How about we have groups of entities? Once in a while these "groups will spawn like regular monsters, just not as often/much.
These monsters are a combined group of entities in the respective area, they'll be stronger and more difficult to defeat by yourself. Meaning you'd probably need to group up a squad.
The only fallback I see is not getting enough people in your group in time to kill the monster, but still working together gets the job done. Bob the Builder! Sorry couldn't help myself. :/
Anyway, it'd be great to see this.
Entity Groups.

I guess I don't understand. There are Champions, Elites, HK and Behemoth. All with stats greater than the regular mobs (or mostly).
Champions are all over the place (maybe in 10-20% of realms) and spawn continuously.
Elites spawn every 10 minutes roughly every 10 levels, more than 1 at a time.
HK spawn every hour and are located at level 16 and 100.
Behemoth spawn once per day (ish) and are located in the level 40's and 150's.
There are a ton of opportunities to go after any of these. Depending on gear many of them require a squad to kill them. It is very easy to get to level 16 (first HK) within a week or so of starting. If you don't have access to good gear, even the level 10 Elite might require squads and that is reachable in the first few days of playing. You do have to chase these things down as they don't come to you, but they are out there.
If you had some other form of "squad required mob" in mind, you should flesh it out better for it to get attention on here.

I wouldn't say this is a bad idea. In terms of it's function, it wouldn't work any differently than just fighting an elite or hk sure, but what it would do is add a little more diversity to the times when we hunt. It might even be fun without adding any additional elements. Though it Would be nice to have a different pic depicting it being a group and not a single entity.
Sure, we could just imagine we're attacking a group when we're fighting these other things, or we could imagine we're killing several all at once apposed to one at a time when we're using our 1,2,3,4 method. I have no problem with that. But it's a far better thing to not "have to imagine" game content. It really is part of the devs job to leave as little to the imagination as they can when molding their worlds.
As far as if we need something like this, I really doubt it. Video games in general aren't very high on my list of things I "need" to do in a day. However, coming at candyguy's idea from the notion that packing as much of what we "want" in this game as we can, is a good thing... I would say his idea isn't a total dud.
Ok, let's say I'm HCS and I'm adding this. First, I would have to do a couple of things. And they are...
1) Give the player a reason to be killing these groups, some incentive beyond it just being harder. Ideas for this could be adding the occasional (optional) quest that rewards the player with a combination of xp, credits and maybe a special drop. The quests shouldn't give the player skill points imo. Creating an incentive could also be as simple as adding resource drops that can only be acquired by killing these groups. The resources could then be extracted to make extra equipment added to the shops. Equipment should be different but not necessarily more powerful.
2) I wouldn't let every creature type group. Not only would this keep the idea a little fresher, but it would give the inhabitants of sigma a little more character. Besides, I'm sure there are plenty of baddies that like to fight alone or whose code it is to fight by oneself.(Ok... so I'm imagining again.)
3) Have a different pic for groups than with single entities.
Drawbacks - It ummm.. would require some work to implement :? .... Oh well?

i had this idea at some point but then couldn't come up with a reason why to implement such a thing.. but i think it's a good idea and with a little bit of thinking it can be made very viable..
i'd like to point out here though, that we, as the general population of the players, are being a little harsh to any ideas that are not immediately necessary mostly because the posts about the things that has been immediately necessary have been ignored for a couple of months now..
so i guess most people will be quick to diss your idea just because it will *very* probably never be implemented or even noticed by the cows..
on the other hand, i support this.. it's a good idea to add some spice to usual leveling..
