do they still let the old accounts play. cus if they do than im sure that the loyal players feal a little abandoned like the end is near and any donations they may have made in the name of that game are waisted and unapreciated, atleast thats how i would feal. and if they dont let them play than that is even worse.

from what i read someplace, they are not accepting new accounts but old accounts are still active.

One thing you should know about the original is that some of the monsters fight back once you enter the square and you can get mobbed by all of them there. That was one thing I like that they didn't bring into the second one.

Some of us still play... some just log in from time to time to check if its still there.
It would be swell if it got some new attention again... We'll see...

Have you ever tried Gothador? Its another HCS game and was created before the original SS. The original SS's game system is based on Gothador and though both games took kind of seperate paths, as one is fantasy (Goth) and the other is sci-fi (SS), you might gain a little impression of what SS was kinda like.

And yes both games have first strike foes (where foes hit first), but for one thing, you can see all the foes in the surrounding area, not just where you are, so these creatures are avoidable. Also they only hit once, its not as if you are plunged into a battle that is out of your general control once it begins. Backpack space is not unlimited, items can be dropped and picked up later, banks take whatever you want them too and it doesn't cost you to heal.

On the downside (compared to SS2), you only start out with 40ap (energy) and to leave the first map, you need to be a supporter (though there is lots to do on that map, and its not massively expensive monthly fee.)
