One thing that i see brought up from time to time is the fact that most of the HCS staff, by virtue of the fact theyre all working so hard to keep this game moving, dont really have time to play themselves... hooftest, as far as i know, is more about testing out content they playing as we would... But i feel like there is deff something lost when the people who run the game arent players themselves, because it limits their ability to relate to our experience... sure some of them play every now and then (i know zaelin has commented about the choice between playing and browsing the forums, and frankly i prefer the latter), but the level of intensity for playing at lvl 15 isnt comparable to the nightmare that was the first time you ran into the lvl 86 mob or the horrible death you suffered the first time u tried to solo the lvl 80 elite... i dont really think theres much of a question here, or any real substantive contribution to the improvement of hte game, except maybe a passing curiosity about why there isnt a hooftest like character played by staff that plays with us rather than alone before us?

I agree completely and think they are working harder on getting Eldevin released.

gameface, you still believing that is crazy. Understand this clear, Eldevin is their baby...

Whoa there. It's completely true. We don't even work in the same building. Really, we aren't lying about it.

And we are probably hoping to come up with a few new games between now and retirement besides Eldevin.

About admins being players too: Well, as the current highest level player in the game who is not Hooftest, I have to say that there just isn't time for us to work on the game AND play it enough to keep up with the players. Bear in mind also that we don't donate money to the game (kinda like paying your own wages!) so we have far fewer upgrades for our characters that would speed play along, and it would certainly be unfair for us to use admin powers to fly through the game if we're playing instead of testing - not to mention it would defeat the point of seeing the game through a regular player's eyes. Also, I can't speak personally for the Sigma team, but I imagine that when you spend all day developing a game and are familiar with the smallest details, it takes some of the objectivity out of it when you actually play it. I know that when we've had testers on Eldevin, they've picked up on problems that the entire office failed to spot when we ran through it.

In fact, it is their retirement fund

And that is even funnier if you knew that the crew making these games all range from 20-30 years old.

Andrew Mullhullond is like 26

It's actually completely true.

Sword/Sigma Team :

Varkaz, FORN, Iago, Zaelin Xakano and myself.

Eldevin Development team :

Hoofmaster, Cowboy, MoJawk, DocSooty, Retroboy, Xero, PhurieDae, Anakiro.

Some of the Sigma crew try to play as we can and in know Kiro and PhurieDae play too.
