THE SIGMA DUELING CHAMBERS


It would be a new link/whole area (Actions->Dueling Chambers) for a sum of money (we will call it "X") a player could enter a Dueling Chamber, thus putting up a list of online players in the chambers. They could only have a 10 level (not 3 level) difference. You could only enter the chambers a few times each day. Each chamber would have a level limit (i.e. level 10-19 players, 20-29 players, etc. etc.) and each chamber would have a:
name
entry fee
time limit for challenging
a Champion
and the Champions credits (as a reward for defeating him)
When a Champion becomes a Champion he wins the reward (part of the previous Champion's credits), and is allowed to attack 3 levels lower players, he/she can leave the Chamber though, untill he/she is beaten, will remain the champion.

I know there are a few wholes in this idea, so don't tell me that, please post CONSTRUCTIVE ideas (note: they DON'T have to be polite, I can take criticiasm, as long as it's constructive).

I actually think this is a good idea, though i feel it could do with some improvement.

How about every 10 levels, say on the 5's. 25, 35, 45, etc... so as not to clash with elites, there is a duelling arena which is maybe only opened on the hour every hour for 5 minutes. To get in you pay, say 10k credits, then at 5 past, when no more people are allowed in, every player gets 10 lives, and the last man standing wins the pot. When you have lost your 10 lives you respawn on the cloning facility in the hunting area.

Again, I know this idea has some points that need refining, but as a basic idea i think its sound.

Please post replies, dont make me the only one to actually continue this idea...

I had a kind of dueling idea that I posted to the team, don't think they were too happy with it (can't remember why!) but it was just the basic "this player has requested a duel" that would appear and then you could accept it or not. This idea sounds a lot better :) I would love to see how the idea evolves and expands with other peoples input.

id suggest travel be by portal... figure theres usually a portal every five or ten levels, have the portal be the only way to access the area... each area will have different level ranges to enter (the 5 or 10 level thing is an idea, but i would prob make it in the 10 or 20 range). As to when you die, the teleport on death should be to a healing facility next to a shop of healthpacks, ammo and stims, a mechanic, and a portal to the other worldmap areas... make this a separate area within the pvp area (like the lil areas where you buy elite blueprints.... small safehavens within the pvp areas)

the actual game aspect of this would be a running kill tally... you can re-enter from the haven for free, or you can leave the area to play the game and re-enter as many times as ud like by portal for a cost. The sum of entrance fees will be divided up to a 1st 2nd 3rd pot for the guys with the most kills over a certain period of time (or this could be a way of giving out special items in a context where the player who has donated the most wont necessarily win)... like with teh levels of the area, the time period involved could be anything 10 minutes, an hour, but prob a day... Theyll be a leaderboard people can view for each area, sort of like with the top factions (just naming the lvl of the arena, top 5 killers in each, time remaining, total entrance fees in the pot, etc.)

itll be nice that you can leave to go play the actual game whenever ud like without forfeiting the pvp contest, and re-entering is as simple as finding a portal and paying the cost (or maybe make it a teleport option (cost 25 energy plus x credits)). the teleport only entrance is a way of keeping track that people payed their way in, and that they dont enter by accident.... and also either make a one way exit to the rest of the game or make the teleport in the safe area free, so that they can leave when tired of pvp-ing... if they just stand there, they risk death but get a quick way back to the safehaven

A way this can be made more interesting: Make is so this is energy neutral... moving and fighting in this special area does not drain energy. it would be a good way to keep people entertained while waiting for energy to recharge, and really make for an exciting competition

The number of areas, level range, duration, any limitations (on item lvl, buffs, etc.), price to enter... these are all things that can be left open and experimented with, but i think the core concept has some potential as a long run addition to the game. So despite the fact setting something like this up would be a programming nightmare (one of the reasons to make an area for every 10 or 20 levels rather than more often), but it would make for a very meaningful and interesting way to keep players in the game. but if/whenever it happens, somewhere down the line, it could really make sigma stand out next to its big brothers.

so what do you think zaelin? a bit more developed an idea id say
