I've been mostly healing in all the groups I've been in. And I've got to say I am enjoying myself. Small things like seeing my heal travel to the person I'm healing, made me happy. Since I spend most of the fight staring at health bars it's easy to lose track of who is where in a fight.
However I do have a suggestion: Assist Targeting.
What I mean by this, is allowing me to target the enemy (or at least have it's info box show up on my screen) that my current friendly target is targeting.
As a healer I find that I:
- Usually have no clue how far into killing the enemy we are.
- Have a hard time switching between Targeting Players and Targeting Enemies.
- When DPS'ing you generally target an enemy once and don't switch targets until it's dead. There are exceptions of course but in the average battle, you don't.
- As a Healer, I'm constantly switching targets. Switching between party members is easy. However switching to the enemy several times in a battle is complicated. I'm often having trouble finding the sweet spot between our tank and melee dps so that I target the enemy and not the ally. Even if its just to check its health.
Perhaps an Assist hotkey, so my target will automatically switch to the enemy my current friendly target is targeting. Which can also work backwards and switch back to the player the current enemy is targeting.
Or it doesn't even have to be that robust, simply adding the info screen of the enemy my current friendly target has targeted so I can see it's health bar, and then maybe even click on it if I want to target it.
Just some thoughts.
