Is there? - I don't think so - those players even though they are inactive can still have placed links to this game out there. That is why they are "top recruiters."

The sad part is that if you try to look on the new players (usually only one) recruited be these "top recruiters" - they are allmost all still at level 1, and most of them have not gained a single XP.
Is the learning curve really that steep for this game?

Wzarlon has quite a lot of recruits the last month, some newbie here must be posting the wrong id number and wondering why they can't win FC?

8-) Its called scamming HCS for 5fc... anyone can use any internet cafe and recruit as many players as they want.... that is what so dumb about the recruitment drive...
I got my first recruit, my eldest daughters friend.. :) So she logged in from my daughters pc... and I helped her set her character and guided her through... Bad mistake.... No recruit listed to me as it was from the same IP..... Im not after a the 5fc reward... I was trying to get a new member interested.......
So seeing I have 2 daughters, 3 Pcz, and wireless internet to all of them Only one person is allowed at this IP addy... go figure.... I know of 2 couples that play here.... geez are they in separate houses lolololol
Crazy

Agreed, they should make completing the tutorial a requirement to qualify, at least make them earn the FC than give it away

plus, I know there is a bug in the system. I know someone who got a win without having anyone active showing up in the recruited player list. (and supposedly have recruited 4 players) . oh well, it is cowcode after all :D

I’m sad to agree, but indeed recently (at least in SS2) it's really the image they are giving about their own work :( I don't know for you all, but for me at least the "Something new is coming? Cool! Let's prepare to beta-test it!" sentence is the one coming to much often into my mind recently...

But why are all those level 1 player giving up before they get started?

Is it because they are all naked? - many other games you have some basic equipment from the start, maybe you are a little more motivated to keep going to see if you can get better gear.

So why not a basic set to all where stats are either 0 or maybe 1 - so its more clear for new players what kind of gear they can wear?

Just thinking loud - if it has been suggested before, just ignore me:)

well the very first step in the tutorial is to learn how to move around and that doesn't require items.. and before you start hunting you get some equipment (legs and a pistol or sth i think) from some item dispenser. also with the changes made such that the common gear is now dropped by entities any new player should be able to get some equipment (as you don't really need the best of them in the early levels anyways) for free while leveling.
i think the lack of things to do when you're online and the lack of communication in the game are the first reasons that discourage people to keep playing.
if some sort of a tavern idea was implemented and/or actively using the forums were encouraged I think it would encourage the newbies to stick around a bit, ask questions, seek help and enjoy the game in a social level as well.. would also help to have more stuff to spend energy on so that the newbies aren't scared off by the old players' complaints and disappointment.

8-) Guys, i think you are missing the main factor in why all these noobz are still level 1..... its because the majority are/will never play... its all a scam... a scam to earn an easy 5FC....
some Recruiters are over 50 recruits now, maybe 1-2 out of those are above level2... spend some time and checkout the new players...
They never have hunted, all sitting at 0Xp and 0 creds.....
EAsy way to earn FC aint it.... Makes the numbers look good but its a total waste... the recruiters should not be getting any FC until the new player is out of the free energy and into burning energy... thats what?? level 5-6 somewhere??
Make them earn their 5FC... 8-)

I actually happen to know wzarlon, as he is a retired member of my guild on FS. He happens to be a computer programmer, and has 2 gaming pages where I now he has links to both FS and SS2 posted, and this is why he keeps getting the flux for recruiting..I cant see that this is wrong, as one day he might decide to come back to the game again..nice for him (or anyone else who does the same) to have a stack of flux to get back to

this is one of his pages btw: http://www.game-not-over.com/

I simply thought this was funny that some of the best recruiters are inactive. I think it speaks a lot to the state of confidence here and I got a kick out of it.

Yep, absolutely right Centurion! Why not, for example, move the map chat box at the bottom of the center column (beneath the buffed icons) so we can write more in size and in depth, modify the "Send" button as a "Send locally", and add a "Send world" button which would send in all maps of the game in the same time (exactly what we can find in...almost all other MMORPS, by the way). It doesn't seem that hard to implement, and could be added rather high in the List o'Doom ^^

Worldwide chat - well that one we "almost" have - its the Sigma box:)
So I guess, that such a thing is out of the question:(

But the idea isn't that bad - in MUD's there are newbie channels where you can listen and answer questions from new players. And most that I have tried don't have problems with scamming, but then again - this game doesn't have item selling in shops, so I don't think it will do here.

But with the right moderators and a good banning system it might work.

why I advocated tavern idea because of SB. if nothing else, they should take volunteers to become "helpers" with free posting in the training area way to jump in and ou tof it. as is, it is kinda painful to go back to help.
