You come upon a blacksmith at his forge.
Talk to him.
Hello there traveler. I've been waiting for you. I'm in need of some materials. I need some bars to so I may forge some equipment so I can fight my way back home. If you help me, I shall reward you greatly.
Accept quest.
Go and gather up the bars needed and return.
Ahh thank you friend. Now I need the blood of 200(insert creature here).
Go kill 200 creatures and return.
Ahhh. Thank you. Now I need some magic dust that'll make my fire burn as hot as the burning hells.
Go forage in several different areas, mix the right amounts to get Demondust(Opposite of angeldust), then return.
Thanks again friend. I have all I need to make it home safely. In return for all your help, I shall make you a powerful weapon. If you can bring me the two doomblades, I shall make your weapon.
Give the man a Doomblade and a Forged Doomblade.
The man begins work on the weapon, but all of a sudden, there is an explosion and the man and your weapon is gone.
You then have to search for the quest location to finish and the location should be in another realm.
You find the blacksmith's corpse lying on the ground, but he's holding a partially burnt note witch contains some cryptic soordinates you must follow.
You find the spot and dig up your weapon.
Quest complete. You recieve some XP and 1x Blade of Doom.

Too easy? You must not have read the whole thing. It contains almost every aspect of the game. Foraging, forging, mixing, hunting down and killing a bunch of creatures, going back and forth to the quest location, then having to search for the end of it. Also, I had in mind that creatures you'd have to kill would be hard. Tons of hp, high ac and defense, and maybe unlocatable.
It's easy when you can just buy the stuff from a high level forager. As to the creatures you just said "kill this creature this many times." I respect your taking the time to write out the quest and all but my first reaction when I don't see a suggestion for what the creature should be etc. it's hard to like the quest. But you have fleshed your idea a little more so I'll give it a shot and see where you can go with it. Care to give a rough sketch of what the creature's stats might be?

With the HP it had it'd be a USP for me per creature, give or take....I'd rather just keep my Omnilord's Wrath....

maybe lower the level, the stats on the item, and make it a great midlevel replacement for the doomblade for the 1200-1750 crowd?

with those stats and reward, and the creature stats, killing 200 is alot, plus the people over 1500 and able to kill them? they likely have the omnilords wrath now, so why would they hunt 200 of those down for the sword?
maybe lower the level, the stats on the item, and make it a great midlevel replacement for the doomblade for the 1200-1750 crowd?
there already is a midlevel version,...it's called the Kamrack Scythe

that's always an idea - but here's another suggestion - change the weapon to a SHIELD - give it decent atk, ac & dmg stats for warriors and decent DEF & wisdom for mages add in bonus skills like inner wisdom, hard shell etc

That sounds good. I think that would work.with those stats and reward, and the creature stats, killing 200 is alot, plus the people over 1500 and able to kill them? they likely have the omnilords wrath now, so why would they hunt 200 of those down for the sword?
