I'm curious if there is a cap?

Let's say you just are the worst player and messed up over and over. Or you just can't decide what class you want to be for very long. Kinda like a faction hopper.

Just curious...

They shouldn't change it. Make sure you are paying attention to what you are doing with your SP. They increase the charge to prevent abuse.

I'm wondering what abuse you could be referring to??

Changing classes from level to level to fight different mobs? 25 FC is already a nice sum to prevent that kind of abuse imo :)

Still would like to know if there is a cap?

For example, if someone wanted to try each class(no reset available and a clone) just to have the hands on experience of each class it would cost 250FC, a tidy sum...

i think theres a sound arguement for increasing the price to redistribute evolution points, but less so for skill points... to some degree being able to change ur selected skills/class should be limited, but i agree 25FCs is more than adequate for that goal...

on the side i think id like a maybe 10FC skill reset that only affects points put into class skills, but leaves core stable... that would sort of strike a balance between limiting the ability of people to change their core skills with letting them change classes for a price... redistribute between what type of class weapon or armor you'd like to use, or what class skill, without having HCS for us to break the bank in the name of making a few minor tweaks to our characters

i think that idea is very cool.

the ability to rearrange class only skills would be very valuable .

i for one know that i might need a few points here and there to move around. ( if not 10 FC's make it 15 or 20 at most )

actually i think that maybe a three to four different skill resets could be there.. under skills there could be "core only, class skills only---but leaving skill points in your class definable skill( unique dna, combat training, psionic sensitivity, reinforce skeleton),class skills and class reset( leaving core skills alone) and lastly the whole skill/class reset together :) the last one of course being the most expensive.

I think that maybe one more free reset might be in order, considering the stackability of ammo, now makes soldier and purists classes much more viable..........

well id say thats an arguement for leaving it at a stable, constant FC price... every time they add more content they tweak the strength of the different classes... stackable ammo did it this time, but who knows what else will come out that could change the balance between classes? make it cost a decent amount of FC, but its important to at least leave the option to change things around as reasonable, 100FC for a change is anything but that.

I also think there should be free reset some time due to new stuff also when new structures come out. Also if you look at viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3842 - page 6 it shows a player with skill reset at 25 and evolution point at 0 (how come the player gets a free evolution reset no else did . did you?) i never

Hmmmm....

I agree, I did get my free reset, I was originally Purist but changed to Mutant as I like the idea of a skill to increase the damage from melee weapons, which require no Ammo, and therefore I dont need to waste credits on ammo, but unfortunately at the time I didnt realise the purists had that shield skill, which would be most useful now I understand what it is. Unfortunately for me its too late, and I have made my faction mostly mutant, with mostly mutant gear in stock, though i have kinda messed up my skill points a little, usually due to the page load lag that has been mentioned elsewhere.

I dont think the price should increase each time, as obviously when new skill become available it may be necessary to shuffle skill points a little, thinking at the moment that when i hit 150 theres another heal skill available, which would render the current one I have points in irrelevant.

Obviously there needs to be a cost, or it would be abused, but i think that 25 FC a time is enough.

I also like the idea of there being seperate resets for core skills and class skills, a charge of say 10 FC to change the points in my class, while not actually changing class (so leaving the points in Unique DNA or whichever for other classes but being able to change the rest) would be very useful, while not really being able to be abused.

Yh just because you want to change class does not nessecerily mean to want to change sills so they should divide it , it will cost less

The price of the Skill reset is reasonable and the increasing price after every reset is also something i would like to stay as it is.

However the idea suggested above, to have a Class Skill reset, and a price somewhat lower for it looks great to me.

that is because she was around when the game was released and the combat equation ignored armor
free resets are generally given when MAJOR changes are made to the game that would have a SIGNIFICANT effect on your game play
what is a major change? what would have a significant effect on game play?
that is completely up to HCS, but in my experience, their definition of "major" and "significant" have been quite fair in the past

I would prefer if the skill point reset was at a set value

But if HCS wants it to be an incremental increase...they should really put that in the description of the upgrade

Personally, I think a cow made a mistake
I think they meant for the skill point reset to be a set value but they copied the code for the evolution point reset
We all make mistakes, it happens
the important thing is owning up to our mistakes
and so far HCS is unwilling to admit this one

there was definitely a mistake made
it was either the wrong code for the skill point reset
or it was the wrong description for the skill point reset

I don't care which one HCS wants to admit to, but let's own up to one of them and make the correction
