Is it intentional, that we can still "buy" our progress in the cooking skill? all ingredients can be bought to cook stuff, so no need to farm, forage etc...
Just checking in case HCS was meant to remove that from shops too, seems unfair that some skills can be bought, while others have to be worked for ![]()

There use to be one, but they changed them so that they no longer sell logs, bars, etc. I honestly didn't feel that was a good change, considering later there are some quests that require bronze bars, lith logs, etc and it would basically mean all players are to literally spend days/weeks grinding up said gathering skills or spamming players in town for said resources.
Crafting and gathering shouldn't exactly be easy as cake, but considering how fast you level in Eldevin vs trade skill progression and the items you need, make, gathered...its one sided. Crafting is a huge time sink, and having the ability to buy some resources from npc? Well I felt that wasn't such a bad thing. Please bring back resources on npcs, not spending a week doing forestry and mining just to get some hand ins for a quest. ![]()

The NPCs should never have sold the bars. You can trade with other players who have there crafting up to that level (I realise this may be harder while there are limited players in the Closed Beta, but it should be fine once the game goes live) ![]()

Crafting creates trade. Trade is good for crafting. NPCs should only sell the materials it needs to make bars, but not the ore themselves. i.e flux, etc

completely agree with the admins on this, i believe the idea is that no-one is master of all and the trade skills are deliberately more difficult. Think of general xp as life xp......benefiting you with overall progression in your characters existence, whilst training in the the less fancied, yet skill laden professions really does take a painstakingly long time(would you rather buy herbs from someone that has just pulled some grass up in the forest and has no idea what it is, or someone that has an extended knowledge from years of gathering?). Most games you would simply buy what you need from various traders/find items as drops etc, whereas this way you can have a skill that is a commodity that, while not unique to you, is in demand by those that specialise in other areas....
