Alright I've been playing around with a few different classes and their abilities and it seems attack speed doesn't really effect the amount of attacks you can execute per second  :blink: ?

Haste lowers the cooldown of abilities if I'm right or the channeling of abilities (still not to sure)..

Is it possible to clarify if stacking attack speed is useful for DPS output or would acquiring more haste be better, and in which scenario of class would each be better for?

I've been playing the assassin recently and it seems with two 1.66 attack per second weapons I am not actually outputting the average amount of attacks (not to mention attack speed can be raised with talents).

That is tested with using basic attacks only, abilities only and both mixed together.

So yeah just any small clarification would be helpful  :) .

Attack speed is already calculated for weapons in the DPS it lists in the tooltip. If you attack 1.66 attacks per seconds at 0.6 seconds into an attack the attack will be finished and you can execute another attack. So when a weapon say it does between 10-20 damage and 1.66 attacks per second it does ((10 + 20) / 2) * 1.66 = +-24  DPS.

Haste applies to all cooldowns, except global cooldown and your basic ranged/melee attack.

Oh so if I understand right:

Haste = cooldown of abilities

Attack speed = the speed of which the abilities are executed

Makes more sense, thanks :).

Does attack speed also apply to healing spells? Otherwise it seems a bit unfair.

Attack speed does not apply to spells it applies only to weapons, you might as well act like it does not exist. It's just how long your basic attack takes. Lower attack speeds can help you kite with basic attacks a bit easier. Spells do not benefit from any item's attack speed.
