FIRSTLY: i am aware that this is essentially a duplicate topic... but the topic that we can post in is like a brainstorming topic, and most ideas, even the good ones, are only discussed for a few posts then everyone argues about something else... i feel that this thread should be allowed to stay so that people can discuss it fully.
if not, then lock it i guess, but please read it first - i want someone to see it at least :)

now that that's outta the way, here's my suggestion:

right now, invy spots are at 30 FSP...
for most players, this is way too much to be affordable.

if i buy 25 (not even enuf for 1 space...), its gonna cost me $5...
4 spots, which is about what a lot of people would like (it wuld allow us to get a set) it's $20, which is quite a bit to spend - for that i could get 5 months membership to a full 3D MMORPG with great graphics and really good gameplay...
so, 4 invy spaces or FULL membership for a more advanced, fully 3D game? which would u pick?

my suggestion is that the price get lowered to 10 each. this makes them cheaper to get, and u might think its bad coz theyll get less money... but i think itll actually get them more...

right now, there is no way that i'd buy invy spots - theyre way too expensive for me.
but if it was lowered, i could afford to buy a couple of spots, so i would do so.
(and im sure a LOT of other ppl are the same... i know that a lot in my guild are!)
so, really, they'd either get nothing, or they'd get less money, but still actually be getting some...
AND it could stop a lot of the "exploitation" of the AH

what do you think?

I think the only reason many people bought so many auction spots and abused the Ah was the ridiculously overpriced BP slot price. I've said since day one that they shoud both be the same price, to prevent the abuse curently going on.

i'd still buy more auction slots than BP this way. i do have a chance to sell an item on AH when i'm offline. For preventing AH abuse BP upgrade should be 1 Fsp short of auction. However 10 fsp is too low. make it 15 for BP and 16 for AH. my guess is this should be about what they worth and for extra storage ppl will buy BP absulutely this way. (of course all BP and AH upgrades should be reseted and FSP's refunded items on BP and AH should go to item mailbox for 24 hours and we should get a prior warning 2 days and again 1 day earlier from this change (thinking max auction is for 48 hours and +12 hours on item mailbox for a player to do something with) however if a player is on holiday with lots of BP space this may become a problem for them)

if u look at it this way, the more expesive things are the less people are going to buy it, i mean, i have to spend 10$ to deposit once?

but if u drastically reduce the price of everything, then i imagine that 10x the people will buy as they are getting the bang for their buck

lower prices = more ppl buy
high prices= rich ppl buy = very limited sales

i think in the long run that lower prices will benefit you ppl at HCS and us players

eh? EH?

also will we be reimbursed the FSP we invested if this gets implemented?
that would b alot of fsp for me

I voted no... Not that I don't think they should be cheaper, but they are worth more than 10 FSP. I am still firmly set on the opinion that backpack and auction spots should both be the same price and should both be 20 FSP.

both should be 20 and then HCS will still be getting the same amount as they would for 1 AH + 1 BP at the current prices. i'm not gonna vote because i want the prices changed but 10 is too low unless they just make a price flip and make AH 30 and BP 10.

Yeh; if anything, having more auction slots increases your bank. You gain fsp and gold off those auction slots so you are getting a real good deal having to only pay 10fsp for an extra slot. If anything, the price on the AH slot should be increased if the baggie slots are gonna be decreased. Or leave things as they are; auction slots are more valuable than the 10fsp we pay to increase the slots because they actually give back to you.

I agree that it's seriously expensive, I've bought 9 extra slots already, and it already costing me 270 fsp (I mean I can get a full fire dragon + leaf dragon set with this), which is more than 40 usd. I mean donating is fine, but when it became money draining system , that's ridiculous.

I don't really understand the point of making it so expensive, is it so that people can't hoard rare items or something ? To stop people hoarding rare items, there can be many other ways to do it, like for example you can't have 3 of the same item or whatever.

I totally agree to switch the cost between BP and AH, seems like it's a win win situation, people won't abuse the AH, and they can keep the items in the BP as long as they want 'til it rot or worthless.

How would it kill the auction house? Those extra slots would be used to hold items you are NOT wanting to sell. As it stands people are just circulating items through, not meaning to sell them.

sorry my bad i didn't see there was a new post above mine. i was talking about BP/AH fsp value flip suggested by DavidJames... most ppl don't even see 30fps in their screen. if AH upgrades becomes too high ppl will buy BP and trade on forums/pm and this would kill the AH... if no1 buys AH slots than values will increase (which would help me a lot  ) but also items will be much harder to find...

balance.. i also think max BP/AH cap should be decreased. 50 BP and 50 AH slot is more than enough. no need to have item hoarders... i guess even if something is done by this method there will be ppl who try to abuse the system in the end... well when u talk about ppl playing an online game u also talk about cheating at the same time.. at least abuse... :?

yes, that seems like a good idea...
that way, even the poor of us could afford a spot or 2, so that we can function well, then if we want our backpacks to be huge it'll go back to the 'normal' price...

^^
and what do u guys think so far?

it would:
- help to solve the AH issue
- make it so that even poor people could afford a few spaces (getting 30 FSP from someone buying 3 spaces is a hell of a lot better than getting 0 from someone buying 0 spaces)
- let us hold more, which can help people to enjoy the game without constantly worrying about space
