The only time the hunting is good is 2am-6am EST USA and I just cannot stay up this late to play a video game all the time.

Does anyone else feel this way?

That's when I hunt...kind of the downside for most Americans, who have 10x the free fsp...but even when I log in during the afternoon, it's never been that bad...maybe you're hunting in the wrong places... *shrugs*

LOLZ

With your attitude, no wonder the game's boring for you...And what, are you like, 12? Welcome to AoD, Aurora... :D

I have tried each location available to me at 65... nothing has any more enemies.... to fight... would you like screenshots.. I can do that if you would like. Its just too many people are in the zone and the spawn rates are too low...

Heh. Well...other arguments aside, I'm going to have to agree with maynoth. Yes, there are plenty of other things about Fallensword to keep oneself entertained. Bounties and forums and arguing with UberGeeks. And perhaps "game killer" is a tad extreme. Nevertheless, the spawn rates frickin' suck...and they have since I hit level 40. Which was his only point I believe....that hunting is no fun. And while I respect the social butterflies, you people must realize that the majority of gamers are a bit on the anti-social side...if not outright sociopathic. I know I am sometimes....when all I want to do is kill stuff and level. Anyhow...I'm told level 40-50 is just a bad place to be, and that hunting improves with time. But damn, if this keeps up (and from what maynoth says, it's going to) I'm gonna lock my exp and do nothing but bounty my ass off. Because as it is...hunting is no fun at all. I've spent 75% of my stamina walking around...that's just outright absurd. I got to level 40 in under a month...40-45 has now taken two weeks. And one final point. What I really don't understand is how the game went from mobs of critters at level 20...to the present circumstances I find myself in. Rather discouraging if you ask me, shouldn't it be the other way around? Right...I'm done ranting.

You mean to tell me that Amazon Encampment does not have mobs of Amazons? Or that Luminous 3 does not have mobs of Lost Souls?

Seriously, it slows down a tad at those levels, but not nearly as bad as you think...two weeks to go up 5 levels...man, I don't know what you guys are doing wrong, maybe not doing the "sweep and clear" as well as you're thinking you are...and the number of ppl in an area doesn't do anything with the spawn rate...if someone's killing stuph around you, you just move to the other side and let the creatures they're killing respawn right around you...but if you guys are constantly following behind someone else...then that's poor luck, not anything to do with the game.

There's a few hundred ppl easy who have already gone through the same areas and levels that you are going through...you want lack of monsters to kill, wait 'till you hit Moot. But seriously, don't complain about Amazon or Luminous...there's plenty of monsters in there.

If anything, it's this lag that's a game killer...not the spawn rate. And maybe you think it might be unfair to up the spawn rate after a few hundred ppl have already passed that level?

You're absolutely right Rev. In my current frustration I done completely forgot about the mobs of lost souls. And admittedly, my low leveling rate is in part due to the fact that I was drop hunting the golem champs, which took forever. Although, in my defense...I was outta the areas you speak of the second I hit 40...off to Moot and vamps, then 42 in blood golems and raptors. Both of which are very slow areas...and where I've been for five levels now. As I said...it slowed down around 40 for me. Like most players (I'm assuming), I head to a new area as soon as possible. People to see and new drops to acquire, ya know.

So I suppose I'm just a little discouraged after reading this post. The last thing I want to hear is that this is going to keep up through level 65.

And to answer your question, I think that point could be argued to hell an back. Yes...a few hundred people have gone through these areas before. But how much has the game grown since they did? Isn't it reasonable to assume that twice the amount of players (if not more) are now hunting the areas you were in a month ago...two months ago? It's my opinion that as the community grows, the spawn rates should follow suit. If they don't...wouldn't that actually be giving advantage to the players that went through already?

By the way Revenant....Mad City, are you referring to Madison Wisconsin?

altair(sp) forest had plenty mobs to kill when no one else was there... thats the only exception that sticks out in my mind...

im not going any higher than 65 until there is something to kill...
it is too boring to continue... games aren't supposed to be boring and frustrating....

Stop whining. You are not the top player. That means everyone above you is finding things to hunt and kill in order to level. Perhaps you simply suck at this game and should quit.

um...yeh because there are soooooooo many people at lvl 65 right now. if you look at the top 250 list, the amount of people who would be in your realms are lvl 65-69 and do not even amount to 'too many' when you factor in there are what? 3-4 MAPS for you guys to travel to with several lvls per map! The spawn rate varies map to map and lvl to lvl. Ya take the good with the bad. Ya don't waste time cryin about it. Odin Caves lvl 2 had tons of mobs too. Go back there and fight til ya can't no more. Ya won' get sympathy points from the lvls who have been through your lvl; ya should just be looking for input from players that are at your lvl or been at your lvl. After all, wasn't it you who made the whole learners permit and driving in traffic! No one below 65 knows about the areas ya training in to comment on your areas so obviously everyone is going to have conflicting stories on mobs and 'enough' kills.

i voted yes on the poll cuz having nothing to do is a game killer but in this game i don't find it very easy to get myself in a situation were i'm bored.i mean u can always chat with ur guild members and try to make new friends outside ur guild and there is a forum filled with topics for everyone and if the topic for you isn't there u just make it.so i completely disagree with you when u say there is nothing to do exept leveling

dragon,
it is not my position that the only thing to do in the game is level.
There are tons of other things to do. However having said that, I believe that leveling is the primary goal of ANY RPG or MMORPG... it has reached a point where it is too boring to continue..

walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), OH WAIT HERES 1 ENEMY OH BOY...,walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there), walk 1 square (nothing there)

i wiil try too say somting maybe u wont be agred whit me but i will say anyhow :P :)) ..in online games ppl compit not just having fun its alwhays competition and when u cant beacasu.. u cant like him he sad he has nothing too kil and its realy anying when u waste u stamina and kil 10 somting ..thats make u angry

But it's not a game killer. And really, it's only bad for some lvls and the next level you are all like 'weeeeee mobs!' but you can even still find mobs in the lvls ya complain about. But it is not as he says where you walk 20 spaces and find no kills. That IS an exxageration. Maybe we are so spoiled that we expect mobs EVERY square, but do you expect a deer in every step of the woods you take when hunting??

yeah, it can be alot tougher when the dungeon has many people in it. Like most people, i hunt in a gridlike pattern making sure not to leave out any space. When i get the feeling i'm following somebody(no creatures in 5+ moves) i break my pattern to try to get ahead of them. It can be very tedious. The only other option is just finding a more quiet area where less people are hunting.

Update 16/03/2007

"In this latest update we have corrected a few issues and added some new area's to some of the existing realms. (to be used in the next content update) Due to the nature of these changes the creature (regular and elite) spawns in the majority of the game have been increased to match the current number of players and also to accommodate the expansion to some of the existing realms."

the main point of the game for me is to level up get stronger upgrade my gear....

fighting is the best way to do that... the quest rewards don't give anything worthwhile so I don't do them... the only one I did was the dark crystal I think.

Why the heck would you play a game where the only thing to do was grind levels so you can wear better gear? That's just dumb. The quests are interesting, even if the rewards suck. There's also playing here on the forums and meeting new people.
Honey..if you want to just play a game where you grind levels, go do something simple like Diablo or something.

Lol owned.

@Skippster roflao... if your not playing to dominate, you might as well not play at all... I don't play rpg's to socialize, for those who do well good luck with that.

Dominating so far...while socializing...some of us can multi-task.

Socializing gets you tips on where to hunt, what gear to use, which quests are kewl...keeps you informed and excited about the game.
The greatest reason that the Army of Darkness is 7th ranked...is because we socialize...a silent guild dies a slow death...

...and yeah...have had plenty of luck socializing...and Dominating. :P
