OK, so, getting later into the game and I think everyone is finding out how valuable the skill power buffs are for various and many reasons.

Well, we LOSE FIVE skill power points every hour. OK, I understand that it SHOULD deteriorate over time. NOW, here is the idea, since elite suits are now harder to get, they could easily be even MORE elite with one VERY SIMPLE fixture.

What if we only lost ONE SKILL POWER every hour IF, and ONLY IF, you had a COMPLETE suit of your class equipped??? Makes SOOO much sense, would fit the theme and would likely be easy to implement.

What do you guys think??? I know I hate having to fight 20-30 guys at the beginning of my hunt just to align my perfect buffs, now you could have a head start if you had your classes EQUIPMENT on =). OOOO, the more I think of this idea the more I like it.

Now, I just thought of an argument people will use, people will say, well, you will just keep around your OLD class gear and equip that before you log off just to save your skill power. OOOO, right you are, SOOOOOO, here is a way to COUNTER THAT. You could make the code so that if your gear is YOUR LEVEL MINUS 9, it ONLY LOSES 1 SKILL POWER AN HOUR. BUT, if your suit is YOUR LEVEL MINUS 10-19, YOU LOSE 2 SKILL POWER AN HOUR. OBVIOUSLY this will be worse as you go, UP TO TEN.

SO YES, that means you should LOSE TEN if you have no gear on.... Think of the variation and strategy this will put into the game. SOOOO, what do you guys think????

I think it's a neat idea. Especially given the enormous amount of effort that I hear it takes for the level 80 sets, it would be nice to gain an additional tiny payback :)

I really agree.. It would be a nice "class" bonus. It also makes sense to me. A PSI set should give a PSI bonus other than being able to wear it. :)

The only other problem i see with this is that this is a FREE game to play, not everybody has money to donate or can do surveys or the other various way to get FCs. So how are these people going to get the FCs needed to get the gear needed. I think HCS is doing the best that they can in order to keep the game free so that everyone can play. But here is an alternative, why not make it like a buff, which costs stamina, then depending on how much stamina you use this will determine how long this buff will last.

You can play for free, you just can't have every advantage for free. Assuming that you can't get fc for free (which you certainly can). You can't have a gigantic backpack. You can't have massive max energy or maxxed out energy gain. Elite gear is obtainable with a small number of fc except at the top. There is no reason Elite gear can't give advantages.

you could reduce the loss by 1 for each items. total of 3, all my skill points are in core skills, so never used the class skills except healing. (they have minimum amount anyway)

You know, the more I think about this topic the more I think that the real solution to this problem is to increase the amount of skill pts you can save up to like 100 or 200 and let them deteriorate the same. It bothers me that things like the psi shield take 20 pts but are good in only one combat.... I really like class skills, but think they need some minor tweaking for balance purposes.

Alternately maybe using the buffs could only require 1/2 the skill pts if you have a set equipped???

PS - Clones - stay out of this! =)

sounds like a good idea, and as a message to hcs: it would help hcs, since people would donate and do more point rewards to GET the sets, and it makes people loose more credits/fc ALSO promoting it...

This was never about people upgrading their sets or anything like that....

Anyone can create a set, forged or not. I am simply saying wearing any old 3 piece set would give you this advantage... I mean, it makes sense and would add a new dynamic to the game.

Most people already wear sets, however, the strategy comes into where you place your class skill points (core or class). If you put them into class, it would only make sense that a class suit would incur some reasonable bonus to your class skill power, for everyone, not just those that donate...

generally, the game was not designed for set, as set was very rare till the lvl 40 fiasco. now, the set is becoming rare again. that is why sets were never that overpowering. frankly, I prefer flexibility of core set. but I do think class skills need to be tweaked.

Actually, I believe sets were never overpowering because large set bonuses would be immune to stat decay from damage. I also think they made the first HK set way to easy to make (trial run I hope) and so it couldn't be powerful. Now, if an HK set had drop rate like the level 70/80 Elite with lower extraction rate and maybe 8 components per piece or something. Then it could be a powerful set.
