you need to keep your gear repaired for one thing and stick with rats and natives until lvl 5.

until level 5? I was using cheap commons items (we didn't have these nice unique level 3 and 4 items back then...), and was beating things in the fire chasm at level 3 with 15 stam and under...

That is true, but the big difference you two have is that you are in a guild. The bonuses you get from a guild can make a lot of difference at a low level.

Heck yeah, but who can say that they've been with a guild from the very beginning? I was in a horrible guild before with only Attack +2 and HP +5... >_>

But for a level 1-5 that is still useful.

No, your kit isn't lame. It has enhancements, which at your level make a big difference.

Omg, dude, get some equipment. That's why you are levelling slow, and losing a lot.
You have slots for runes, rings, amulets, gloves, boots, armour and a helm, yet all you have is a pair of level 1 boots, and a spear that gives you no bonuses because you have been delevelled.
Buy as much kit as you can afford for your level or slightly below. Don't have empty equipment slots if you can avoid it. Complicated I know

Click Actions>Auction house
Then under the little search box click preferences, set max level to four.
Then click save preferences, then go back to the auction house and look for cheap gear you can buy.
Try to fill as many slots as you can.
