This is a medieval game, right? Well I reckon it could use something like a pillory or stockade feature where cheats are publicly named and shamed.

I play another game where instead of losing your account entirely for cheating your character is placed in jail and an announcement is made detailing the offence you committed and how long you are suspended for.

If cheaters were publicly named in this way I think it would help to make the game more honest and accountable.

Players could go in the stocks for various periods of time depending on the offence, for creating alts, fake recruiting, logging into other players characters for relic defence or buffing, doing free offers multiple times etc etc...

If HCS is serious about trying to curb the cheating in the game then I believe it would be useful to introduce something like the pillory or stockade so that honest players could see that the developers actually do take a stand against cheats.

And while they were at it they could increase the number of fsps per dollar that you get for donating to the game as if the fsps were a little less expensive I believe more people would purchase them rather than trying to obtain them dishonestly.

Also I think they should either remove the recruiting medal from the game or rename it as the cheaters medal ;)

A most excellent idea Phool.

We discussed already how many cheaters there are in the game and how proud they are to cheat.

It's about time HCS do something to curb cheating and to discourage cheating in the future.

I don't expect this to be a popular idea as I know how rife cheating is in the game... :(

This would be great expecially if we get to pay gold to throw rotten tomatoes at the players (resulting in a loss of exp :P)

Since we're trying to make this more appealing as a gold sink (since it would require a bit of coding) you'd have to pay gold to point and laugh (resulting in loss of pvp points)

to me this idea seems pointless, and the only reason anyone put it on here seems to be that noone is taking any serious action from HCS to get rid of the inactives and the cheaters in an effective way... ie making it really pointless to cheat due to changes in the gameplay... theres too much to be gained by cheating for too many people... I wonder why they won't take a firmer stance on it?

this is just goofy, and tomfoolery in my opinion... lets get serious and actually tryto get something done...

I agree with this. Why put cheaters on a pedastal? It will only make it easier for other people to abuse whatever it is the original cheater did. Banning them seems most effective to me. If only they would ban cheaters though.

Sorry mate - this was actually a serious suggestion on my part. I hate the way that this game is plagued by cheats and that HCS seems willing to accomodate this scourge by giving players who breach the rules, first, second and third chances rather than banning their accounts outright. And that the cheats are so comfortable in the game and unconcerned that the developers will take any action against them that they actually brag about their exploits!

If something like a stockade or pillory was introduced and the cheating players were suspended from the game for periods of between 1 week and 1 year and could actually lose xp or gold or pvp points while in the stockade I don't think this would be placing them on a pedestal.

In a game where you are invited to donate real life cash to support its development it is abhorrent that cheats flourish.

So this idea is not in jest - it is a serious suggestion.

I do sometimes wonder if the reason that HCS appears to tolerate cheats in this game may be because some of the larger donators to the game may have a very liberal interpretation of the rules....

well, then I say that they need to have either a no tolerance policy or they need to make it acceptable and stomach the hit they're gonna take when players like myself, who hate cheaters, decide that cheating is part of the gameplay in this game, bc otherwise you're playing at a personal disadvantage.

I can think of a billion ways to cheat in this game, and I HATE cheaters bc they actually don't have enough character to earn their way through the game the way most of us do...

CHEATING, ITS A DISEASE. THE CURE IS TO KILL THE CHEATERS. ZERO TOLERANCE. LONG LIVE FAIR PLAY!

The policy is to give cheats a second and third and fourth chance so it seems.
I detest cheats too and would like to see HCS get serious in addressing the problem. But I think that cheats may actually bring money into the game in a number of ways (donating, doing free offers etc) so for HCS to act against them they stand to lose money.

the way you state this makes it sound like HCS should unofficially be of the stance that having multiple accounts is perfectly acceptable.

thats a shame.

I don't believe they are of that stance. You can read their policy by logging into the support site at the top of the forum and reading the knowledgebase on the game. Eg:

Can i own more than one account?
Solution
No. This is a direct violation of the game's Usage Agreement. Depending on the severity of the violation, your account may be suspended pending review. All suspension issues are carried out at the discretion of Hunted Cow Studios Ltd and are not up for any kind of debate.
