You notice what looks to be a wise old monk in a tree. He seems to be cutting new shoots and collecting the sap.
"Would you like to help me? I'm not as young as I look." *he laughs histerically*
Drop item willow sap from 5 tree golums.
"Now fetch me the wings of 1 vampire bat."
The old man sticks the wings into the sap.
"Now I need you to collect the tail of 1 forest rat."
The man sticks the tail in the back of the sap. He mubles to him self as he makes his strange toy.
"Now get me some web to bind with."
Dropped by tree spiders. (10 spider web strands)
He wraps the strands around the sap the wings and the tail. He's made what looks like a flying strange creature. "Now a basilisk blood, and a basilisk essence to give it spirit. Well hurry now, we don't have much spare time!"
Basilisk Blood and Essence.
You bring back the blood and essence. He pours the blood all over the creature and drinks the essence. He is transformed into a mighty beast of a man, 8 feet tall, with a long white beard and white robes. "I am the high priest, master druid of the dark forest. We have been looking for one such as you. Travel to the center of the dark forest maze and you will find what you are looking for. I will send word." He breathes on the creature and it sparks to life. It flies off towards the dark forest maze.
You gain 10,000 xp and become the sub-class Druid apprentice.
+ 50 % forage experience
+ 30 forage
... and other stat bonus/penalties consistent with other sub classes
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dark Forest Maze
You find yourself in a wide clearing. There is what looks like the framework of a giant man. There are many people dressed in white, but one woman, taller than the others stands out.
Approach the woman
"Greetings, I had word of your coming. I am the High priestess of the dark forest. We are in much need of help and little time. Take this list and return quickly."
5 x body part sets (each set is all the parts of 1 player)
100 x unknown energy
500 x blue dust
500 x red dust
50 x imbued twigs
1 x bone crushe bones
1 x omnilord skull
Present the items.
"You will need this." She uses the bone to bash in the base of the skull to form a bowl.
You receive a druids mortar and bone. Must be equipped as a weapon to be used (requires both hands) and enables the skill "Druidic Mixer"
"Excellent, but we must be quick. Mix the dust and the energy, then dip the imbued twigs in the mixture. Give them to me to tie into the wicker man when you have finished."
You give the items
"Now receive this rune, and take your place in the circle. Prepare for the sacrifice. The full moon is almost at it's peak."
Rune of Druidic Ritual (Allows group druidic rituals) Ready the rune.
As you approach the wicker man, you notice it is actually a cage filled with people. In the head of the wicker man you see is the High Priest. They all stare out of the cage silently, as if in some sort of trance. You kneel and place the rune in front of you. The high priestess places on it a metal bowl with arcane paterns on the outside, filled with scented hot coals." You place the body parts in the bowl, and they are instantly consumed by the fire. You rise and lift the bowl, buring the pattern of the symbols into your hands. You hear yourself say, "Without sacrifice there can be no gain. Without death, there is no renewal. And you toss the hot coals on the wicker man and it bursts into fire consuming all within.
The high priestess approaches you, "Welcome to our circle brother."
You gain 10,000 xp and become the sub-class Druid.
+ 100 % forage experience
Skill - Lunar alignment
... and other stat bonus/penalties consistent with other sub classes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New locations... Druidic Circles for healing, mana and rituals etc....
new abilities - Druidic Prayer (can have rituals with other druids on certain locations and certain lunar cycles, and can then mix special potent vials, using mixer and other ingredients. Maybe a restriction that there must be 9 or 12, no more or less Druids on the square to successfully mix the vials... as well as being on the right lunar cycle.
new abilities - Lunar awareness... a small icon appears on your player screen with the cycles of the moon, full moon... half moon both waning and waxing... and no moon. Maybe if each phase of the cycle lasts 5 days, the symbol is light grey, except for the 3rd day (the peak) when it turns white, indicating it is the peak of that phase for rituals etc. This would also be a cool ability if you wanted to introduce warewolves as a character class.

I think the current foragers would HATE this because they worked SO hard to get to where they are and now someone who is new can come and shred through the forgaging ranks. Yeah, I'm NOT for this idea and I'm not even a forager.... sorry, a lot of good thought put into this though
I can see what you mean, although it doesn't mean they'd really loose out that much... a druid would probably have to start out with a new character, so even with a forage bonus would take ages to catch up with the dedicated foragers. I saw that they'd be more doing the group rituals, for special vials, possibly even purchasing off the dedicated foragers for ingredients. Foraging would only be one element to the new sub-class. As you can see from the quest, mixers aren't the only ingredients.
...and then there's also the possability of letting people do the quest, and druid just replaces their original subclass.
I love the idea as well that for a ritual there is a max of 9 druids on a square, and can only be done at a certain point in the lunar cycle. You'd have to negotiate with other druids, and you couldn't just sit on the square, because you need to get more ingredients. Even if there's another player handing them to you, you would have to move to take the items.

I also like it that you don't take a decrease on the attack/magic ability, since druids as I understand the history, went to war with their clans/followers and performed incantations and rituals. This so works.
