Tosher,

During Guld Conflicts the profiles will be hidden (but thats OT) :)

Yes - the smaller sets are def. the way to go and I guess then they need focus on one thing as you stated - like offensive set etc.

However I think a small change to how the armor works will also be beneficial to the game ... this is actually how it was before and we modified it to see how it affected it, so all we're suggesting is changing it back to our original format - which in essence made more sense :)

i personally don't mind 2 to 4 hit kills its how i've been set up ever since the haunted ruins but the sets need to give either def or armor not a balance between the two because you won't be able to survive the battles.

I had to change the way I set up my items about 10 levels ago, and the first thing I do when I enter a new area is make sure my Armor is as good or better than the damage of any creature I have to fight. Then I make sure my Atk is high enough to get through their defense. At that point, there isn't much left for my Damage, though i've been lucky enough so far to get 1-2 hit kills, sometimes 3. I don't mind this so much either, the main complaint is simply that the sets are useless cause you don't have the choice to set yourself up this way.

If there were 2-3 sets at each lvl milestone (110, 120, 130, etc...) that mix and matched, some with high armor and attack, others with high defense and damage, and one with just high attack and damage, we'd be in the same position now, only have a set that was better at those match-ups than common items and we'd have something to look forward to when fighting elites with 4 times as much armor/hp as any one player in the game has damage to kill on his own (hence the 12 person attack groups)

Excellent stuff.
Don't think i was playing when the original formula's were around so should be interesting!

What we might do is setup a beta server with the changed forulaes and let some players test it out to see if it makes sense or not ...

We'll be doing this also for the Guild Conflicts once thats ready! :)

when was the change made? i have been here since 2 weeks after launch so i might be able to remember what it was like.

and even with my current setup which i feel is pretty heavy on armor i still die at least 4 or 5 times for every 500 stam i burn.which is plenty in my opinion. by changing the game mechanic it will increase that, which i will get over but not without being very annoyed.

the main problem hoof is hp will never mean more.
why whould i ever chose hp over dmg if i can always kill better with dmg

i can have 1000 hp on lvl 100 or 1000 dmg ill always chose dmg

this is why i say triple hp on everything and you will make hp / def/ armor and more balanced setup viable and to prevent the elites from being extremly rare triple the ammount of elites and champinons in game. But to keep sta/xp gold ratio have creatures give 3 times the xp and gold

this will mean that person might spend 6 stamina attacking creature that he could ill in 2 but will keep him at the same pace for next lvl and people will start thinking of defence

I'm just gonna say that I agree globally on whatever David James says.... quoting is becoming too time consuming...

Perhaps using special ring / rune and/or amulet sets could be used to fine tune a larger set for offensive or defensive purposes?

Don't you feel HP is a little undervalued at the moment?

no i feel Armor is a bit undervalued but hp and defence are not valued at all !
you might as well not have them !

They are completely worthless

The Hp is indeed undervalued , but all of us will choose the high attack and damage items, so i think that HP will always be undervalued....
The PvP system isn't something so interesting as leveling (saying this because i feel that you always base ur thoughts on PvP). I don't get attacked and i don't attack ppl... all i want is leveling for my char. My interest would be in killing the monsters with 1 hit. Maybe you can make some items more rare (and better) . This would be a challenge for us, in obtaining this items , and without them we couldn't make 1 hit 1 kill

Yes, but doing this armor tweak it will make HP more valuable.

they are a bit undervalued but if i was to redistribute my points right now it would only cause my 2 to 4 swing battles to become even longer which to me is unnecessary. maybe give an automatic hitpoint every 3 lvls so we don't have to waste our stat points.

you are wrong it will make armor less valuable and ppl will stop using that as well

so might as well base this game on dmg and who hits first

Ok, but don't you see the issue with it always totally negating damage down to 1 HP?

I don't understand why you are using the complaints about the sets to poll us about changing the game mechanics. I don't see the relationship.

And I think this poll is skewed. I suspect many of the people who have voted for option 2 are just in fact voting for smaller sets and haven't read the whole discussion.

To make this fair you should conduct two polls - one about changing the sets - which I believe everyone will agree with and another about changing the mechanics of the game.

I love the game the way it is - it's not broken - why fix it?

I agree though that small sets would be a big improvement.

And can you please spell out the actual changes that you are considering implementing. How will defence, armour and hp change?

If we get to reset our level up points do we also get to reset our skill points?

And if you change the game to make it that critters take two or three hits to kill then aren't you further entrenching the people at the top? They got to the top on 1 hit kills but people who started later like myself will have to level up on two and three hit kills.

Please don't rush into changing the way the game works. I believe you need to reconsider this.

if it always negated damage down to 1 i would never die but yet i always seem to die at least 2 to 5 times a day. you want to increase that number? and i have 53 hp at the moment with the gear i'm using.

this game is getting less chalenging each week
pvp is almost worthless
and so are half the stats and enhancement
the only ppl that like this are thouse that gain lvl and enjoy mindless hack and slash

so lets make it simpler
since we going towards 1 hit = 1 kill ratio anyways
just make a formula

ammount of stamina = x xp times your lvl

this will make it much easier get a 500 stamina , press a button you got x xp and feel free to get new gear

will save alot of time and result the same

i loved this game at lvl 1-5 where i searched for gear and rats and natives were actually hard to kill but now this is becoming a who got more stamina race

I think just adding some smaller sets and working with the higher level players to make some tweaks to the existing sets might be fine - I think we may try this first and see how that works out before changing anything else :)

How does that sound?
