We've had minimal new Faction structures, the ones we do have suck, and would take very little to upgrade if HCS could be assed to actually help us with it.
We're waiting on so many things from HCS, and all they say is they're busy. It honestly makes me wonder if they introduced this game purely as a cash cow to get enough money to invest more time in another game altogether.
Oh and I agree, total waste.

That's the real frustration though isn't it? Nothing in this game is really paying off... it was introduced with far too few levels. And has been rocky since then.

I agree mostly with this... It is really starting to feel like HCS is taking advantage of their loyal fan base... I personally have invested WAY more than I really should have but have done so with the belief that this game would get the same attention their previous ones have. I was very excited to get in on the beginning of the game with enough money to donate to actually be at the top of this game. I feel like my investment was truly a mistake. I feel cheated. Where is the stackable stims and ammo we we promised in December? Why do we get new content that can be leveled through in 3-4 days without buying energy and then have to spend 2 weeks waiting for something to do. We don't even have side activities to engage in like a PvP arena or bounty board. I don't know how much I'll be donating in the future to this game because I definitely have not got my money's worth so far.

It is commonly known through communities of mmorpg players that if you start a game right at release you have to have a lot of patience. Other mmorpgs from personal experience, although still good fun at the start, were not all that they could be at release but they evolve and become massively awesome. Fallen Sword had 3 levels at the start of release, now it has 600 and many many features that people enjoy.
You have all enjoyed the game so far and enough to spend money on it, so if you have enjoyed its foundation you will enjoy the stuff to come, and if you think about it you guys are going to be the ones that new players further down the line are going to look up to and probably worship because you were there from the start.
New features are on their way it has just taken a bit more time than predicted. We do have a lot of fantastic ideas that we will implement in the future that we think you will all enjoy. I have said it before on the forum and I will say it again, we do not make content with the idea in our minds that it will make us lots of money, the saying that is in our minds is "That will be fun! They will love that!" and it will be always and forever. More stuff is coming, I just urge you to be patient,

Eldevin does not take manpower, time, or money away from SS2/FS. All the people in the SS/FS office work exclusively in that office - they never cross over to Eldevin. Our current players and donators have their full attention. In fact, it is often the other way around - programmers and occasionally artists from the Eldevin team often help out the Sigma team when needed.
Secondly - and this is something I've seen crop up more than once in the past week or so - some of you seem to be concerned that the money you pay into the game is going instead to fund Eldevin. I admit, I'm slightly confused by this idea - that we somehow "channel" money into different games, and Eldevin is sitting on a goldmine and all our other games are surviving on dust and scraps? Our games don't have individual funds. They don't receive more or less attention depending on how much money we pump into them. It doesn't work that way. HCS's income funds the company as a whole - equipment, workspace, wages. Those costs are a constant no matter how many games we have out. They existed before Sigma2 was released and they will exist after Eldevin comes out. The only cost that is directly related to our game growth is server cost - and since Eldevin doesn't have any players yet, our current games actually receive more funding that it does.
Even if there were a way to tag every donation and say "Ok, this money was donated by a player on Fallen Sword, so that means it can ONLY go to Fallen Sword," if we had that system then we would never have made more than one game.
The factor that affects how much attention each game gets is not money. It's manpower and hours of work. And four out of our last five new employees are working exclusively in the SS2/FS office.

More stuff is coming, I just urge you to be patient,
it will be worth it.
Unfortunately most players are not patient as you can see in various threads. Sigmastorm 2 is still in it's infancy let it grow before the ranting starts.
I'm an old-school gamer that started off with P&P RPG's and I don't think many that play are old-schooler's...

Umm... best not to assume things. I know many players here who started with pen and paper. I myself have a enjoyed a long history of playing computer games as well, going back to when they were all text driven. I have also enjoyed a long history of playing HCS games over the past 4 years. Conceptually, this game has been by far the most enjoyable. I love the world and classes and everything else about it. It seems to be by far the most balanced and contains the best storyline I have seen in many MMORPGs. It is nice to hear the clarification of the organization at HCS. What is frustrating is that it seems HCS has built one of the best structured game to date, but the content is a bit lacking and more and more it seems that it is not a priority and the delivery of new content seems intended to fulfill a bare minimum of expectations. 10 levels every two weeks or so with an elite to harvest at the end. I signed up and invested my money ( and QUITE a bit of it) for much more than that. It is also frustrating that certain promises have not been kept (like the stackable ammo). It is also frustrating that while you say there is a dedicated team working on SS2, I have read in other strings that things like the stackable ammo is on delay because of work being done on "that other game".
What has been created here is quite a problemfor the folks at HCS. The first problem is that it is truely unfair of them to plan to release 2 new games so close together. Aside from creating a perception that the first one out is not getting proper attention, it is going to create a big problem for establishing a loyal user base - as evidenced by the many players who have chosen to wait for the next one to be released. I believe based on the history of HCS and promises to the future, that this game REALLY needs an abundance of attention early on to build the user base and make it viable. I am at a point personally where I am becomming fearful that as soon as Eldevin is released, this game is going to collapse and the money I have spent here will have been pissed away. What I think is being communicated to HCS - although not always clearly, is that there is a large group within this game, of supporting members who really want to see this game have a future, but loose confidence in it for 10 out of the 14 or so days between each content release. I know from my own conversations with several other players that this lack of confidence is having a direct result on donations as well. I think breaking from the standard release format is something that needs to happen right away and that some additional aspects to the game would be beneficial as well as a realization of promises not yet kept.
It is not my intent now or ever to just throw out the rant. I want to see the success of HCS and this game and applaud them for what has been delivered so far... I just think some improvements would benefit the players and HCS.
anyway - that's some perspective from another old school gamer who has seen many games thrive and many others not.

Phurie and Zaelin thanks for the well scripted explanation as to how HCS and the games work!!
Actually I only really comment when I feel strongly and passionate about something, so it all came from the heart thank you very much!
