you moves will play an imp role.. the basic setup for the moves would be PA, PA, PA, CH , .....
for lvl 55 you can use the above or
lesser set , ghostly corset armor, reborn cerberus shield, ring , rune, or undead eye and plague boots
From lvl 60 you will face turtle setup's , def setup. too
lvl 60 setup :- lesser set, thonomoth armor, reborn cerberus shield, ring , plague boots and undead eye,
as you can face turtle setup,s , you can use this too depend upon the trend.. lesser set, thonomoth armor , thonomoth shield, or goshtly shield, (which can give you some more attack) karken, boots, and undead eye.
lvl 65 same above .. you can place the counter attack moves in between your offensive moves to beat those , def or turtle setups
Note:- you can improvise these setup's for better results with your experience.
lvl 70 , lesser set , reborn leaf armor, shield, boots, reborn cerberus ring, undead eye,
or you can use those items of which have a armor and def stats to make a turtle setup.. as the set mentioned above does'nt have enough attack to beat the turtle setup.. so you can use any high attack ring too or place your counter attacks selectively.
lvl 80 , deep set, reborn leaf armor, boots of arkmier, lesser reindeer candy, reborn cerberus ring, and darklore rune.
lvl 85 same as above with a change in ammy and ring boots.. use clak ammy ring and boots of palemaz..
note :- want to increase armor , use Klergs Rune

Decay set, clak ammy, clak ring, palemaz boots, deep shield, and darkspine flail..
from lvl 100 the writhing ward will come into play. A handful off people able to obtain that,, so either skip that lvl.. 100,105 or go with defence.. as you can't get the required damage to beat the armor setup with writhing ward..
from lvl 110 to 160 def setup's will be preferable.. if you got the writhing ward then nice you can go with armor setup's.
