Is that possible to implement without making the game slower? It would be very helpful to know how many more are hunting where we are, rather than guessing by who we run to in repair shops or by the area chat.

only if it is a snapshot and mabe options to be cloaked or show mutiable chacters at the same time in different places to confuse attackers. maby make yourself to look like a rock or something. :ugeek:

You mean as in a list of names, so we know all the people that are in that realm?... I like it ; )

Maybe we could include the on/off green light so we can know if they're online or have been recently. I was thinking about suggesting a limit on the amount of time messages stay up in realm chat too, that way we could get a better feel for the activity level in any given area since all the messages would be recent.. but then I realized if I got my way, advertisers would probably have a newfound fondness for me in PvP zones so I thought better of it. =)

List of names? :) Sounds interesting!!

I was referring to simply have a number below the area name about those online in the last 20 minutes (same code as the one used for green lights )

Imagive a PvP area with 20 people in it, and only 1-2 in the healing facility..it means looking around the repair-shop will be fun!!

As for the area chat, maybe a date and time next to it would work too? Same like faction chat posts..

That would work for me, a date and time stamp for every message would solve the problem. I still wish they expired after a time though, It's a little sad when I'm in a realm and I see the same lonely message in the morning that was there the previous night, but knowing when a message was made would make a world of difference imo.

As for the list... I was just thinking about it and thought maybe they could have a new option under the action menu entitled 'Realm' or "Current Realm' that when pressed would bring up a list not much unlike what we have with manage under the faction menu. They could have every player who's in the realm listed plus they could color code by how recent they were active. Maybe green until 6 minutes of inactivity, yellow until 12 and then off.

I'm not postive we would get that much use out of something like that but it's probably a good way to enhance the online feeling we're all supposed to be getting by being able to get a sense of the comings and goings one would expect in an actual real life environment, a way to reinforce the fact that we're playing this game with other people. Realm chat already does this but I think it can be kicked up a notch.

What do you guys think? more mm feeling in our mmorpg?

Edit - I just want to add that they really did a much better job of getting that feeling in this game than they did with FS. Just the fact that we need to go to the same places(shop, mechanic, factory) means we will all keep meeting up, as soon as I started playing this game and saw that I said to myself "ahhhh I see what they're doing.. very clever" and of course realm chat just made it that much better so umm yeah... props to the team on that ;)

Very much see it the way Kyle does :)

Apart from the locations on the map though, the feel that we are witnesses to the first steps of a game is awesome too!! i just wish more people gave their input in the forums

It would be nice if we could get some official feedback on our ideas a little more often, even if that meant we weren't getting our way at least we would feel like we're making progress. I would like it if an admin stopped by everyday just to wade through all the topics and destroy anything he didn't like, wouldn't that be awesome? he would be like "The answer is no little brain, now I crush you and your puny idea"(give him a Russian voice, possibly German) Then he could just stomp around with giant idea squishing admin boots that only he would have.. and instead of the topic being locked.. it could have a symbol of a giant boot on it and if anyone tried to click on the thread the text would be small, smooshed and near impossible to read. (except by people who are fluent in smooshalese of course)

Think about it.. BigGrim could come around everyday and thin out all the excess fluff with his BigGrim "Feet of Doom" and no idea, no matter how good - would be immune... unless they're mine, since I'm the creator of the whole feet of doom.. thing(special privileges and stuff) So.. what do you guys think, sweet idea right?... or..... is that a giant boot I see in my future? :(

Btw - Every map... able to see.... could we be... players online. I've just magically made my post relevant to the current topic. [Kyle exits the forum at a brisk pace as though being chased by a marathon walker]

I do tend to read the suggestions and general feedback forums almost everyday during my lunchbreak or general breaks and only respond if I have time to respond, I always suggest the ideas to Varkaz and BigGrim even if I don't reply to you guys.

This idea is a good one there just isn't much I can comment on it other than it is a good idea and I can bring it up in meetings the next time we have one! Along with all the other ideas.

Thanks for the quick response Zaelin, I appreciate it. I'm glad you liked the giant boot idea and I'm happy to have you on board(I'll have you sign my petition later) but... what do you think about the whole "seeing players online in every map" thing? crazy stuff right? - wait... which idea were you talking about? :?
