Slaughterfest - Major design or coding flaw

No matter how good your gear and buffs are, if you have a slower internet connection than others you'll hardly ever be initiating the attack and will get few points even if the other players are dying frequently versus you.
I can't think of any reason it would be designed like this, so maybe the coding needs some work.

What's the reasoning behind not getting points for a successful defense?

Wrong on Connection Speed. That's why the attacking and moving have a slight delay. Not getting points for successful defense is on purpose and not a bug.
can we atleast shorten the delay please?
every day i have to deal with the lag, and the delay, which is a major disadvantage...could you shorten it to 1 second?

"ummm sorry but they do have an advantage. I managed to have 4 SF in my range in a row! and I know one player was able to hit as soon as I landed on them, and my page finished loading in less than 1 sec. no matter how quickly I attacked it was of no use. I didnt mind but was frustrating... The 2 sec lag seems to be not had by all???
The level difference could be a factor, but its all in the attack I feel... If you get the attack in, chances are you will take the kill... but its to get that attack.....
I had a timer on my last SF... my page was refreshing after a kill in 0.350 - 0.450 sec, Yet they still managed to heal and back to kill me... 2 sec delay???? hmmmmm"

I have found that slaughterfest works best by slowing down you clicks and taps. Typical grind style play is not as effective. I won 1st on my last one by a huge margin, on a slow connection because I just slowed down my style of play. It was counter intuitive, but very effective. Timing is everything.
But really, the 2 second thing is not an issue. You are just having bad luck and using a poor strategy - like I did on the first couple I got into. My internet is not all that fast, typical on a wifi with other gamers online, so I know the story. What I am saying is change your style of attack. I did and after some trial and error, I figured out a speed and made the system work for me. In truth, I think the system makes it easier to win if you are on a slow connection.
On the topic title though, I will say I think that it would be advantageous to have people be re-spawned with full health in a random location so everyone stops flocking to the 8,10 square. This would mean people need to do a bit of hunting.

here is my response there:

That doesn't make any sense to me. The problem I had and Throax had, is there were certain players that can kill us instantly. Clicking more slowly isn't going to help if you are already dead. To make things worse, you don't even get a point if you win the battle.

On acidic's suggestion, I completely agree.. This is too much trying to click on the attack button and then click on the heal button and basically no one needs to move further than 1 square before they're killed.. the good thing about the SF and the "real time" PvP that set it apart from the FS arena was that you can move around the map and "hunt" for other players. for me it'd be much more exciting than clicking in the same spot on my browser constantly.

A possibility. I can discuss with Hoofmaster.

hopefully if this happens in a future match version it will be in a map about 1/4 of the size of the current one, and without movement restrictions.
