I found the Exquisite Elven was best, but mainly because it left four spots open for better stuff. I actually bought the full Nightshade set back when it still cost 35 FSPs or more, and I immediately sold off the four pieces that are in addition to the Exquisite Elven so I could put my four other pieces back. The Nightshade, like most full 9 piece sets, concentrates FAR too much on defense and not nearly enough on attack and damage. I ended up wearing the Nightshade Armor, Helm, Boots, Sword, and Shield, but added the Primal Rune, the Amulet of Pain (at level 31), the Chain Wrapped Knuckles, and a ring that escapes my memory right now. Just look on the AH for the best level 26-28 ring and you'll find it (best being defined as highest damage).

That set lasted me until I swapped for the Fire Dragon set at level 35. At least now the Nightshade stuff can be had for a fraction of the cost two weeks ago.

I went EE, as the set bonus is MUCH better. And easier to get.

EE is better as nightshade is a defensive set so if you get it be prepared to spend 30+ stamina per monster
