I wanted to make a suggestion about the current function of doors.

I was wondering if it would be possible to someday make doors be able to stay open/closed without having to do the little animation every time.

It's not a big deal, I just think it would make a nice addition and feel less instanced in a way and more open world-like.

As of now it's kind of clunky to put up your weapons and go through the animation and feels like shops and everything are instanced when they're really not.

Any insight to this would be appreciated!

I think possibly some doors are there for a reason, to stop monsters and things randomly wandering out of/in to the rooms.

Well I imagine they can code it to where they only wander in between certain tiles, I just like the idea of being able to quickly and freely run in and out of shops.

Yes opening from both sides would also help quite a bit.

Opening from both sides is possible for sure. Its an engine thing really, the inside is a different sub-realm on the code side, so its not so straightforward, its not a blocked door, its another realm that's just linked to the outside realm. Albeit its not entirely impossible in the future to make a work-around smooth walk through client-side, even with doors swinging open, just don't expect it too soon :)

Open from both sides would be fantastic. Kind of annoying having to pan the camera just to open a door >.<

Well it's good to hear that it's a possible feature in the future.

Definitely not something that needs to happen soon as there as much more important things.

Appreciate the explanation though :)

is it possible to make doors a 1 click option rather than a double click option also? Its annoying having to double click them every time you want to open one.

You can right click them and choose to open them. I would believe it's required a double left click to prevent frustration players could get when miss clicking onto a door or object.

Right clicking everything is just making the game play more difficult then it needs to be, along with the double clicking on doors. You don't need to double click to get into a dungeon or a cave so why add the annoying feature to doors?

My friend died in a cave earlier because he couldn't click the gate to get through it because it needed a double click and it wouldn't activate which meant I had to run back through the whole cave to get him to take him all the way back down again.

Now you can't tell me that isn't frustrating?

If the door had a single click option in the first place then he would have survived.

Double clicking doors ( and other things ) will become automatically routine after we get used to it. Currently it might feel a bit annoying but that's because we are not used to it from experiences of other games we play. I'm sure the frustration will fade away over time.
