PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.

Eliminate the 'Deflect' skill NOW, before folks actually waste points in it. At least remove it until it can be revised to something useful.

In Fallen Sword -- that buff just plain sucks and is used as a tool to make people suffer more when on the bounty board (put 'em on the bounty board.. wait 'till they log so they don't realize what is about to happen.. throw a deflect buff on them.. then, since the first few folks end up having to put more effort into actually finishing the bounty.. more folks jump in thinking no one else is working on it...)

PLEASE revise this buff in some way.

I agree with you, however, using the bounty board to fuel your idea may not be the best way to go about it in this game, for obvious reasons :P

Maybe make it so that whatever damage the attacker would have done is "deflected" back at them? Since this would happen during the attackers turn, the defender would in effect have two turns in a row...

I was not suggesting the implementation of the bounty board at all.. I am suggesting straight-up REMOVAL of that buff..

OR

that the cows read the 12 suggestion threads in fallen sword on how to fix that darn thing...

such as -- making people pay stamina if they are deflected.

But, if you understand PvP in this game... What is wrong with Deflect in FS is not a problem in this game. It seems like it's a pure "good" in this game. I agree it does little to help if you're daydreaming on a square. But it surely gives you time to get a repair done if it kicks in (or similar).

I'm not sure if we will be having a bounty board system in this game, if we did it would most likely be completely different. We are thinking way out of the box when it comes to implementing a new PvP things. When we have a solid and approved idea I am sure BigGrim will post it for you.

I'm not sure I see what your problem with the Deflect skill is in this game. There's obviously no bounty board. It looks to me like a useful skill to use in the PvP areas, both for players who are active PvP'ers and those who want to try to avoid being attacked while they complete quests and hunts.

Is there something preventing players from reading the skill description before deciding if they want to put points towards it?

since pvp in this game is all about who swings first and the HUGE lack of variety in items makes it hard to get a good defense setup. deflect should actually have a chance to 'deflect' the damage back onto the attacker. this would make the buff more exciting.

The Skill description lies by omission =). -- It doesn't let players know in advance that the attacker is not penalized (i.e. no stamina-loss) for making the attack.

Very glad to hear that this game currently does not intend to implement a bounty board system -- at least not like Fallen Sword.. that would have been the largest part of my worry.
