i disagree about the defence bonus as it stands there is a possibility of a larger guild having a 52 person group at this point just changed today for attack (hoof i think 25 was quite enough but that is just me) and most guilds dont even have that many members so its not fair to defenders to not have a bonus when they controll just one relic but when you try to hoard you get no bonus.
But, with my idea you can only have as many people defending as you have upgraded your "Max Relic Defender" upgrade to. Would make for a big incentive for guilds to maximize their group/relic defending upgrades to maximize relic steal/defending abilities.
Keep in mind that the guild would have to distribute it's best players amongst the guild relics(1 person cannot defend more than 1 relic). Unless a guild put all of it's best players onto 1 relic(which mean couldn't defend other relics) it wouldn't be impossible to steal a relic with the right group.
This would make it very tactical for guilds to decide how to distribute their defensive powers.
Altho, i think for this reason, perhaps the max group size should be reduced to 20-25 or so(same as relic defend cap) to keep it from getting too out of control.
